エレクトロニカ/ダブ/ジャズのエッセンスをサウンドに注入したバンド"MAS(マス)"のリーダー「ヤマダタツヤ」のソロ名義。美術作家ヤノベケンジ作品の音楽やtoto (suika)のアルバム「○to○」のプロデュース、ツジコノリコとのコラボレーション、cokiyu、sgt.のリミックスを手がける。MASとして"えんけい/En Kei"を始め3枚のアルバムをリリース。他にもグランツーリスモ5、FIFA、HONDA、BMW、SONY、札幌国際短編映画祭など様々な映像作品の音楽制作を数多く行う。現在Tyme.名義でのEPを準備中。

2000年、1stアルバム『化粧と兵隊』(『I forgot the title』Mego, '02 )を発表以降、14枚のソロ、共作アルバムを、Mego, Tomlab, Room40, Fat Cat, NatureBliss,Asphodel等からリリース。2003年『ハードにさせて』はPrix Ars Electronicaにて受賞。ヨーロッパを中心に、映画、ダンス、インスタレーション、アニメーションに楽曲提供、そして、Sonar, Benicassim, Mutekをはじめ、世界のいたる土地でコンサートを行う。過去共作者には、Aoki Takamasa, Riow Arai, Lawrence English, Peter Rehberg, Stephen O'Malley, Tyme. 等。また、2005年より、映画制作をはじめ、2本の中編「Sand And Mini Hawaii」「SUN」を完成。カルティエ財団, uplink, Image Forum Festival等での上映を行う。近々、竹村延和とのコラボレーションアルバムのリリース予定、そして現在、6年ぶりソロアルバム、2本の初の長編映画制作を準備中。パリ在住。一児の母でもある。

Stranger things have happened, but rarely do they make such beautiful music. The three esses that comprise the enigmatically titled s / s / s are as follows: Sufjan Stevens, he of the Fifty States Project and various baroque folk-pop opuses; Serengeti, the wry-witted rapper known for in-depth on-record character studies; and Son Lux, silken-voiced singer, studio wizard and singular beatsmith. The project's roots reach back to 2009's Dark Was the Night compilation, where Stevens and Geti met over a Buck 65 remix of a song written by psych-folkie Castanets. Continuing in the spirit of (unlikely) collaboration, the pair passed beats and raps back and forth, eventually enlisting Son Lux to dream Beak & Claw into fruition. While this momentous EP comprises a mere four songs, each covers an immense stretch of sonic territory and emotional range. At six minutes, "Museum Day" may be the most adventurous and also the most satisfying, opening with a swath of AutoTuned heartache courtesy of Stevens, cresting with the darkly detailed raps of Geti, and closing in a hail of crashing cymbals, orchestral glitch and haunted coos from Son Lux. "Beyond Any Doubt" exchanges that taut splendor for deeper grooves whose farthest-out moments bring to mind Shabazz Palaces' cracked futurisms, albeit spiked with a falsetto'd pop hook. Fuzzy bass and industrial clang crash into lines about unrealized escapism and unpaid bills. Shara Worden of My Brightest Diamond lends "If This Is Real" its Andrews Sister-like chorus, an immaculate contrast to the aural chaos that eventually overtakes the song. Meanwhile, Doseone (Subtle, Themselves) lends a similar buoyancy to "Octomom," an electro-spackled, mostly spoken piece that plays like a Laurie Anderson track for the reality television generation (also featuring jaw harp and harmonica by Ohio folk vet Hal Walker). Because of its subject matter, this final song goes a long way to illustrating Beak & Claw's strange magic and, ultimately, why s / s / s works at all. Geti's humor and humanity are matched by playfulness and poignancy every step of the way. In the end, sublime confluence prevails.

Ryan Lott's most recent album as Son Lux, last year's Lanterns, communicated an ambivalence with the modern world, with Lott yearning for an escape to undefined "alternate worlds". His new EP reconfigures songs from Lanterns and includes a contribution from Lorde; his previously sanguine outlook has been scrubbed away, darkened, and clouded over until it resembles something closer to weary skepticism, if not outright cynicism.

Son Lux's new LP Lanterns isn't piecemeal beats or hastily assembled instrumental clutter, rather it begs to be heard as the lingua franca of the past and the future, something that connects the analog and digital realms. And sometimes it totally gets close.

On the heels of her "Conatus" world tour, Nika Roza Danilova was offered an opportunity to perform at one of the most prestigious modern art museums in the world, NY's Guggenheim. Rather than doing her standard Zola Jesus electronic set she decided she wanted to work with a classical composer who could arrange her songs for a quartet. She recruited legendary industrial pioneer JG Thirlwell (Foetus) to do the arrangements. Since his work as Foetus in the early 80's New York no-wave scene, JG has been scoring and composing symphonic arrangements for his own project Manoerxia, in addition to currently scoring Adult Swim's Venture Brothers series. If there is a common thread to Thirlwell's varied musical styles, it is dramatic intensity and evocative, cinematic quality. Thirlwell's oeuvre runs the gamut from orchestrations, big band, and cathartic noise-rock to abstract electronics, sound sculpture, and chamber music, thus making him the perfect collaborator to help realize Danilova's vision. Danilova explains her intentions with this album, 'Versions is about the bone of the music; taking approximations from past records and turning them inside out. With all framework exposed, the songs are given a new medium in which to evolve and bloom into their own tiny worlds.' The show went over amazingly well with the Village Voice proclaiming that Zola Jesus 'conquered the Guggenheim' and eMusic writing, 'Nika Roza Danilova's performance was not confined by the normal genres and subgenres we affix to music, it was truly art.' Removing the bulk of electronics from these songs gives them the space to breath, thusly opening them up to be received by a much wider audience who perhaps don't normally venture into the techno-pop/ industrial arena. Look for select Zola Jesus dates this fall with JG and quartet in Berlin, Chicago, Los Angeles, London, Seattle, New York and Paris, including a stop at Asheville's Mountain Oasis Festival.

An Awesome Wave is the debut studio album by English indie rock band alt-J, released on 25 May 2012 by Infectious Records. The album includes the singles "Matilda"/"Fitzpleasure", "Breezeblocks" and "Tessellate". It peaked at number thirteen on the UK Albums Chart, and also charted in Belgium, France, Netherlands and Switzerland. An Awesome Wave won the 2012 British Barclaycard Mercury Prize, and in 2013 was named Album of the Year at the Ivor Novello Awards.

Combining dark electronica with organic orchestration, the anticipated second album of The Irrepressibles, "Nude", is expansive and atmospheric in it's orchestration with powerful melodies and iconoclastic arrangements. On their 2010 debut album, "Mirror Mirror", the group carved a new frontier in pop with their influence seen on much of today's music scene. The Irrepressibles fuse classical orchestration, grunge rock, kitsch, exotica, electronica, sound art, jazz, samba, and folk into a heady and emotional style of music that is created instinctively, playfully and cathartically by J.R.McDermott.
