Four years following the release of their last album, Tonight (and its dub companion, Blood), Scottish indie stars Franz Ferdinand have returned with new album Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action, out on Domino on August 27 in the U.S. and August 26 in the UK
A limited "Passport Edition" of the album will come with the album on double vinyl in a hand-numbered sleeve as well as the album on CD, a bonus 7" with two non-album tracks, a live studio recording called Right Notes, Right Words, Wrong Order, a bonus 12", four postcards (each from one member of the band), and more.

dEUS return with a new album on October 3rd. ‘Keep You Close’ is the follow up to 2008’s ‘Vantage Point’ and was recorded at the band’s own studio in their home city of Antwerp over a six month period with producers David Botrill and Adam Noble.
‘Keep You Close’ is released by PIAS on October 3rd and September 19th in Europe.

Since their modest beginnings as four guys who drove around southern California with their gear in their cars, packing whatever they could steal a space, Cold War Kids have always exhibited two qualities in their music, intense passion and emotional truth. Lithe and percussive, roaring and tuneful, the soul-punk on the Long Beach quartet's first two albums Robbers & Cowards and Loyalty To Loyalty emerged like miniature goth novels. Singer Nathan Willett channeled taut dramas of men on the edge, families in peril, and crises of faith. The musical literature of these four tight-knit friends-Willett, Jonnie Russell, Matt Maust and Matt Aveiro was a sound that augured something bigger, something more universal.

Over the past two years, Yukon Blonde has earned no shortage of acclaim for its hook-heavy brand of pop rock. From having their debut album Polaris Music Prize listed, to being talked about on the major US Network television show How I Met Your Mother, Yukon Blonde has been turning heads everywhere they go. But despite their love of vintage rock 'n' roll, the members aren't the kind of guys who cling to the past.

In Time To Voices is the third album by Brighton based rock band Blood Red Shoes, to be released on 26 March 2012 in the UK and Europe through V2 Records. The album was recorded and mixed in Autumn 2011 as a co-production with Mike Crossey, and is to be preceded by the single "Cold" on 19 March 2012.

乐团的成立可追溯回1986年﹐贝斯手Herman Bunskoeke和吉他手Peter Visser是当时另一支乐团De Artsen的团员﹐主唱Carol van Dijk当时是De Artsen的录音师﹐鼓手Berend Dubbe则处理乐团的巡回演唱事务。1991年﹐De Artsen在发表专辑"Conny Waves With A Shell"后解散。没多久乐团重组为Bettie Serveert﹐1992一月年他们首次录制完成七首歌曲的demo﹐其中一卷流传到Matador唱片公司两大老板Chris和Gerrard的桌上﹐两人不但对他们的音乐大感兴趣﹐还立刻飞到荷兰和乐团谈签约的事宜。
Matador签下 Bettie Serveert第一张专辑"Palomine"的美﹑加的发行权﹐英国与其它国家则是4AD下属的Guernica唱片公司。Carol van Dijk高昂甜美的声音﹑乐团流畅与噪音兼混的吉他风格﹐以及造型突出的封面设计让"Palomine"成为一张好评不断的专辑﹐例如当时Spin杂志便曾赞誉"Palomine"是一张「独立摇滚乐史上听起来最成熟的一张专辑」﹐在英国﹐虽然4AD的老板Ivo非常钟爱Bettie Serveert的音乐﹐甚至表明将不计任何代价留下乐团﹐但是在Bettie Serveert不满意4AD并未对乐团付出足够的宣传之后﹐结束了与4AD的宾主关系转投Beggars Banquet旗下。
1995年1月﹐Bettie Serveert发表了他们的第二张专辑"Lamprey"﹐虽然旋律上没有"Palomine"来的甜美动听﹐但整体仍然明显的表现出乐团在演奏上的进步﹐英国Melody Maker周报曾形容" Lamprey"是当年「最纠缠﹑荒凉﹑真实的吉他之声」。接下来在和Belly﹑ Dinosaur Jr.﹑Buffalo Tom﹑Superchunk﹑Come﹑和Jeff Buckley等乐团紧密的合作巡回演出造势下﹐Bettie Serveert此时的声势已攀上顶点﹐成为非主流乐界中一支重要的美声吉他乐团。
1997年初﹐Bettie Serveert蕴酿许久的第三张专辑"Dust Bunnies"终于问世﹐吉他声响再度缠绵于的旋律美丑的两极端间﹐在Lemonheads般的流畅和铿锵有力错综复杂的编制间游走﹐搭配的是主唱Carol van Dijk更具多样情感的美声表现﹐两年的等待也许是久了点﹐但是等到一张让人沉醉倾听的专辑时又有何遗憾呢?

Emotion is kind of the thing that drives the psychedelic peppy pop created by the oft-effervescent Oberhofer. Like th e brain child of Brian Wilson and Descartes, he s fixated on the idea of his philosophically minded, energetic melodic romps making people happy-mostly because it s all he can bear to think about. Referring to his music in total as a time capsule of exactly how I m feeling at a given moment , each song is a clear unrestrained look inside the Oberhofer vault. And, between Like Gold , a reflection on two magical weeks spent with a first love that inadvertently kicked off his current project, Away From U , an upbeat goodbye whose commercial sync garnered enough money to move out of his addict-filled apartment and the Gotta Go , the interpretation of bidding a woman adieu while also saying goodbye to your old process of getting work done, his heart s on his sleeve, on paper, and all over everything he creates.

Heaven was recorded between November 2011 to March 2012 in Seattle and in the woods of Washington.[1][2][3][4] The album was produced by Phil Ek and featured contributions from Fleet Foxes' Robin Pecknold and Morgan Henderson and Cocteau Twins' Simon Raymonde.[5][3] The reason the band wanted to work with Phil Ek's was that they were impressed by Ek's work on Helplessness Blues.[3] Hamilton Leithauser described the recording process for Heaven as the band's easiest one yet.[6] Like with other more recent Walkmen albums, guitarist Paul Maroon wrote song outlines for the rest of the band to fill in the parts and lyrics.[7]
Hamilton Leithauser described Heaven as "lush-sounding" and "big and optimistic and fun and grand." The album's title was meant to reflect those vibes.[6] Frank Sinatra heavily influenced the singing on the album.
Heaven was released to positive critical acclaim.[22]
Allmusic's Heather Phares gave the album a positive review, writing "[..] [E]ven if it's not the band's most cohesive work, Heaven comes across as a more or less triumphant culmination of the Walkmen's first decade, and the fact that happiness fits the band better than anyone could have expected is just a welcome bonus."[14] In another positive review, Sarah McCarty of Paste wrote the while the later tracks were weaker, "Heaven is a testament to The Walkmen’s triumph. After a decade, disappointment no longer possesses the power to defeat them. The Walkmen survive. They can’t be beat."[18] The A.V. Club's Steven Hyden, referring to how all the band members were fathers, wrote "Heaven is a dad-rock record in a different, truer sense. It’s an album of big adult themes: the weight of responsibility, the realization that romantic infatuation is fleeting and probably bullshit, the power of fidelity and loyalty to outlast momentary sensation and passion." Hyden concluded: "After 10 years and seven albums, Heaven finds The Walkmen in a better place."
While still giving a positive review, Popmatters' Matthew Fiander criticized Heaven for being "[..] a bit too schmaltzy," writing You can’t fault Leithauser for singing so sweetly to his daughter on 'Song for Leigh' or to his best friend on 'Heaven', but the declarations of those songs feel insular, only for that one person, and the rest of us are left to merely listen in."[20] Ben Schumer of Under the Radar also criticized the album in an otherwise positive review, writing "After 10 years together, a band typically grows more polished and mature, but it's difficult not to feel that something essential and elemental to The Walkmen's aesthetic is missing from most of Heaven-that palpable sense of urgency on display throughout their catalogue is on display far too little.
