MOURN's self-titled 2014 debut LP gave the world an interesting idea: Catalonian teenage wunderkinds making authentically great guitar-based music in an era where it's considered almost unfashionable.
Since that period, the band has faced some very real issues, both personally and professionally, things that 17-to-20 year olds normally don't have to worry about. When dealing with such a youthful band, you worry about how they will live up to the early attention as it begins to dissipate. Upon hearing Ha, He, He. for the first time, it turns out, we never needed to look forward to MOURN growing into a great band; they already are one.
As the opening bars of “Flee” gallop into “Evil Dead,” it’s instantly evident that MOURN will continue their speedy ascent from local curiosity into an international band on the rise. Ha, Ha, He. is sonically deep, heavy and manages to retain all the immediacy of their successful debut MOURN. It's one of those rare records where you watch a band's level of sophistication grow leaps and bounds without losing the foundation and simplicity of what made people take note in the first place.
Ha, Ha, He. has all the twists and turns of Post-Rock from its Chicago heyday bolstered by the melodic quirkiness of a new influence for the band, Throwing Muses. On "Brother, Brother" and "Howard," we see MOURN through a pop lens: undeniably catchy, but intricately performed and still somehow "heavy." This is a band that can play around with the pop format in a way that doesn't degrade their songwriting talent to the lowest common denominator. Not an easy task. Further on, the track "Storyteller" goes on it's own trip through downtempo drudgery, into a melodic bridge, and concludes with anthemic sing-screaming. On the equally challenging-yet-beautiful "Second Sage," it becomes apparent that MOURN have begun to carve out their own niche and their songs are no longer fits of inspiration indebted to their heroes, but just the band being themselves.
The penultimate “Irrational Friend” takes its chorus, “Ha. Ha. He.” from William Blake’s “The Laughing Song,” a poem from his Songs of Innocence and Experience. Much like the poem itself, the song is sort of a last gasp of screaming laughter on an album that's marked in real time. You can sense the band working through their experiences as a group of young and talented people entering their 20s. They face a future that can be equally rewarding and cruel, with respect to their career in music as well as life in general.

Narsilion 04年的这张专辑听起来与Stoa, Ophelia's Dream, Dargaard, Dark Sanctuary, Ordo Funebris很有几分相似处, 我不知道该说他们是在模仿stoa们抑或应该说又一个有前途的乐队现身了, 正如他们的封面一般, 可以明显得感觉出新古典音乐的气息, 虽然并不带有革命创新的色彩, 但这种相似也恰是我喜欢的原因.
其中既有Stoa, Ophelia's Dream的气势磅礴, 又复Dark Sanctuary与Dargaard 中世纪般的魔幻力, 且时而呈现出Ordo Funebris音乐传奇般的色彩. Narsilion这张专辑中使用了许多新古典音乐中我最喜欢的几样乐器, 长笛, 小提琴, 鼓. 长笛可以演绎悠远的情致, 小提琴善于谱写忧思, 而鼓我觉得作用很妙, 出于本身的特性, 它能体现力量气势与沉重, 却也同样可以表达哀怨的情绪 ( 这个感觉来自于原Hyperium公司Claire Voyant的同名专辑中第三首Deep ). 在长笛和小提琴的演奏中, 加入鼓点, 似乎有一种放大他们本来体现的情绪的作用.
这张专辑中的人声, 相当部分是起着点缀的作用, 差不多可以当做一种辅助的乐器. 男声低沉厚重, 女声轻柔缥缈, 这一反差不仅没有减低音乐的乐趣, 却增添了音乐的想象力. 我认为总体来说, 这是张继承了新古典音乐前辈们优点的作品.

1999年,Lady Morte就已经开始了他的个人音乐计划-Trobar de Morte,Trobar de Morte最初的音乐主要依靠着人声和键盘,灵感来源于中世纪。2002年,Lady Morte为了创作一些真正意义上的中世纪题材的音乐作品,开始和Sathorys的两位成员合作,而暂停了Trobar de Morte。Trobar de Morte与Sathorys的联合也就诞生了众人所知的Ordo Funebris,可是好景不长,一年之后,也就是2003年九月,Ordo Funebris宣告解散,Lady Morte又开始了Trobar de Morte,这个暂停了一年的音乐计划。

JASSS (Silvia Jiménez Alvarez) is a sound artist and producer raised on the Northern coast of Spain. Her parents were passionate about jazz, African and South American rhythms, which became some of the most formative influences in her life.
From an early age, her fascination with sound drove her pursuit of understanding the relationship between music and people. She left Spain to launch this endeavor, leaving behind a social and cultural landscape from which she felt increasingly alienated. Feeling fractured in focus, she began shaping a theme from the distractions, channeling it into new works.
The punk and hardcore roots of her youth evolved into a deep plunge in industrial, dub and experimental music—worlds of sound that were evocative in mystifying, inaccessible ways. After moving to the Netherlands in 2010, she began editing field recordings and probing the worlds of electronic music and soundscapes. She moved a year later to Berlin, where she scored several experimental films.
In 2015 she made her first appearance as a DJ with a distinct, eclectic style that would become her signature approach. After a few years of studio work, her first 12 inch, Caja Negra EP, was released on the American label Anunnaki Cartel. Her second record, Mother, was released that same year on the Italian label Mannequin Records, followed by Es Complicado, on the same label. These days, she is focused on the experimentation of sound and spaces, working on several projects including electroacoustic pieces, live, and audiovisual performances. Her first solo album, Weightless, will be released in 2017 on the Swedish label iDEAL Recordings.
