FKA twigs ends months of speculation by announcing details of her highly anticipated second album. Titled MAGDALENE, the album will be released on 25th October 2019 and is the follow up to FKA twigs’ critically acclaimed Brit Award and Mercury Prize nominated debut LP1.

Created in a period where her confidence was knocked following heartbreak and laparoscopic surgery, MAGDALENE is the sound of twigs reconfiguring, emotionally and physically. As she sings on ‘Mary Magdalene’, the MAGDALENE album track that opened her highly-praised, sold-out live shows earlier in the year, “A woman’s time / A woman’s work / A woman’s time to embrace / She must put herself first”.
MAGDALENE is produced by FKA twigs and, as with LP1, the recording process has been directed by her at every stage. It was recorded between London, New York and Los Angeles over the last three years and features major contributions from Nicolas Jaar alongside a host of other collaborators. MAGDALENE sees FKA twigs creating a whole new artistic universe and it is, without doubt, her most masterful, innovative work to date.

東京生まれ。Cymbalsのリード・シンガーとして1997年にインディーズ、1999年にメジャー・デビューを果たす。
2004年のバンド解散後、実父・土岐英史氏を共同プロデュースに迎えたジャズ・カヴァー・アルバム『STANDARDS ~土岐麻子ジャズを歌う~』をリリースし、
ソロ始動。本人出演/歌唱が話題となったユニクロTV-CMソング『How Beautiful』を始め、
NISSAN「新型TEANA」TV-CM ソング『Waltz for Debby』、資生堂「エリクシール シュペリエル」CMソング、
『Gift ~あなたはマドンナ~』など、自身のリーダー作品のみならずCM音楽の歌唱や、
数多くのアーティスト作品へのゲスト参加、ナレーション、TV、ラジオ番組のナビゲーターを務めるなど“声のスペシャリスト"である。

"It's the name of the record because when I was growing up we had this big crow in our garden. It was in a tree there for about 12 years, and we called that crow "Balthus." They’re a symbol for death and darkness in olden times and maybe more recently they’re a symbol for melancholy and loss. I thought it would be nice to have an abstract name for the record….it feels like a ‘crow’ record to me! It’s a bit lonely and sad, you know?”

今年で10周年を迎えるレーベル“noble”。その節目を記念して企画された初のレーベル・コンピレーション『Invisible Folklore』は、フランス文学者にして作家、澁澤龍彦の遺作｢高丘親王航海記｣にインスパイアされた、コンセプト・アルバム。
＜原作＞となった「高丘親王航海記」は、平安時代に天竺を目指して旅立った高丘親王の逸話を、病床にあった澁澤龍彦が自由奔放な想像力で描き出したもの。7章から成る小説に沿い、レーベルゆかりのアーティスト、またレーベルが敬愛するアーティストが、各章をモチーフに曲を書き下ろした。
高丘親王の高貴（noble）な旅をなぞって生まれた本作は、音楽というロマンに導かれて旅を続けてきた、　さしずめレーベルにとっての航海日誌。幻想文学とエレクトロニカを巡り合わせ、nobleというレーベルの佇まいを魅力的に浮かび上がらせた本作は、レーベル･コンピレーションとしても、ひとつのコンセプト・アルバムとしても機能する稀有な作品となった。

Neuromantic is Yukihiro Takahashi's self-produced 1981 album and featured his YMO colleagues Haruomi Hosono and Ryuichi Sakamoto on keyboards. Tony Mansfield and Phil Manzanera also played on the album. The title of William Gibson's novel Neuromancer is inspired by this album's title,[citation needed] which is a pun on the early 1980s British fashion movement, the New Romantics.
