这个片子的质感就很像同时期的香港电影，运镜，置景，布光、配乐甚至包括剪辑点的选择都很像。这种片子大概可以归进新浪潮的一个分支吧，叫公路片？似乎不太准确。那叫西部片？也不太对。只能勉强概括为西部公路题材的B级片。但是说到底，麦克斯的人物逻辑有问题啊，不对，是智商有问题。

这片子最感人的部分应该是萨鲁找到母亲之后发现哥哥死了，但是感觉导演没铺开，大部分都在讲怎么在澳大利亚用谷歌地球找这个行为，但是前面小演员的表演是真棒。

本片由华裔漫画家陈志勇根据自己的同名绘本制作而成，并荣获2010年安锡动画影展最佳短片奖和2010年第83届奥斯卡最佳动画短片奖。
