Venom are an English extreme metal band formed in Newcastle in 1978. Coming to prominence towards the end of the new wave of British heavy metal, Venom's first two albums, Welcome to Hell (1981) and Black Metal (1982), are considered major influences on thrash metal and extreme metal in general.

专辑<VASTIIA TENEBRD MORTIFERA> 发行时间:2004年与ALCEST近乎相同，MORTIFERA一样为旋律见长的乐队，大段大段流畅且“入耳即融”的RIFF铺满通篇，每个音符的跳动间无不散发的是一种伤感抑郁的情愫。但音乐气质却不禁全然，如果说ALCEST给我的是那种不食人间烟火且恍若隔世的沧桑感，那么MORTIFERA便给我的是另一种对黑暗美学的定义和伤痛中蕴涵着的隐柔的暴力。而以前提到的法国黑金属团具有的独特的浪漫情节也在MORTIFERA身上体现的淋漓尽至。第五首“CIEL BROUILLE”伴着通篇的轮拨，感觉仿佛自己犹如一个远行客在时光的跋涉中去回望自己的足迹，而MORTIFERA的音乐也正是一把遗落在漫漫的历史长河中开启未知的钥匙。第八首“AUX CONFINS DES TENEBRSS”将整张情绪推向高潮，音乐响起，危机四伏的吉他原声分解带着隐隐的晦涩。如潮汐前的沙滩平静的等待着暴风骤雨的突袭。逐渐情绪愈加高涨，点点滴落、渗透。片刻等待之后，随着主唱的哀叹，第一抹的浪花随即拍打而来，还不算猛烈，另一把吉他的分解合旋依旧带你前行，弛入风浪的最深处。终于，在主唱一声近乎于万籁之鸣的哀啼中，将你再次卷入并推向浪端，酣畅淋漓之后，唯感美中不足之处是：在2’51''中，高潮过后情绪完全没有缓冲的过程，而是草草收场。落差间让我有一种难以名状的失落感。但总体来说，无论从录音或器乐编配各个方面来看，“VASTIIA TENEBRD MORTIFERA”无疑都是一张上乘之作。
