Trans Europa Express/Trans-Europe Express was the first Kraftwerk album to be mixed in two entirely separate versions, one in German, the other in English. In addition, a French language version of 'Showroom Dummies' entitled 'Les Mannequins' was included on French pressings of the album (which otherwise features the English mix).
Most German pressings (as well as the 2009 remastered reissues) list 'Metall Auf Metall' as two separate tracks, the second part entitled 'Abzug'. Most other versions only list 'Metal On Metal', but include both tracks.
The original German pressing (and many of the other editions) features a monochrome portrait by New York photographer Maurice Seymour, with the group dressed in suits to resemble mannequins. A highly retouched colour photo montage of the group by J. Stara is used for the British, American and other editions. A color collage of the group sitting at a small cafe table designed by Emil Schult was used for the inner sleeve. Most of the 2009 reissues feature a simplified monochrome 'TEE' design.
The original German release includes a colour poster of the Emil Schult image.

Vespertine, released in August 2001, is an album by the Icelandic singer/songwriter/musician Björk. It sees Björk creating an introverted, quiet world of swirling microbeats and personal lyrics. On the cover she can be seen wearing the swan dress (designed by Marjan Pejoski) that caused a stir at the 2001 Academy Awards.
The album was originally released both on CD and on DVD-Audio in 2-channel (48khz/24bit) and 5.1-channel (96khz/24bit) advanced resolution. It peaked at number eight in the UK Albums Chart and at number 19 in the U.S. Billboard 200. It was also nominated for Best Alternative Album at the 2002 Grammy Awards. Recently music webzine Drowned In Sound named Vespertine the number-one album of the last six years not to garner press attention.[1] Stylus Magazine placed it 36th on their 'Top 50 Albums: 2000-2005 Vespertine was also selected as one of the 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.
The album was re-released in 2006 as a DualDisc including a lower-quality DTS 96/24 version of the original advanced resolution 5.1 mix. The DualDisc also formed part of the box set.
On August 22, 2008 Björk wrote an open letter on her official website expressing her anger at the fact that Valgeir Sigurðsson has over the years been credited with writing the instrumentals for the album. She explained that he had been only an engineer and programmer (and that she herself had produced every track on the album), and argued that part of the reason was to do with sexism in the music industry.

The Man-Machine (German: Die Mensch-Maschine) is the seventh studio album by German electronic music band Kraftwerk. It was released on 19 May 1978 by Kling Klang in Germany and by Capitol Records elsewhere. A further refinement of their mechanical style, the album saw the group incorporate more danceable rhythms and less minimalistic arrangements. It includes the singles "The Model" and "The Robots".

This is the album pundits like to point to when they accuse Kraftwerk of being digital-age visionaries; an all-too-easy assessment to make in the face of tracks such as "Home Computer" and "Computer Love" (not an ode to one-hand typing!). But to saddle the band with the reputation of sages is to completely miss the low-key wit and all-too-human playfulness of this album. "Pocket Calculator" and "Numbers" (the lyrics: numbers one to eight--period) could be read as tongue-in-cheek ripostes to too much bad "educational" programming, but that would smack of creeping punditry. Computer World is Kraftwerk's most lovable bundle of contradictions: at once its most technologically obsessed album and its most human. --Jerry McCulley

BJÖRK WILL RELEASE a new album, Fossora, this fall. The Icelandic singer confirmed the LP, her 10th full-length effort, in a new interview with The Guardian, revealing that it was partially inspired by the 2018 death of her mother, Hildur Rúna Hauksdóttir.
The album’s title, Fossora, is the feminine version of the Latin word for “digger.” The songs were written during and after the Covid lockdown, which saw the singer returning to her home country. “I don’t think I’ve been that much home since I was 16,” she said. “Guilty to admit it, but I was eating chocolate pudding every day. I got really grounded and I really, really loved it.”
According to the article, the LP features a collaboration with Serpentwithfeet, as well as backing vocals from Björk’s son, Sindri, and her daughter, Doa. It also includes contributions from Indonesian dance duo Gabber Modus Operandi (“They’re taking tradition into the 21st century, which I really respect,” the singer noted. “They do it like nobody else.”).
Two of the album’s tracks, “Sorrowful Soil” and “Ancestress,” were inspired by the death of Hauksdóttir, an environmental activist. When her mother died, Björk remembers her being unhappy being surrounded by traditional doctors after having embraced alternative medicine during her life. “She didn’t agree with all that,” Björk noted. “She was in the hospital a lot and it was really difficult on her. It was quite a struggle.”
In the interview, Björk describes the album as a “mushroom album.” She added, “It’s like digging a hole in the ground. This time around, I’m living with moles and really grounding myself.”
Björk also confirmed that she has been scouring her musical archives to make a podcast series about her discography, which is due out this fall alongside the LP.
The musician’s last full-length album, Utopia, was released in 2017.
