You can respond until 3 February. It is useful to respond even if your point has already been submitted by someone else. Den Digital Independance Day finde ich toll. Allerdings werde ich mich nicht stur - auch wenn ich gebürtige Sauerländerin bin (uns sagt man ja Sturheit nach und häufig stimmt es) - an die Monatsregel halten, sondern mein eigenes Tempo bestimmen.

Taki tejk: dlaczego #GAFAM tak zwalcza #OpenSource, chociaż sam jest na nim w dużej mierze zbudowany?
#FOSS jest egalitarne. Jeśli dysponujesz wiedzą i czasem, to nie będzie różnicy jakości między Twoimi otwartymi rozwiązaniami a drogimi bigtechowymi. Wręcz odwrotnie. Interoperacyjność opensource i zgodność ze standardami daje Ci przewagę.
#FOSS jest oparte o wiedzę, nie można jej "szybko kupić" za abonament. Wczesniej zaczniesz, wcześniej zdobędziesz doświadczenie. Ludzie pomogą.
#FOSS nie przywiązuje cię do dostawcy. To ogromna "wada" z którą #GAFAM musi walczyć, by zachować monopol.
Pamiętaj, poza systemami Google, Microsoftu, Apple, jest jeszcze dostępny cały ekosystem wolnego oprogramowania. Stworzony przez ludzi dla ludzi. Do dzielenia się nim, wdrażania i korzystania.
P.S. Czytając to korzystasz właśnie z ekosystemu #FOSS / #OpenSource.

This isn't very significant from the last PR I submitted from late October 2025 (upstream has a commit from early September 2025 so I am trailing by many months with this one) however, remarkable to me:
MacPorts' signify's version is now in alignment with upstream's versioning!

I have no idea if that was true previously? My guess is: no, since I think jpouellet/Jean-Philippe Ouellet branched that out a long time ago and seemed to have iterated version tags haphazardly? Maybe I am mistaken though! There's a completely different Linuxism fork of signify which seems to have evolved (and versioned) very differently too.
That in particular has confused me with spurious repology.org out of date error messages for many months. I dunno if it has confused others, or if this version sync will make things less confusing, but hopefully? It makes things less confusing for me at least.
In tangential news, since I saw tedu in the man page, someone was wondering where he got off to a while ago and I don't think I saw a response. Hopefully he's doin OK? Please?

Running Mastodon on FreeBSD? Stop using wrapper scripts that break service status.
I've refactored the init scripts for Sidekiq, Puma, and Streaming to be fully production-grade:
- Clean privilege dropping (no su wrappers)
- Native signal handling for log rotation
- Correct PID tracking & status reporting.
