在随后的两年时间里，日常的苦闷与琐碎、对超验主义的理想与爱、城市之间的无目的流转、以及外部环境的剧烈变化，与脑海中“蚊虫山”的记忆嘈杂交错，汇聚成《Xia Ye》的叙事碎片。Night Swimmer 在模拟电子、采样及人声之中溯源音乐记忆里的世纪末 New Age 以及各类乡间神秘仪式的声响，在传统中国乐器声色和幽暗旋律中勾连回忆与现在，呈现一次完整的内部探索之旅。
《Xia Ye》并非对当下的精神困境之解药，它是对个体危机、精神变迁与自然慰藉的一次记录。每个人都可以在这块闲暇旷野之地感获某种意义，于现实风暴之中寻得新的安宁。
During a nighttime visit to a mountain called “蚊虫山” (Mosquito Hill), located in his hometown, Huanggang, Hubei Province, the idea for Night Swimmer’s full-length album, Xia Ye, came into being under the bleak and harsh background of a city lockdown, during the early outbreaks of COVID 19. The journey began with an unrestrained and immersive exploration into the nocturnal wilderness of the mountain. The dim-colored environment refreshed and inspired his mind without any human contact. Yet, the thoughts of the chaos and ordeals rampaging in the external world began to resurge, relentlessly lashing back at his long-lost mental serenity; A spiritual terrain was formed and modified.
In the following two years, every aspect of his life: the intermittent gloom and triviality of daily living, the continuing ideal and love for transcendentalism, the nomadic wanderings among cities, and some looming befuddlement over the still-happening chaos around this world, all turned into winds and waves carving this spiritual landscape and finally condensed into the symbols behind each track in Xia Ye. In Chinese, Xia Ye can mean either chill night or chill field. To delineate this transformed state of mind, Night Swimmer employed analog synths, organic samples and human voices that are essentially redolent of his listening experiences of 90s New Age music and local rituals in his hometown when he was a child. Xia Ye meanders through the past and the present via traditional Chinese instrumental sounds and melodies, conjuring up a wholesome inquiry into this imagined field of self.
Xia Ye is not an antidote to the spiritual crisis of the contemporary world. It is a memoir of the transformation of the inner self. But, these sounds and melodies can hopefully help achieve some meaning and peacefulness for those also finding themselves lost amid the realistic, grueling storms spreading worldwide.

The valley beyond time
There were stories of how the trees would speak to each other about the mystical beings that danced amongst them, how the winds would blow them into each other's path, the rumours say the music was born amongst crystalline stars and it rained down on those below, casting a musical silhouette upon them.
The trees would say that these droplets would create the memories for tomorrow and bring a sense of belonging amongst the commotion of daily existence.
This is an invitation to tune into the never forgotten symphony of the heart and let the present moment rain upon you.

Sleep is holy – yet we don’t always cherish the beauty of the dream world. We escape rest to run in circles, chasing goals that seem more attractive than the fragile calmness of deep sleep. In this over saturated world, we may reach a point of no return and find ourselves at the edge of sanity. We could take an honest look at ourself and step back from this sporting life. But we’re holding on to the promises of the 24/7 mentality, yet constantly looking for alternative ways to survive the pace of a modern world.
Somniferum is perpetually offering options for moments of relaxation. You might want to turn down the lights with one of the most powerful mantras known to mankind. Its temptation constantly calls for the long distance runner and it is hard to beat its patience. One day you might wake up and realise that it’s too late - the holy mountain has moved and won't easily get back into place.

How can you give electronic music a feeling?
Everyone has their own way of answering this question and there are many paths to the goal. Landhouse goes his own way and stays true to himself. Nevertheless, he always develops his sound a little further, so that you notice that there is a person behind this project.
The Goomland Ep is a journey from slow tech to classic anecdotes with a lot of ambient. If you listen to the last track you will be rewarded with the fabulous "Plenten Tum". A track that has already caused great enthusiasm at the first listening of the demo.

Malik Faquir circles back to Moodfamily for another round. His “Nonchalantly” EP offers five more delicately crafted grooves, pushing and pulling away at your eardrums. No instant satisfaction, just pure - stripped back - power.
His unnerving yet efficient rhythms and whacked out synthesizer leads tear through speakers like a hot knife through butter. What comes is bumpy, relentless and unapologetic. It’s quite a spectacle to be on Malik Faquir’s rollercoaster. We raise the glass to this cheeky master in wonky strangeness and bending deep grooves.

„Dantengo“, sounds like we are waking up to a colorful spring morning that greets us with thousands of sound ideas and mystic surprises.
Lots of Crackles and Rustles create a thrilling atmosphere through the whole EP.

Dimensions Recordings are very proud to present ‘Decision Time’, the first major solo album from the legendary Charles Webster in two decades.
Operating in house music since the mid ‘80s, Charles Webster is revered as something like the producer’s producer, spoken about in the same breath as Larry Heard or Ron Trent amongst the DJ cognoscenti.
Growing up in the Peak District and falling in love with electronic music through a parent’s Kraftwerk record, Charles’ apprenticeship was with Juan Atkins and Kevin Saunderson, back when they’d record at Square Dance studio in Nottingham, where Charles worked as a recording engineer. His production work started right at the roots of electronic music in the British Isles, writing tracks for electro/breakdance outfit The Rock City Crew and 1987 UK house cut T-CUT-F. Since then he’s released music under 30 different pseudonyms with over 500 remixes.
‘Decision Time’ is Charles’ first major solo record since 2001’s ‘Born On The 24th July’, and features an array of artists from a number of different eras, guises and genres Charles has been involved with over his prolific career.
After moving to San Francisco in the late nineties, he created an album under the alias Presence entitled ‘All Systems Gone’. The “pillowy” sound design of this classic is cited as a key influence on the music of Burial. For ‘Decision Time’, Burial has paid a further tribute here, contributing a rare co-production, ‘The Second Spell’. This track featuring the words of Prince muse Ingrid Chavez. who also wrote the spoken word poetry in Madonna’s ‘Justify My Love’.
Charles was at the forefront of the halcyon years of deep house, working with vocal talents like Robert Owens, Tracey Thorn, Terra Deva (aka Furry Freaks), who features here on ‘Wait And See’, and Shara Nelson, perhaps best known for her vocals on Massive Attack’s ‘Blue Lines’ album, featuring here on ‘This Is Real’.
Charles’ influence also spreads to the South African house scene with his Presence single ‘Better Day’ becoming a huge radio hit there in 1997. Charles later moved to South Africa and immersed himself in the local scene, collaborating with some of the country's most exciting talent, including Sio, Thandi Draai and Sipho – all of whom appear on this project.
With an album of this quality and the 20-year cycles of electronic culture, it feels like this is the perfect moment to celebrate the brilliance of Charles Webster’s legacy. From the downtempo soul of ‘This Is Real’, to the impressionistic words and ethereal two-step on ‘The Spell’, a new generation of ears are about to discover the influential underground sound of Charles Webster.

Clear water hits the surface of a grainy ball. The stream slowly dissolves and flows down the spherical structure until it finally drops on a candle. The flame extinguishes; fragile streaks of smoke ascend until they hit the rough surface of the colossal globe again.
The cover art to Marble Arch, the second long-player of Vienna- and Berlin-based artists Oberst & Buchner, depicts masterly the dramatic juxtapositions the musicians have always been reflecting in their musical outcome.
The massive density of a giant sound wall is contrasted by spacious openness. Fragile sonic details are sparkling out of colossal pitch-black clouds. The songs are filled with gentle warmth and cold roughness, bright digital clarity and deep analogue crackle, ranging in style from pulsating dark-disco over classic pop to experimental ambient.
The duo’s two-week artist residency in a 250-year-old house, located in the mystic landscape of the Bavarian woods set this specific mood for the 10-track album which became a mixture of electronic synthesis, organic instrumentals and field recordings. Heavy-weight basslines in combination with bitter-sweet orchestral instrumentation and the minutiae of precise percussion recordings and drum programming are the characteristics that formed the sound of Marble Arch.
Oberst & Buchner’s way to deal with tension is in how they compose their song structures as extreme arcs of suspense in a near classical manner. Their intense dynamic arrangements always alternate between rise and explosion or implosion and fall. This way the compositions pick up the motive of creation and destruction throughout the long-player in the same way as the cover-art.
Taken together, all these fragments form the duo`s signature cinematic articulation of dramatic slowed down club music and moments of surprise.
