Sophomore album for the German pop Casanova. 'Rose' is completely free of the 'classic Brit-Pop influences' as one could still hear them on the first album. Looking for comparisons you´d be tending more towards tracks by Sigur Ros, maybe also Simon and Garfunkel or even Suede. Maximilian has become more daring especially with his lyrics, very personal, exposed and denuding they´ve become, poetic and sensual. 90年代，流行樂壇吹起了一陣以柔美女聲與電子音樂旋律為主軸的個人/團體，Mono、DubStar、Moloko…，一時間在盡是搖滾的流行樂春水上，吹出了一圈圈的漣漪。是以為流行風向球轉向以柔克剛的角度，豈知道這一轉不分左右地成黑色一片。雖說音樂沒有好壞，但聽多了同質性越來越高的說唱嘿呦之後，又不禁懷念那如閒雲野鶴的曲調。
來自南加州的雙人組合The Bird and The Bee小鳥與蜜蜂，一位是師承大師Charles Mingus鋼琴師Jaki Byard、在青少年時期便已是一個爵士鋼琴奇葩的Greg Kurstin，熟稔多種器樂演奏。曾與Beck、Robert Moog合作，並為The Flaming Lips、Peaches及音樂小魔女Lily Allen等製作並創作歌曲。另一位是成長於洛城的音樂世家，父親是70年代著名南方搖滾團體Little Feat的主唱兼吉他手Lowell George，曾發行個人專輯作品All Rise，並已是洛城獨立音樂界噹噹有名的Inara George。在製作人Mike Andrews的介紹牽線下合體而成。他們共同創作， Inara負責演唱，Greg主理器樂，在創意的發揮上，相互交流，又在樂曲的表現上各司其職。重塑並創新了傳統的bossa nova，the bird and the bee希望將自己融會在經典與流行之間。用三年的時光，他們窩在Greg位在加州Echo Park自家錄音室裡與世無爭地創作出10首陽光浸潤且充滿夢幻的作品。每一首歌曲都有著一種神秘獨特的魅力。

A broad range of influences shine through on this album, from the Kinks, through to punk, Stone Roses, a touch of Soul 2 Soul, 80s' indie, Madness, Blondie, Motown, Britpop and even one inspired by their UK number four hit single 'Fuck Forever'. From capturing the feeling at sunrise after a night on the tiles, to delving into a self-destructive 20 year marriage ('Baddie's Boogie') this is an album of rare emotional breadth. Restlessly inventive improvising trio Medeski Martin & Wood have embarked on an ingenious new experiment dubbed The Radiolarian Series.
In February Medeski Martin & Wood began their Viva La Evolution Tour a three run, three record project. In direct contrast to they way things are usually done MMW decided to spend 2008 composing the skeleton of new music, taking it on the road to flesh out the composition, and finally putting the by now well played notes down as tracks. Three times. Radiolarians 1 is the first in this 3 record series.
Radiolarians (also radiolaria) are amoeboid protozoa that produce intricate mineral skeletons, typically with a central capsule dividing the cell into inner and outer portions, called endoplasm and ectoplasm. "
These "Unicellular Planktonic Marine Organisms" grow their intricately beautiful patterned skeleton around their soft core in defiance of normal biological process, similarly to Medeski Martin and Woods latest creative cycle.
Some of the best examples of Radiolaria can be found in German Biologist Ernst Haeckel's book Art Forms From The Ocean: The Radiolarian Atlas Of 1862.
