Tom Kingston，Joe Wilson是多年的好友，兩人都接受過正統的音樂課程，Solomon Grey樂團在2015年首度接觸影視音樂創作，那一年，他們為根據「哈利波特」作者J.K. 羅琳敘述教區議員席次爭奪戰的小說所改編的HBO/BBC迷你影集「臨時空缺」譜寫原創音樂，樂團在2017年為英國電影電視藝術學院電視獎得主Peter Moffat編劇，以1965年派駐在中東的英軍，一方面為葉門的暴動進行作戰，一方面擔心隨行的家人安危的BBC One影集「The Last Post」譜寫原創音樂，在完成這部影集的音樂創作後，他們緊跟著推出了無論在視覺上與內心感受上都是很強烈且深具野心的專輯【Human Music】。
2016年的夏天，Solomon Grey樂團接下了BBC One的電視影集「The Last Post」的原創音樂工作，他們與Mercury KX唱片公司確定了下一張專輯的合約，當時，Joe與Tom兩人都初為人父，同一時期，Joe的母親被診斷有腦部腫瘤，生命只剩下三個月，他們的人生陷入瘋狂的忙碌，儘管有著悲傷，Joe的母親的樂觀態度讓那一年的夏天變成了一個美麗的夏天。
在音樂上，【Human Music】專輯與「The Last Post」的原創音樂有著相同的地方，Solomon Grey樂團在兩部音樂作品都是在同一段時間進行創作，也都是與以匈牙利作為音樂基地的二十二人編制的管絃樂團合作，兩部作品的主要創作樂器都是1976年製造的CS-80合成器。
專輯【Human Music】的開場歌曲"The Weight"是在Joe的母親確診後，Joe在醫院外頭的車上所寫下的歌曲，在他的母親過世後，Joe想起他跟母親搭計程車去醫院的片刻，看著計程車上的空位，他寫下了結合了超自然感覺的人聲演唱，震撼心弦的絃樂，具有推動力道的鋼琴樂聲與華麗的交響樂聲的專輯終曲"The Departed"，在這兩首歌曲之間的作品記錄了Joe的母親的旅程，以及這段旅程帶給Joe的感受，還有Tom對好友的經歷的反應，Tom，Joe認為與其說這是一張紀錄逝去的作品，倒不如說它是一張頌揚人生的作品，而且，它還是一張分外迷人的美麗作品。

The numerous comparisons drawn by Life Without Buildings are across-the-board positive. Through the music and sleeve design, they come across as refugees from Rough Trade's class of 1979. Liliput, the Fall, Delta 5, and even the Slits occasionally come to mind. These female-fronted groups have certainly inspired LWB, but this quartet — simply a drummer, a bassist, a guitarist, and a vocalist — offers much more than nostalgia and post-punk plundering. They're more of a pop band, which is just fine. The jagged, economical rhythms of late-'70s and early-'80s post-punk are prominent. Robert Johnston's guitar playing is melodic and pleasant, differing from the cut-and-scrape methods of his forebears: think of Talking Heads' or Throwing Muses' first albums. Unlike many post-punk rhythm sections, the bass of Chris Evans and the drums of Will Bradley aren't reggae-influenced. They provide a plaintive, professional surface for firecracker Sue Tompkins to glide atop, throwing in the occasional, non-jutting shift in tempo that also avoids predictability. Tompkins' scat-speak singing is the band's main attraction, a youthful chirp that never pierces. Her repet-pet-petitive repetitive style might be at odds with the ears of some listeners, but it's just as unique as the exuberant vocals featured on records by any of the bands mentioned above. The set is remarkably cohesive, with the differences in each song taking a few listens to sink in. Only six of Any Other City's ten songs will be new to those who purchased the band's trio of 2000-issued singles. The overlap is reworked, usually with slight improvements made over the original. Only "The Leanover" suffers, losing some of the raw thrill of the single version. If there's a gripe to be had with the record, that's it. An ex-excite-exciting, phenom-enom-phenomenal debut.

This set illustrates again Yazmin’s candid songwriting delivered in her uniquely laidback soulful style, whilst a glorious fusion of neo-soul and jazz performed by Pete Beardsworth and her trusty band rides throughout.
In recent times, Yazmin has made live appearances on Jazz FM, BBC Radio 4, 1Xtra and NTS, & received widespread acclaim across the airwaves, including BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music, Worldwide FM and Mi Soul, plus Spotify love from the likes of The Independent and heavy support from DJs such as Gilles Peterson, Jamz Supernova, Tom Ravenscroft, Huey Morgan and Jamie Cullum. Yazmin appeared heavily in The Guardian / The Observer's recent extensive feature on the UK's new Jazz movement too.
Initially a Brownswood ‘Future Bubbler’ graduate, Yazmin self-released her debut EP, 'Black Moon', last year. This lead to a Maida Vale session late 2017 with Jordan Rakei, Moses Boyd, Oscar Jerome and now label mates, Children of Zeus. She kicked off the year with a performance at the Worldwide Awards with Skinny Pelembe, and has recently done shows with artists such as Alfa Mist, Ezra Collective, Tall Black Guy and Fatima. Yazmin has a UK tour scheduled for November, as well as several festival appearances across Europe locked in.
There’s a lot more to come from this Notts-based Londoner yet. In Yazmin's words: "'90 Degrees' is about that time of the day / night when there's a shift in pace and energy. When you decide to lock off from the 'outside' world and create your own atmosphere, take some time to give thanks for what's breathing love into your life and smoke off the fuckeries. Everyone needs a little routine for self preservation."

Hunter, the third long player from the BRIT award and double Mercury Music Prize-nominated Anna Calvi, will be released on 31st August 2018 via Domino.
Produced by Nick Launay (Nick Cave, Grinderman) at Konk Studios in London with some further production in LA, the album was recorded with Anna's band - Mally Harpaz on various instruments and Alex Thomas on drums - with the addition of Adrian Utley from Portishead on keys and Martyn Casey from The Bad Seeds on bass. It has a new rawness, a primal energy into which Calvi pushes the limits of her guitar and voice beyond anything she’s recorded before.
Hunter is the embodiment of the feeling of truly letting go. For the songwriter and virtuosic guitarist, it was a catharsis, an opportunity to be more truthful than ever. The first new music since 2014’s collaborative release with David Byrne, Strange Weather EP, her self-titled debut album and the 2013 follow-up One Breath, Hunter is a visceral album exploring sexuality and breaking the laws of gender conformity. A queer and a feminist record, it is galvanising in its hunt for freedom. It was important to Calvi that it was as vulnerable as it is strong; as beautiful as it is harsh; as much about the hunted as it is about the hunter. But she’s careful not to characterise any of these traits as “masculine” or “feminine” – the whole point is that one person, of any gender, can be both. The power is in the contrast itself; in the way she oscillates between extremes, sounding freer than ever before. She wanted to express herself while being “free from the story that either gender is given, free from worrying how people would judge me on what I want to do with my body and myself. For me, that’s quite a utopian vision.”

In an Instagram caption, Bain explains the meaning behind ‘Lilo’;
“One of my best friends five years ago called me up when I was in a state of total heartbreak and said: ”‘I’ve met somebody and you’re going to fall completely in love with them’.
Quiet quickly this became entirely true. Lilo is a song about that relationship, how she was everything I needed at that time and how, to me, her every movement – paired with her approach to life – seemed as serene as the image of a lilo floating across a swimming pool.
I felt very close to this song as I began writing it just before this relationship came to an end and finished it just after it had.
Now, it is a reminder to me that I am quiet good at falling in love and I can survive falling out of it. I’m good at falling.“

2008 album from the British singer/songwriter and daughter of Maddy Prior and Rick Kemp (Steeleye Span). Rose's unique powerful vocal is sometimes operatic, sometimes fierce but equally haunting, her musical style is extremely difficult to categorize. Heavy Folk Rock has previously been cited but doesn't really sum up this exceptional album. Woven together with multi hook harmonies and quality instrumentation, this album slowly buries itself under your skin. Lyrically the songs are compelling and their content somewhat mysterious but backed up with heavy rock guitar, oversized drums and old Synths and organs, they are infectious and thought provoking. Her influences are numerous but include the classic rock of Black Sabbath and stoner rock legends Melvins, Drone artists such as Earth and Om. She is also influenced by classic Black Metal, Doom and '70s Prog right through to timeless songwriters including Kate Bush and Tom Waits amongst many others. One Little Indian.
