After releasing lead single “Nonbinary” alongside a cybernetic music video earlier this month, Arca has now shared the release details of her forthcoming studio album, KiCk i. Arriving via XL Recordings, the follow-up to her groundbreaking self-titled album from 2017 will release digitally on June 26, with physical vinyl and CD options coming on July 17.
“I don’t want to be tied to one genre,” Arca explains about KiCk i. “I don’t want to be labeled as one thing.” Produced and recorded by the Venezuelan artist, singer, and experimental composer, KiCk i boasts a stacked list of features from fellow boundary-pushers. Björk, Rosalía, Shygirl, and SOPHIE will all make cameos on the album, the first time Arca has collaborated with other artists on her solo material.

No Geography is the ninth studio album by English electronic music duo The Chemical Brothers, released on 12 April 2019 by Virgin EMI Records. It is their first album in four years, with their previous being 2015's Born in the Echoes.

Kick II (stylized as KICK ii) is the fifth studio album by Venezuelan record producer and singer Arca. The album is scheduled to be released on December 3, 2021 through XL Recordings as a continuation to her 2020 record Kick I, complementing the Kick tetralogy. Kick II has been presented with one single so far: "Born Yesterday", featuring vocals by Australian musician Sia.

When Gabriel Szatan asked Teki Latex for his thoughts on so-called deconstructed club music, the French DJ said lot of it was "experimental for the sake of being experimental." He meant that some producers are stuck in a technical exercise, aiming to achieve increasingly weird or sophisticated sound design with no concern if it actually works, musically. The reality is, world-changing electronic music happens when you have both: the drive to push the medium forward coupled with a musical instinct that goes beyond novelty factor. The Los Angeles producer Amazondotcom nails that sweet spot on her first EP, Mirror River, the inaugural release for Subreal, her label with Siete Catorce. It's got the imploded rhythms and wilfully dissonant synths we tend to associate with deconstructed club music, but it also has the visceral power it needs to make a dance floor move in earnest.
Abundant sub-bass is key to unlocking that visceral body response, and Mirror River doesn't skimp on the ultra-low-end frequencies. All four tracks contain traces of golden-era dubstep in terms of how the bassline takes center stage—"A Flower, Nocturnal And Permanent" especially, with its LFO wubs and resounding negative space. It's decorated with a rich collage of highly processed samples (birds, trees, crowd noises), providing an element of cybernetic sound design you might not hear on a Deep Medi record. "A Drum To Ward Off Language" has a similar vibe, pairing classic UK bass with a modern textural flex, though there's urgency stemming from its nearly 150-BPM tempo. "Leopard's Dream" is full of sawtooth and square wave melodies which might be grating to some ears, or just sharp enough for others. The hand drum samples on "Priestess" are a nice counterpoint to the buzzing digital synths, which don't quite reach alarm-clock levels of intensity, though they get close.

‘Exhaust’ is the hyper, nervy second part of Lee Gamble’s head-rinsing triptych ‘Flush Real Pharynx’, following from the giddy rushes of his first volume; ‘In A Paraventral Scale’.
Continuing Gamble’s pursuit of a modern ambient zeitgeist - as in the dictionary sense, relating to both immediate surroundings and forms of advertising, as well as an extension of ‘90s ambient techno (weirdo dance musick) - ‘Exhaust’ expands his current album cycle album with an incisive exploration of “the three stages of the Semioblitz - the aggressive onslaught of visual and sonic stimuli of contemporary cities and virtual spaces.” Parsing the shrapnel of everyday ephemera, both physical and emulated, via reconstituted memories of original ‘90s rave - jungle, techno, avant electronics - and modernist updates of trancehall and deco-dance styles, Gamble acts as a fleshy conduit for an intense, restless flux of ideas perhaps relatable to anyone who lives in a big city or indeed the modern world, including its viral parallels.
Working within a style he’s developed over the past decade, in a transition from pure computer musique of his 2009 debut LP to the deconstructed jungle of ‘Diversions 1994-1996’ and the concept-driven ‘Mnestic Pressure’, his current sound consolidates all that came before it in a super lucid yet fluidly mercurial style that distinguishes him from the crowd and speaks to his close personal relationship with UK dance music and avant electronics.
Throughout the 8 tracks of ‘Exhaust’ Gamble pulls myriad aspects of real and virtual worlds into buckled chromatic reflections and polymetric rhythms that describe and suppose a hypermodernist sense of chaos and digitally-divined immanence with shamanistic vision. Between the introductory detonation of ‘CREAM’, with its synth voice flogging Paco Rabanne, to the way he clearly evokes the eye-flickering intensity of data overload in the rushing jungle snares and head-spinning doppler revs of ‘Saccades’, the album typically finds a brilliant tension between making you dance and spanking your grey matter, resulting in a strong highlight in the rug-pulling rave madness of ‘Glue’, a pitching footwork zinger in ‘Naja’, and 2050AD styles in ‘Shards.’

Little Snake (real name Gino Serpentini) resides in Calgary, Alberta. His music deconstructs dancefloor norms and subverts traditional structures, balancing intricacy with explosive bass weight. His tracks have become a staple in Flying Lotus’s DJ sets who signed him to his label Brainfeeder in 2018, describing his productions as “fkn insane”. “YATDC” follows “ENTER” EP inspired by the Gaspar Noé film Enter The Void and 2019’s “LOST IN SPIRALS” EP informed by math rock, textural noise, acid techno and jungle.

Lisa Jane Stansfield (born 11 April 1966) is an English singer, songwriter and actress. Her career began in 1980 when she won the singing competition Search for a Star. After appearances in various television shows and releasing her first singles, Stansfield, Ian Devaney and Andy Morris formed Blue Zone in 1986. The band released several singles and one album, but after the success of Coldcut's "People Hold On" in 1989, on which Stansfield was featured, the focus was placed on her solo career.

Eric Prydz releases his debut double album ‘Opus’ on February 5 via Virgin Records. ‘Opus’ is a personal narrative through the diverse and rich soundscapes that make up one of electronic music’s most unique and respected producers.
Producing under multiple aliases and straddling house, techno and more, Prydz is a twice Grammy nominated artist, who has risen to the very top of electronic music. He’s headlined solo shows at iconic venues like Brixton Academy and Madison Square Garden, yet refused to give up his roots in underground club culture. For the breadth of his career his productions have walked a delicate and admirable path, straddling the increasingly divided world of electronic music, drawing admiration from chart toppers and underground icons alike.
‘Opus’ eschews hyperbolic concepts, reinvigorating the electronic music album format by showing a record can still be smart and anchored by the dancefloor. Refusing to be pigeonholed or constrained, Opus is filled with the same spirit that saw an 8 yr old Prydz reject formal piano training due to its rigidity. From breathy melodic euphoria to stripped back dark minimalism, Opus is quintessentially Eric Prydz, immaculately produced, soaring but intimate, euphoric and melancholic, and underpinned by those singular Prydz melodies.
Prydz released over 30 tracks in 2015, celebrating decade long milestones of his most popular aliases, the melodic house of Pryda and the dark techno of CirezD. But despite this prolific year that underscored the popularity of his signature sounds, Prydz refuses to look backwards, and surprises on Opus, imbuing the record with a real sense of discovery.
From the golden-age of Swedish techno that dragged him into club culture, to the synth-pop of the 1980s that sparked his love affair with electronic music, Opus reveals the influences that have shaped Prydz, while also being his most personal and intimate work to date.
