It’s fitting that Still Corners would call their major-label debut something as elementarily ghoulish as Creatures of an Hour. The half-American, half-English duo makes seductively eerie electro-pop, with inspiration coming in equal shares from the legendary Euro-centric synthwave movement and heralded Italian horror-flick soundtracks. Like the cinephiles they are, Still Corners emphasis mood and atmosphere as the most important part of their music – with Greg Hughes likening himself to something of a director. It must be working; it got them signed to Sub Pop after all. Creatures of an Hour is set for release on Oct. 11.

As COCTEAU TWINS guitarist and producer, Robin Guthrie is the man responsible for creating that famous sound and opening the door for My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Ride, et al. Darla Records is very proud to offer Robin Guthrie's second instrumental album Continental. Dare I say... continental is Robin's strongest all-instrumental bliss out, or make out, record since Cocteau Twins. Robin gives more heart and soul on Continental than on his previous instrumental release Imperial. Continental is more focused, stronger in feeling, and in composition. Of course all of Robin's signature elements are here: Shimmering guitars, ethereal moods as fluid and deep as any of Eno's, and yes, he does at times thankfully bring the rock. Robin's music is a treasure. He's one of the great all-time heroes of the current bliss pop generation, which includes Mahogany, Auburn Lull, Ulrich Schnauss, Manual, Sweet Trip, Windy & Carl, Landing, Aarktica, Yellow6, and many, many others.

Love Spirals Downwards emerged in the early 1990's as one of the forerunners of a style of ethereal, blissful pop termed shoegazer by the music press. The duo's 1992 debut release, Idylls, introduced listeners to a unique, sumptuous sound of layered, interwoven guitar textures and warm, lilting female vocals. Creating a style that was as much about mood as melody, Love Spirals Downwards quickly gained a loyal stronghold of fans eager to embark on this fervent excursion.

Dark, disturbing, and beautiful, His Name Is Alive's Home Is in Your Head develops the deceptively simple, abstractly emotional music they introduced on Livonia. Held together by Warren Defever's artful production, its 23 songs range from jealous contemplation to spiritual concerns, from gentle folk to white noise guitar outbursts. Karin Oliver's supple voice lends itself to an array of musical and emotional settings: she's acidly sweet on "The Charmer"'s brittle taunt "Where is your head now?/I should nail it to her door/Where are your hands now?/I know what you'd use them for." On "Why People Disappear," she's pensive: "Maybe I know as much as I ever will/We've been forever." The numerous instrumentals and interludes add to the overall yearning, searching mood. "Her Eyes Were Huge Things" builds subtle strumming and Oliver's sighs into an evocative spell, while "Hope Called in Sick" crashes in with loud, wailing guitars. The group's sound collages also find more purpose here than on Livonia; the chanting children on "Put Your Finger in Your Eye" are downright unnerving, and "Spirit and Body" conjures a story of loss out of a ticking watch and just-audible snippets of conversation. With the oddly comforting finale, "Dreams Are of the Body," Home Is in Your Head completes a seamless exploration of music and emotion. The Rykodisc reissue also includes the group's hard-to-find The Dirt Eaters EP. Named for Defever's rock-oriented side project, it features the spooky, subtly dissonant cover of Rainbow's "Man on the Silver Mountain," Ivo Watts-Russell's bleak remix of "Are We Still Married?," and "The Dirt Eaters'" pastoral art folk. Added to Home Is in Your Head, it represents the band's best early work.

中国北京籍个体音乐创作者Pavane，生于1981年1月4日。中学时代买打口，并开始独立学习吉他。1999年入北京理工大学学习物理。大学时代一直听古典，吉他练习亦暂停。2002（2000?）年后半段与朋友组成团体翻玩Suede的作品，并重拾吉他。2003年开始使用个人电 脑创作音乐。

2004年5月个人方式手工制作了demo专辑《beddibye》，限量100份有编号，同年8月远赴丹麦留学专攻声学。2005年1月19日在由ZaOYiN Record与粮食唱片合作的新厂牌推出6曲EP（或者迷你专辑？）《Fine》（LZCD-01）。风格由第一张专辑里尚显青稚的对4AD之声的模仿成熟为第二张细碟里的氛围化Dream-Pop，颇似英国同期走红的July Skies。

秋天的灰色安慰”被人说成像“双生鸟（Ｃｏｃｔｅａｕ Ｔｗｉｎｓ）”，除了因为同样有天使嗓音的女主唱，还因为同样有一位长于制造梦幻的吉他手。但是，Ｓｃｏｔｔ Ｆｅｒｒｅｌｌ的吉他和“双生鸟”的又不一样，他并没有采用多轨吉他的混合，纯粹是依靠音色和旋律的飘忽。而Ｅｒｉｎ，也没有太多的假声。
因此，“秋天的灰色安慰”和“双生鸟”只能算是形似而神采各异。相对来说，他们的梦幻不会缤纷绚烂，却轻盈而明丽。在《越过海洋（Ｏｖｅｒ Ｔｈｅ Ｏｃｅａｎ）》里，第５首《新的黎明（Ｎｅｗ Ｄａｗｎ）》算是他们风格的典型：轻快的吉他节奏和错落的鼓点，Ｅｒｉｎ轻轻唱着，一个更轻的和声合着，仿佛梦境不会醒来；却在一个轻妙的转弯后，唱声变成了拖曳的“啊”音，飘飘摇摇、轻微起伏地向前，如林间的一个小精灵，在破晓前快要醒来的梦里，由她牵引着你，于薄雾中，于潮湿的古树间，向着有稀薄亮光的深处奔去。
