The Truth: Noirishly nourishing North London alt.gothic rocksters Desperate Journalist follow up their spectacular November Kamio comeback show with big news a'plenty for the New Year. Firstly, the feisty quartet will headline London's Scala on April 6th 2017 as part of a string of live dates in the UK and Germany. And secondly, on March 24th they release their second album, 'Grow Up', ostensibly eleven tracks of rocketing leftfield delights propelled forth with thundering rhythms, thunderously spectacular guitar and Jo Bevan's thunderstruck vocals. Such is intense life with Desperate Journalist, one of the most potent, important DIY bands lurking on the underground scene right now. The campaign for 'Grow Up' kicked off with the Kamio headline and the release of the heroically muscular 'Hollow' single, followed by the launch of 'Resolution' on New Year's Day. If both 'Hollow' and the follow-up 'Resolution' capture a band working ever harder, faster, stronger then fittingly the 'Grow Up' album sees Desperate Journalist building on the sublimely tetchy mood swings of their 2014 self-titled debut and the tense interim 'Good Luck' EP by adding a fresh sonic sheen to their old school indie stroppings.

The legendary THROBBING GRISTLE have completed their first new studio album in 25 years, entitled PART TWO. THE ENDLESS NOT. Almost 30 years on since their inception from the ashes of performance art troupe/media guerrilla cell Coum Transmissions, THROBBING GRISTLE'S challenging, expressive, self-empowering manifestos and music are as relevant today as they were back in the bleak mid-70s. As historically important during their active period of 1975 - 1981 as contemporaries Can, The Sex Pistols, and Kraftwerk, THROBBING GRISTLE'S influence on today's music (from experimental production techniques and confrontational live shows to independent promotion via their own Industrial Records label) runs far deeper than they are often credited.

"Reflection" is the twenty-sixth solo studio album by English musician Brian Eno, released on 1 January 2017 on Warp Records. It is a single piece of ambient music produced by Eno that runs for 54 minutes in length. Released on CD, vinyl, and digital download, a generative version of the album is available as an app that changes the music at different times of the day. Reflection is an addition to Eno's series of ambient albums. Its structure is similar to that of Thursday Afternoon (1985), an earlier album of his that consists of a single track that runs for 60 minutes in length. Reflection has a length of 54 minutes. Eno decided on its title as the piece "makes [him] think back. It makes me think things over. It seems to create a psychological space that encourages internal conversation. And external ones actually - people seem to enjoy it as the background to their conversations". He considers the work the most sophisticated of all his ambient releases. On 1 January 2017, an album listening event was held at several Rough Trade shops worldwide. During the event, a "uniquely generated, one-of-a-kind" edition limited to 500 copies were available on CD that contains a signed case sleeve with a booklet.
