‘Seven Days Walking’: seven bodies of music to be released over seven consecutive months. The first, ‘Seven Days Walking: Day One’, which interweaves piano and strings in his unmistakable style, is Einaudi’s 14th studio album and will be released on 15th March, on Decca. ‘Seven Days Walking: Day Two’ follows a month later. Each ‘day’ is then released, digitally, a month apart, leading up to ‘Day Seven’ which will be released in the autumn in a box-set of the complete Seven Days. Inspiration for the entire project derived from walks that Einaudi would take through the mountains in winter. He explains, "In January last year I often went for long walks in the mountains, always following more or less the same trail. It snowed heavily, and my thoughts roamed free inside the storm, where all shapes, stripped bare by the cold, lost their contours and colours. Perhaps that feeling of extreme essence was the origin of this album." The first album focuses on several main themes, which then recur in different forms on the following albums – seven variations following the same imaginary itinerary. Or the same itinerary, retraced at seven different times.

Italian pianist and composer Ludovico Einaudi is sharing 12 new recordings with the world, all recorded at home on his own upright pian o in one evening during Italy’s lockdown.
Einaudi decided to record his 12 Songs From Home, out digitally on 8 May, after being forced to postpone his tour due to coronavirus cancellations.
The composer explained: “I recorded 12 Songs From Home between March and April 2020 during the peak of Italy’s lockdown. In March I started to play live concerts regularly on social media.
“Switching on my phone to connect for 30-40 minutes with the world has been a beautiful and intimate alternative to the spring tour that I regrettably had to postpone. This new release is the memory of those home live concerts, my memory of this time, the memory of a strange and new atmosphere that we won’t forget.”
The special set of pieces, all recorded on Einaudi’s own iPhone, features some of his best-known works including 2004’s ‘Nuvole Bianche’, ‘Ascent’ from his mammoth Seven Days Walking project last year and ‘Elegy for the Arctic’, released in 2018 to highlight Greenpeace’s climate change campaign.

“When I came back from the hospital with a broken thumb and listened to the recordings, I felt they were unfinished. I decided to put them aside and started to work on my small album, Screws. Many many other notes of the piano have been struck since these days, and before we all forget about this, I thought it would be a good moment to share these lullabies with you. I hope they help you stay all strong and calm in these days of solitude – despite the hardship, we can discover introspection and reflection unexpectedly. Who knows what it is good for. ”

Ludovico Einaudi is back with a new project, Seven Days Walking: seven releases spanning seven months, featuring a new combination of piano/cello/violin but with a return to his trademark sound that has made him one of the most important and relevant composers today.
The project takes the idea of the same walk done over seven days, but each day the experience is different due to a variety of factors – the weather, the season, the walker's mood, the appearance of different wildlife, a new observation within the landscape and so on.
The first instalment, Seven Days Walking (Day 1), is significant as it establishes the project theme. The subsequent six variations on this theme (Seven Days Walking Days 2 to 7) will be released later this year and will feature stunning cello and violin arrangements, apart from Day 7 which is solely piano. This is essential Einaudi listening.

1955 年出生于意大利都灵的Ludovico Einaudi是著名的交响乐作曲家和钢琴演奏家。97年BMG出版了他的电子竖琴作品《Stanze》，一年后，他的一组钢琴独奏小品《Le Onde》问世。02年3月，《Eden Roc》进入英国古典音乐排行榜前十，而作品《I Giorni》自发行至今一直居于排行榜前二十。
Einaudi早先专门从事古典音乐的创作和电影的配乐，曲风深受巴哈、莫扎特、肖邦和法利亚.M等音乐家的影响。80年代中后期转向更自由的创作风格，意外地和新世纪音乐与极限主义走进同路。
