Medusa is the second solo album by the Scottish singer Annie Lennox, released in March 1995. It consists solely of cover songs, all originally recorded by male artists. It entered the UK album chart at No. 1 and peaked in the US at number 11, spending 60 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart. It has since achieved double platinum status in both the U.K. and the U.S. and sold more than 6 million copies worldwide.
The album yielded four U.K. singles: "No More I Love You's" (which entered the UK singles chart at No. 2, Lennox's highest ever solo peak), "A Whiter Shade of Pale", "Waiting in Vain" and "Something So Right".
The album was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the Grammy Awards of 1996, losing to Turbulent Indigo by Joni Mitchell, however, Lennox took home the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance award for her work on the first single "No More I Love You's." This album was re-released in late 1995 in a double jewel case containing the album Medusa and a nine-track bonus CD featuring the studio version of Paul Simon's "Something So Right" (with Simon guesting on vocals and guitar) and eight tracks recorded live from the concert in Central Park: "Money Can't Buy It", "Legend in My Living Room", her Eurythmics hits "Who's That Girl?", "You Have Placed a Chill in My Heart" and "Here Comes the Rain Again", along with "Why", "Little Bird" and "Walking on Broken Glass" .

We have painstakingly collated the original master tapes and with the supervision of Dave Stewart, have remastered them to the highest standard possible. The sound quality is truly amazing and has to be heard to be believed.

Each album will feature bonus material compiled with the assistance of Dave and Annie. Rare B sides never before released on CD, classic remixes and most excitingly, unreleased recordings, including a series of amazing cover versions plus live and acoustic performances.

Each reissue has been redesigned by Laurence Stevens Design | LSD the creative agency who has worked with the band throughout their entire career. All eight albums will be released in deluxe digipack packaging, and each album will be stickered to highlight the wealth of bonus material on each release. The 18 to 24 page booklets include refreshed front sleeve artwork, original single sleeves and most importantly previously unseen photography covering the bands whole career. Phill Savidge renowned PR guru and Eurythmics fan has, through various interviews with Dave and Annie, written sleeve notes for each album. Insightful, provactive and ‘unput downable’, they help bring the bands incredible story and music alive.

In a perfect world, the Red Hot Chili Peppers disbanded upon hearing this catastrophic slab of kinky trip-funk. I'm not sure that Jane's Addiction ever amounted to more than a dreadlocked amalgam of their titanic influences (Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Velvet Underground), but I do think that God granted Perry Farrell a slim window of genius before banishing him to an oblivion of balderdash-mouth. You know you were up waiting for Britny Fox or a Bulletboys video on the Adam Curry-hosted "Headbanger's Ball" when Jane's Addiction's "Mountain Song" blew your mind. As hallucinogenic as it was socially conscious, this album's chief irony was that its killer numbers were revisitations of songs from the band's debut ("Jane Says", "Pigs in Zen"). Overall this is a great album with great songs and good vocals from Annie Lennox. The hits include "Here Comes the Rain Again", the bubbly "Right By Your Side" and the moody "Who's That Girl?". Recommended purchase! Other good Eurythmics albums include "Savage", "Greatest Hits" and "Diva" by Annie Lennox.
