Today Laufey releases her debut EP Typical of Me. Laufey is a 21 year old Icelandic-Chinese artist who is heavily influenced by jazz and R & B. She recorded her debut single “Street By Street” with peers at Berklee College of Music before it was shut down for COVID. Laufey then started topping the Icelandic charts and earning support from Billie Eilish and Willow Smith.

“‘James’ is about a certain type of guy that I have encountered in my life. It’s always the same pattern – I’ll admire them for a while, then get to know them and learn that I have created a false narrative in my head for who they actually are. かつてMinuanoが発表した2枚のアルバムは、MPB、Jazz、シティーポップ、ソフトロックなど、影響を受けてきた音楽や当時新たに関心を持ち始めていたジャンルへの憧憬をモチベーションにして制作しました。
一方で今回の新作は、内側から湧き上がった音をそのまま捉えるという、以前とは少し違った過程の中で生まれています。
それは、自分さえ知りえなかった別の自分を再発見するプロセスでもあり、また同時に、音楽それ自身が個人の手を離れ、ひとりでに成長していく姿を目の当たりにする体験でもありました。
作品が出来上がった今もなお、満足感とも充実感とも言いようのない不思議な感覚に囚われています。

Released in 1984, Sade’s <i>Diamond Life</i> is one of the most fully realized debut albums of the last 40 years—an influential worldwide smash whose influence continues to ripple through popular music today. The album’s nine songs—eight originals, plus a brooding cover of R&B singer Timmy Thomas’ 1973 hit “Why Can’t We Live Together”—seemingly hover in the space they occupy, like light glimmering off of a city street late at night after fresh rain. Arriving smack dab in the middle of the 1980s, <i>Diamond Life</i>’s release came just as “quiet storm” R&B became a dominant force on Black radio stations in the US—and the music of this British quartet, led by Sade Adu, would come to define the genre for a multitude of listeners. But <i>Diamond Life</i> is by no means a record situated in time; the music sounds and feels eternal, far beyond the ways in which its DNA has been incorporated into modern-day neo-soul and R&B.

Recorded over the course of six weeks in London’s legendary Power Plant Studios, <i>Diamond Life</i>—and Sade as an entity—was born out of Adu’s previous gig as a backup singer for the band Pride. She formed a songwriting partnership with Stuart Matthewman, the band’s guitarist and saxophonist; the duo would eventually team with Pride members Paul Denman (bass) and Paul Anthony Cooke (drums) to break off and form Sade. The group’s catalog as a whole is often associated with romance and sensuality, but the songs on <i>Diamond Life</i> often bear the mark of hardship and uncertainty: The smoldering “Sally” is a tribute of sorts to the open charity of the Salvation Army, while the bold and cautiously optimistic “When Am I Going to Make a Living” was inspired by Adu not being able to pay a dry-cleaning ticket. But the cool-handed interplay Sade showcases on <i>Diamond Life</i> betrayed its status as a relatively new group, featuring a sound so natural, it feels as though the members had been playing for decades already. The word “timeless” has never felt so deeply earned.

Promise is the second studio album by the English group Sade. It was released in the United Kingdom on 16 November 1985 by Epic Records and in the United States on 21 December 1985 by Portrait Records.
The major hits from this album were "The Sweetest Taboo" and "Never as Good as the First Time", which reached number five and number twenty on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, respectively. Also, "Is It a Crime" was released as a single. While not as initially successful as their debut album, Diamond Life, Promise became the band's first album to top the albums chart in both the United Kingdom and the United States, helped by an appearance at Live Aid and a cameo in the film Absolute Beginners.
The title Promise comes from a letter from Sade Adu's father where he refers to the "promise of hope" to recover from cancer.

Today it’s been announced that on the 5th December, “Lioness: Hidden Treasures“, the third album from Amy Winehouse, without question one of the most talented, original, and best loved artists to emerge in popular music for decades, will be released through Island Records.
Following her tragic passing in July, some of the producers and musicians who worked closely with Amy Winehouse, among them Mark Ronson and Salaam Remi, spent time listening over the many recordings that Amy had made, before, during, and after the release of “Frank” and “Back To Black”. It was said by all who worked with Amy that she never sang or played a song the same way twice. It quickly became apparent to Salaam and Mark that they had a collection of songs that deserved to be heard, a collection of songs that were a fitting testament to Amy the artist and, as importantly, Amy their friend.
The 12 track collection features previously unreleased tracks, alternate versions of existing classics as well as a couple of brand new Amy compositions, and has been compiled by long-time musical partners Salaam Remi and Mark Ronson in close association with Amy’s family, management and record label Island Records. “Lioness : Hidden Treasures” proves a fitting tribute to the artist, the talent and the woman and serves as a reminder of Amy’s extraordinary powers as a songwriter, a singer and an interpreter of classics.

Back to Black is the second studio album by English singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse, released in October 2006 on Island Records. To Pimp a Butterfly is the third studio album by American hip hop recording artist Kendrick Lamar. The album was released on March 16, 2015, by Top Dawg Entertainment, Aftermath Entertainment, and distributed by Interscope Records.
The album, which features the songs 'The Blacker The Berry' and 'i', was originally due for release on March 23 but is available to stream and download now.
'To Pimp A Butterfly' is the follow-up to 2012's 'Good Kid, MAAD City'. Lamar's two most recent releases, 'i' and 'The Blacker The Berry', both feature on the album's 16-song tracklisting. The latter was produced by Boi-1da, and references the 2012 killing of African American teenager Trayvon Martin. 'i' won Grammy Awards for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance in February.
Speaking in a recent interview about the album, Lamar said the music ranges from "the intensely personal to the swaggeringly aggressive".
