正是这张专辑改变了我对Dio的看法。以前一直对Dio的印象不太好，总觉得这个人有些投机，先是在RAINBOW借助Ritchie Blackmore的吉他大师名望成名，然后又去了BLACK SABBATH进一步提高自己的地位，等有了比较高的知名度后再自己出来单乾......另一方面，Dio本人形象实在比较一般，既不高大威猛，也不英俊潇洒，没有偶像气质（我小时候的想法，hoho）。此外，我当时比较偏爱有特色的嗓音，而Dio的声音乍听起来又显得很平常，所以......总之，我就是觉得DIO不怎么样。直到一个无法入眠的晚上，随便翻出了这张专辑，本希望籍一张乏味的CD使自己能够安稳地进入梦乡，结果第一首We Rock就让我彻底精神起来了，这也是我第一次真正被Dio的声音所感动。作为一位优秀的重金属主唱，Dio的声音并不是通常重金属主唱那种沙哑的嗓音，而是很有力度，阳刚气十足。无论是We Rock、I Speed At Night这样的快板作品，还是Evil Eyes、Breathless这样的进行曲速度的歌曲，以及The Last In Line、One Night In The City等中板歌曲，Dio都用他那独有的硬汉嗓音演绎的非常到位。个人感觉，Dio的后期作品虽然他的演唱更加强硬，但有些过于卖弄，失去了这张专辑中的和谐感觉。当然，其他几位乐手同样是杰出的——其中最有名的当属Vivian Campbell，他后来在WHITESNAKE和DEF LEPPARD都取得了相当的成功；贝司手Jimmy Bain和鼓手Vinny Appice的表现同样出色，扎实的功底确保了我们能够欣赏到如此精彩的重金属音乐。没错，这是一张绝对纯正的重金属专辑，从封面到音乐再到内容。
