Scottish band from Perth. Shoegaze, post-punk, indie-rock. Band of short duration, but that left little important work. Somehow, the band gave its contribution to the shoegaze era, sorry that did not leave a full disk. "Sunrise" is to listen to loud! They've only released three singles in early 90's. Noise and distortion to please the fan of good shoegaze.

In March 2008, the band released a studio recording of "All Things Must Pass" on the soundtrack album to the NBC television drama Heroes. It is the first new song to be released by the Jesus and Mary Chain since 1998.

Cocteau Twins were a Scottish rock band active from 1979 to 1997. They were formed in Grangemouth by Robin Guthrie and Will Heggie, adding Elizabeth Fraser in 1981 and replacing Heggie with multi-instrumentalist Simon Raymonde in 1983.

As COCTEAU TWINS guitarist and producer, Robin Guthrie is the man responsible for creating that famous sound and opening the door for My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Ride, et al. Darla Records is very proud to offer Robin Guthrie's second instrumental album Continental. Dare I say... continental is Robin's strongest all-instrumental bliss out, or make out, record since Cocteau Twins. Robin gives more heart and soul on Continental than on his previous instrumental release Imperial. Continental is more focused, stronger in feeling, and in composition. Of course all of Robin's signature elements are here: Shimmering guitars, ethereal moods as fluid and deep as any of Eno's, and yes, he does at times thankfully bring the rock. Glasgow two-piece Honeyblood have announced the release of their eponymous, debut LP, following on from their first 7" 'Bud' last year.
Recorded at legendary producer Peter Katis' Tarquin Studios (The National, Interpol) in ten days last November, 'Honeyblood' is an accomplished and delightfully fierce record. "Peter was the perfect match for us," singer/guitarist Stina Tweeddale said of the recording. "He perfectly managed to capture our live performance in the studio. These songs represent good times for us." 'Honeyblood' will be released on the 19th May via FatCat Records.
The band will be previewing the album at London's Bush Hall tonight (19th February) where they'll be main support to New Jersey indie heavy-hitters Real Estate on the only UK date of their world tour. Next, Honeyblood will be heading to the States themselves for a full US tour, then over to Austin, Texas for a week's run at South By Southwest.
Honeyblood are Shona McVicar on drums and Stina Tweeddale vocals / guitar. Despite their fledgling status and minimal setup, Honeyblood's songs are fully formed and perfectly assured. With nothing extraneous, their music is driven through tightly-bound instrumentals and laced with the sheer strength and beauty of Stina's voice. The songs resonate with deep melodic hooks and the uncomplicated charm that've drawn comparisons to the likes of Best Coast and Frankie Rose, as well as the strident delivery of Jenny Lewis. The band also tellingly cite the darker currents of The Breeders, PJ Harvey and Throwing Muses as lifelong influences.
From the urgent guitar and dive-bomb drums of opener 'Fall Forever', the album twists through the gutsy punk of 'Killer Bangs', to reveal discordant anthems like 'Super Rat'. It has pared-down alt pop gems in the likes of 'Biro' and 'No Spare Key', but also more country influenced moments like, '(I'd Rather Be) Anywhere But Here', 'Braid Burn Valley' and 'Bud'. 'Honeyblood' pulls in elements of lo-fi punk rock, unfettered indie pop and a deep seated passion for classic rootsy song crafting that helps give the album something of an undeniable feel.
The duo started from humble DIY beginnings, organising their own guerrilla show at The Old Hairdressers in Glasgow to commemorate the release of a raucous two-track cassette entitled, 'Thrift Shop', recorded in their bathroom with one mic. Honeyblood quickly ingrained themselves into the bustling Glaswegian scene, fast becoming one of its most talked-about names and going on to play festivals everywhere from The Great Escape to their native T In The Park, as well as support slots with everyone from Palma Violets to Sleigh Bells. But with their full-length debut ready to go, big name supports, and world tours locked, 2014 certainly looks to be the year with Honeyblood's name written all over it.

Tuff Love are set to release their three EPs as one 15-track compilation. Due Jan 29th via Lost Map Records, 'Resort' brings together sell-outs 'Junk' & 'Dross' - both now unavailable - and the more recent EP 'Dregs' to showcase the band's shimmering guitar pop sounds.
"These are songs we started making in 2012 and finished in 2015, so it's 3 whole years of Tuff Love. There's a whole load of songs from Tuff Love 2012-2015 that didn't make it onto this or the E.Ps but we felt these ones represented us best at the time and we're proud of them. They were a labor of love. The tracks are in the order they were released on Junk, Dross and Dregs. We know it's not an album in the sense that it was written to be an album, but we wanted to put a full stop after the three E.Ps, and releasing them all as 'Resort' seems like a cool way to do that!"

The Spook School return with their brand new album, 'Try To Be Hopeful'. Fun and empowering, 'Try To Be Hopeful' is brim full of noisy, tuneful and triumphant queer pop songs about identity, sexuality and being awesome. Since forming in 2012 they've become increasingly involved with the DIY queer punk scene, taking inspiration from the passionate, like-minded people they've met along the way, and from bands such as Martha, Joanna Gruesome, Trust Fund and Tuff Love. Citing influences including Buzzcocks, T-Rex and the noisier end of C86, the new album is louder, bolder, fuller-sounding and captures more of their live sound - aided and abetted by producer MJ of Hookworms.

Glaswegian producer and songwriter Jon Cooper aka Turtle announces the release of his 2nd EP 'Colours', out 11th May on Beatnik Creative. 'Silent Weapons' layers subtle beats with soft vocal and melodic beauty, climaxing with an atmospheric build reminiscent of his earlier work with Lavender; an instrumental hit which peaked at #2 in the Hype Machine popular chart. With over 100k streams, and incredible amounts of blog coverage, Turtle fans will be pleased to hear Lavender also features on the EP, along with title track 'Colours' and two brand new songs 'The Floor' and 'Us'. With two of the five EP tracks straight-up instrumental and the other three featuring vocal, the release is a perfect example of Coopers diverse ability as a beat maker as much as a singer/songwriter. Turtles debut EP, 'Who Knows' saw Cooper unify critics and gain comparisons with the likes of Jon Hopkins, SOHN and Thom Yorke, including being championed heavily by the likes of Lauren Laverne, Gilles Peterson, Nemone and Steve Lamacq (BBC6 Music) and Huw Stephens (BBC Radio 1).

Architect is the debut LP from Glasgows considerable new talent C Duncan, whose previous singles (all present on Architect) enjoyed high praise across press and radio. The album was written and recorded alone in his Glasgow flat on a bedroom studio setup, gradually adding each layer and each instrument one at a time, building up the breadth of the pieces. As a composer, he is classically trained, graduating from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland - another influence clearly visible in his songwriting, in its fully-formed textures and meticulously crafted arrangements. The son of two classical musicians, Christopher was drawn so persuasively to indie and alternative music and playing in school bands as a teen that he added guitar, bass guitar and drums to his existing repertoire of viola and piano, studying all five instruments at the same time. Christopher recently formed a live band to perform his pieces onstage. A full tour schedule, including festivals across the UK and Europe, is available on FatCats pages and his own social networks. The cover art for Architect, a detailed and stylised aerial view of a Glasgow side street, was created by Christopher himself. A skilled and accomplished artist, his work has been exhibited at galleries around Scotland.
