a review of 亚历山大大帝
One of the best historical films ever made tbh. Not only does it nail the persona of Alexander, it manages to carry the weight and impact of his conquests, bringing you along on the journey through the Near East and the life of one of the most remarkable people in history. The fact that it's told through the perspective of Ptolemy provides musings on the nature of this campaign, peace and war, culture and race, and all the issues of Alexander himself, which also fits the deep character study the film is going for. All that is done with very few historical inaccuracies, and amazing performances by all the actors. It's such an authentic and immersive experience that by the end of the film you feel nostalgic of the beginning, like you've lived a life beside that great leader. P. S. If you feel there's anything similar to this film or better at what it does, feel free to tell me, I'd be glad to check it out.
