Roger Waters, the creative power and songwriting force behind Pink Floyd, presents Is This The Life We Really Want ?, his first rock al bum in 25 years. The album is produced and mixed by Nigel Godrich (Radiohead, Paul McCartney, Beck, U2, "From the Basement"), and includes 12 new Roger Waters musical compositions and studio performances.
Roger Waters' last studio album, 1992's Amused To Death, was a prescient study of popular culture, exploring the power of television in the era of the First Gulf War. This long-awaited follow-up, Is This The Life We Really Want ?, is an unflinching commentary on the modern world and uncertain times, and a natural successor to such classic Pink Floyd albums as Animals and The Wall.
Tracks on Is This The Life We Really Want ? include: "When We Were Young," "Déjà vu," "The Last Refugee," "Picture That," "Broken Bones," "The Life We Really Want," "A Bird In A Gale," "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World," "Smell the Roses," "Wait For Her," "Oceans Apart," and "Part of Me Died." The lyrics for Wait for Her were written by Roger Waters and inspired by an English translation by an unknown author of "Lesson from the Kama Sutra (Wait for Her)," by Mahmoud Darwish.

To Pimp a Butterfly is the third studio album by American hip hop recording artist Kendrick Lamar. The album was released on March 16, 2015, by Top Dawg Entertainment, Aftermath Entertainment, and distributed by Interscope Records.
The album, which features the songs 'The Blacker The Berry' and 'i', was originally due for release on March 23 but is available to stream and download now.
'To Pimp A Butterfly' is the follow-up to 2012's 'Good Kid, MAAD City'. Lamar's two most recent releases, 'i' and 'The Blacker The Berry', both feature on the album's 16-song tracklisting. The latter was produced by Boi-1da, and references the 2012 killing of African American teenager Trayvon Martin. 'i' won Grammy Awards for Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance in February.
Speaking in a recent interview about the album, Lamar said the music ranges from "the intensely personal to the swaggeringly aggressive".

Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Karen O has announced details of her debut solo album.
‘Crush Songs’ will be released on 9th September via Julian Casablancas’ label, Cult Records.
Featuring material, including home recordings, made back in 2006 and 2007, the record will also include Karen’s “own personal drawings, handwritten lyric and more”.
“When I was 27 I crushed a lot,” she says of the new record. “I wasn’t sure I’d ever fall in love again. These songs were written and recorded in private around this time. They are the soundtrack to what was an ever continuing love crusade. I hope they keep you company on yours.”
Casablancas adds “So excited, lucky and proud to be involved with such a classic album—I just wanna listen to it all day. Karen is an all-time great.”

"Nostalgia, Ultra" is a mixtape from Odd Future member Frank Ocean, released in February 2011. The project has 14 tracks with no features, a solo effort from the crooner.

"Young and Beautiful" is a song by American singer Lana Del Rey for the 2013 film adaptation of The Great Gatsby. It is set to be released on April 23 as the first single for the soundtrack with the video being released a day before. A couple months before the release date, she had sung part of the song for a radio station, which included the lyrics "will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful?". Musically, the song is a piano ballad.

Carrie & Lowell sounds like memory: it spans decades yet does not trade on pastiche or nostalgia. Stevens's gauzy double-tracked vocals wash across the dashboard of long-finned, drop-top Americana, yet as we race towards the coast we are reminded that sunshine leads to shadow, for this is a landscape of terminal roads, unsteady bridges, traumatic video stores, and unhappy beds that provide the scenery for tales of jackknifed cars, funerals, and forgiveness for the dead. Each track in this collection of eleven songs begins with a fragile melody that gathers steam until it becomes nothing less than a modern hymn. Sufjan recounts the indignities of our world, of technological distraction and sad sex, of an age without neither myths nor miracle and this time around, his voice carries the burden of wisdom. Carrie & Lowell accomplishes the rare thing that any art should achieve, particularly in these noisy and fragmented days: By seeking to understand, Sufjan makes us feel less alone.

On February 21, 2013, Ocean confirmed that he had started work on his second studio album, which he confirmed would be another concept album. He revealed that he was working with Tyler, The Creator, Pharrell Williams, and Danger Mouse on the record.He later stated that he was being influenced by The Beach Boys and The Beatles. He stated he was interested in collaborating with Tame Impala and King Krule and that he would record part of the album in Bora Bora.
In April 2014, Ocean stated that his second album was nearly finished. In June 2014, Billboard reported that the singer was working with a string of artists such as Happy Perez (whom he worked with on nostalgia, ULTRA), Charlie Gambetta and Kevin Ristro, while producers Hit-Boy, Rodney Jerkins and Danger Mouse were also said to be on board.[5][6] On November 29, 2014, Ocean released a snippet of a new song supposedly from his upcoming follow-up to channel ORANGE called "Memrise" on his official Tumblr page. The Guardian described the song as: "a song which affirms that despite reportedly changing labels and management, he has maintained both his experimentation and sense of melancholy in the intervening years". On April 6, 2015, Ocean announced that his follow-up to channel ORANGE would be released in July, as well as a publication, although no further details were released. The album was ultimately not released in July, with no explanation given for its delay. The publication is rumored to be called Boys Don't Cry, and the album is slated to feature the aforementioned "Memrise".
On July 2, 2016, he hinted at a possible second album with an image on his website pointing to a July release date. The image shows a library card labeled Boys Don't Cry with numerous stamps, implying various due dates. The dates begin with July 2, 2015 and conclude with July 2016 and November 13, 2016. Frank's brother, Ryan Breaux, further suggested this release with an Instagram caption of the same library card photo reading "BOYS DON'T CRY #JULY2016".On August 1, 2016, a live video hosted by Apple Music showing an empty hall was launched on the website boysdontcry.co. The website also featured a new "boysdontcry" graphic. The video marked the first update on the website since a "date due" post from July.
On August 1, 2016, a video appeared that showed Frank Ocean woodworking and sporadically playing instrumentals on loop. That same day, many news outlets reported that August 5, 2016, could be the release date for Boys Don't Cry. The video was revealed to be promotion for Endless, a 45-minute long visual album that began streaming on Apple Music on August 19, 2016.[16]
The following day, Frank posted a new picture on his website advertising four pop-up stores in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, and London. Later in the day, the album went up on iTunes.
