The Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio, also known as DLO3, is an American soul-jazz group founded in 2015. The band has released two albums. Their debut album, titled Close But No Cigar, charted at number one on the U.S. Contemporary Jazz Albums chart.

Electric Funk is an album by the American jazz organist Jimmy McGriff of performances recorded in 1969 and released on the Blue Note label.

這人你可能未曾聽過, 但他卻是美國底特律很低調卻不可忽略的音樂人之一.
Lyman Woodard最早曾在1960年代為Motown的靈魂樂女子團體Martha and the Vandellas擔任音樂監製, 所以你能在他的音樂裡聽到濃濃的靈魂氣息.
值得一提的是, 後來Lyman和鼓手Melvin Davis以及吉他手Dennis Coffy合組過三人樂團, 然後以Dennis Coffy個人名義在1967年發了張專輯《Hair And Thangs》, 如果你聽過Dennis Coffy的funk breaks, 那你應該也能猜想到Lyman的音樂也同樣funky. 當你聽見他的soulful電風琴音，是否也會讓你聯想到Jimmy Smith或Lonnie Smith一掛的靈魂爵士樂手？

26才で夭逝した貴公子、生涯の記録。三保敬太郎が後輩のレーサー、福沢幸雄の事故死を悼んで制作したアルバム。アソシエーションやボサ・ノヴァのレパートリーに混じって、三保のオリジナルも収録。スキャットやフルートの美しくも悲しい調べとクロスオーヴァーするエキゾースト・ノートや場内放送。伊集加代子のスキャットに乗せ、三保と福沢がファッションやパリのクラブについて語る“パリの想い出”が白眉。60年代のサブ・カルチャーを垣間見るドキュメンタリーとしても貴重な作品。オリジナル・リリース1969年。

Simply stunning 46 minute album. It floats and melts and is beautiful and mesmerizing. Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders and the London Symphony Orchestra joining together for an album for the ears, heart and soul.

In February 2018, Roy Ayers performed four sold out shows in Los Angeles as part of the Jazz Is Dead Black History Month series. It wasn’t until 2020 that fans of Ayers discovered that in addition to those shows, the legendary vibraphone player had also recorded an entire album of new material with Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad.
Over the course of its eight original compositions, written collaboratively by Younge, Shaheed Muhammad & Ayers and recorded at Younge’s Linear Labs in Los Angeles, the resulting album sounds both like an unearthed an unreleased album from Ayers’ classic period in the 1970s (which produced the oft-sampled “Red, Black & Green,” “We Live In Brooklyn, Baby,” “Everybody Loves The Sunshine,” and “Running Away), as well as something startling, new and unexpected.
Joining Ayers, Younge & Shaheed Muhammad on this musical journey are drummer Greg Paul, vocalists Loren Oden, Joy Gilliam, Saudia Yasmein, Elgin Clark & Anitra Castleberry, as well as Phil Ranelin & Wendell Harrison of the legendary Spiritual Jazz label Tribe Records.
The 8 tracks on this album testify to the love not only of a legendary musician’s legacy, but to the vitality & necessity of this music and these sounds in the present era, a thread that will likely run throughout all of the upcoming releases from Jazz Is Dead Records.

Gene Harris never veered closer to mainstream jazz-funk than Tone Tantrum -- a slick, propulsive record recalling Donald Byrd's classic sessions with the Mizell brothers (not surprising, given that Byrd turns up on a few tracks here). It's very much a product of its time, channeling influences from underground disco to Stevie Wonder, and remains arguably the most blatantly commercial release in the entire Blue Note catalog. Paired with singer/keyboardist Jerry Peters, bassist Chuck Rainey, and drummer Harvey Mason, Harris' smooth, slinky Fender Rhodes grooves are couched in lush strings and shimmering backing vocals. Still, while the sound is radio-friendly, the quality and complexity of the performances serve as a potent reminder that Tone Tantrum is first and foremost a jazz record, and a solid (if unconventional) one at that, purists be damned.

Delvon Lamarr Organ Trio-or as it is sometimes referred to, DLO3-specialize in the lost art of "feel good music." The ingredients of this intoxicating cocktail include a big helping of the 1960s organ jazz stylings of Jimmy Smith and Baby Face Willette; a pinch of the snappy soul strut of Booker T. & The M.G.'s and The Meters; and sprinkles Motown, Stax Records, blues, and cosmic Jimi Hendrix-style guitar. It's a soul-jazz concoction that goes straight to your heart and head makes your body break out in a sweat.
The band features organist Delvon Lamarr, a self-taught virtuosic musician, with perfect pitch who taught himself jazz and has effortlessly been able to play a multitude of instruments. On guitar is the dynamo Jimmy James who eases through Steve Cropper-style chanking guitar, volcanic acid-rock freak-out lead playing, and slinky Grant Green style jazz. From Reno, Nevada is drummer Dan Weiss (also of the powerhouse soul and funk collective The Sextones). Dan's smoldering pocket-groove drumming locks in the trio's explosive chemistry. Founded by Larmarr's wife and manager Amy Novo, the trio started from humble beginnings in 2015, but since then has released two Billboard charting albums and toured the world to sold out venues. The trio returns now with their second studio album, I Told You So, with even heavier grooves and more confidence. It may have been several years since their most recent studio effort, but they haven't missed a beat.

Chapter Two is the second album by the American soul singer Roberta Flack. It was released in 1970 by Atlantic Records.
