《龙珠超 超级英雄》（日语：ドラゴンボール超 SUPER HERO）由东映动画于2021年孙悟空的纪念日（5月9日）发布这部的动画电影版公开消息。
电影企划在2018年《龙珠超 布罗利》上映前便开始准备。漫画《龙珠》原作家鸟山明在这部作品中担当人物设计、故事及脚本。亦是《龙珠》系列第21部电影动画与《龙珠超》的第2部电影动画作品。此外，由于受到迪士尼收购21世纪福斯的影响，20世纪影业（原二十世纪福斯）不再参与本作发行，故本作成为该系列自《龙珠Z 神与神》以来第一部由东映独自发行的作品。
