Blackjack was a gangsta rap group from East Palo Alto, California, made up of rappers Black Jack, DSP, and Young AKayser. Their second album, “Addicted To Drama” was released in 1996 by Penalty Recordings and produced by Gentry Reed (Black Jack).

Killafornia was a gangsta rap collective from Compton, California, made up of rappers Tha Chill and Boom Bam (from Comptons Most Wanted, MC Eiht, South Central Cartel, Wize Guyz, Hard Times, Bonaphyde, Tray Dee (from the LBC Crew), Killa and Dazzy D. Their debut album, “Organization” was released in 1996 by Killa Cali Records / Thug Records and produced by 3 Strikes Prod.

The Ballers was a gangsta rap group from Orlando, Florida. Their debut album, “A Day Late And A Dollar Short” was released in 1997 by Black Eye Records in association with Ichiban Records. The album was executive produced by Toneye “Rome” Brown.

Kam (born Craig Miller in Los Angeles, California) is a political emcee known primarily among hip hop fans and music critics during the 1990s. Born in Los Angeles, he is considered an esteemed West Coast underground rapper. He is known for his Nation of Islam-influenced lyrics and membership, and affiliation with his cousin, fellow West Coast emcee Ice Cube. He is also known for his powerfully commanding baritone voice and knack for using multisyllabic rhymes. He has only released two albums since his well-received 1993 debut album “Neva Again”. That album featured inflammatory anti-government lyrics and hit single “Peace Treaty,” a song about the 1992 Watts gang treaty.
His first appearance on record was with the song “Every Single Weekend” from the 1991 “Boyz N The Hood” soundtrack. Since then, he has collaborated with artists including Ice Cube, Erick Sermon, MC Ren, C-Bo, DJ Quik, DJ Pooh, Tha Eastsidaz, Method Man, KRS-One, Snoop Dogg, Dresta, B.G. Knocc Out, Yukmouth, and Public Enemy, among others. He has released music on two record labels, East West Records and JCOR Entertainment. “Made in America” is the second album released by Kam. It was released on March 14, 1995 for East West Records and was produced by DJ Battlecat, DJ Quik, E-A-Ski, Warren G and Cold 187um, among others. This was Kam’s last album for East West Records.

Poppa LQ (born Kenneth Green) is a gangsta rap artist from South Central Los Angeles, California. His debut album, “Your Entertainment, My Reality” was released in 1995 by Houston-based hip-hop label Rap-A-Lot Records in association with Noo Trybe Records. The album was produced by DJ Battlecat, Jason Lewis, Joseph Jonhson, Kenneth Green, Mike Dean, and Tony Dennis.

Lil Fly (real name Gary Hudson) is a hip-hop/rap artist from the Fillmore district of San Francisco, California. His debut EP, “Bonafide Playa” was released in 1995 by Rag Top Records and was produced by Al Eaton (One Little Indian Studio), The Enhancer (Bayview Productions), T.C. & Regi-Reg (Premiere Productions). It features appearances by Rappin 4-Tay, The Banksta and Franky J. The album art was done by Phunky Phat Graph-X.

Rappin’ Ron & Ant Diddley Dog was a hip-hop/rap duo from the Eastside of Oakland, California. Their debut album, “Bad N-Fluenz” was released in 1995 by Cell Block Records and was produced by Ant Banks, G.O. Twice, B. Branch, Mike and Sonny. The album art was designed by Dawg Eat Dawg Designz.

One of the best G-Funk albums released out of the California. Members include D-Shoot, GF, Bias, and SOS representing different parts of the Bay Area (Oakland, East Palo Alto, Stockton). If you like that old school Westcoast sound with smooth vocals then this is a must have for your collection.

The Twinz are a hip hop duo from Long Beach, California, consisting of twin brothers Deon “Trip Locc” Williams and Dewayne “Wayniac” Williams. After working with Warren G on his debut album Regulate…G Funk Era, the Twinz released their own debut album Conversation. The album was released on August 22, 1995 through Def Jam Recordings and was almost entirely produced by Warren G. Two charting singles were released from the album, “Round & Round” and “Eastside LB”.
