Blur are set to release a new compilation to coincide with their summer comeback shows.
The double CD 'Midlife: A Beginners Guide To Blur' is released on June 15, and features 25 tracks.
Apparently it has been aimed at those who missed the band first time around, before their recent reformation, with a statement explaining that "the collection has been designed as an introduction for those who might have missed out on Blur's prolific recording career".

There needed to be a gloomy, remotely intimate glam pop group named after a character created by Franz Kafka who detuned their pained, pining guitars like the Velvet Underground, who screwed up dance beats with as much nimble knowingness and/or amateurish exuberance as Devo, who faced up to long lasting reality with as much sad, mad grace as Magazine, who got stuck into logic as defiantly as Pere Ubu, who had spent a lot of time watching Television and listening to the first six or seven songs written by the Buzzcocks. This is the third release in a series of Domino re-issues Past releases include: Orange Juice's "The Glasgow School" and Fire Enginess "Codex Teenage Premonition". Deluxe hardbound packaging.

Whirlpool is the debut album by British shoegazing band Chapterhouse. The album was reissued in 2006, on the label Cherry Red, with seven bonus tracks taken from three EPs (Freefall, Sunburst, and Pearl) released in the same time frame as the album. The Cherry Red reissue also included, for the first time, lyrics to all of the songs. The album spent 3 weeks in the UK Album chart in 1991, peaking at number 23.

Blur have announced that they will release 'The Magic Whip', their first album in 12 years, on April 27.
The band – Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree – made the announcement at press conference hosted by outgoing BBC Radio 1 presenter Zane Lowe at Chinese restaurant The Golden Phoenix in London's West End, which is ongoing at present.
The album's producer, Stephen Street, also attended.
Blur recorded an album's worth of material in five days in Hong Kong in May 2013.
However, in an interview published by NME in July 2014, Damon Albarn said that because he likes to work in shorter, more concentrated periods of time he feared that he would never return to the tracks the band made while in Asia.
"There are about 15 songs we recorded in Hong Kong," he said at the time. "The annoying thing is, if I'd been able to write the lyrics there and then about being there, we'd have finished the record. But sometimes, if you can't do it all at once, it dissipates really and I don't know what I'd sing about now with that record. There's some great tunes on there, but it may just be one of those records that never comes out."

Nowhere seems to hold consensus as the second-best record of the shoegaze era, and with very good reason. All of the common words, phrases, and adjectives commonly used with the short-lived subgenre fit properly here, and they're all positive, every one of them. Whir, whoosh, haze, swirl, ad nauseum -- this record holds all of these elements at their most exciting and mastered. But in the end, great pop records necessitate quality songs, which Nowhere delivers throughout. Undeniably, it's Ride's zenith -- dense, tight, hypnotic. "Seagull" serves as a dynamic opener; after a couple seconds of light feedback, bassist Steve Queralt kicks in with a rubbery, elliptical line (reminiscent of a certain Beatles song), which is soon followed by Andy Bell and Mark Gardener's guitar twists and Loz Colbert's alternately gentle and punishing drumming. After the upbeat "Kaleidoscope," the record falls into a tempo lull that initially seems impenetrable and meandering. However, patience reveals a five-song suite of sorts, full of lovely instrumental passages that are punctuated with violent jabs of manic guitars. The endlessly escalating "Polar Bear" is a high point, featuring expertly placed tom rolls from Colbert. The tempo picks up for the closing "Vapour Trail," a wistful pop song with chiming background guitars galore and mournful strings to close it out. The U.S. version was bolstered significantly with the remainder of the Fall EP ("Dreams Burn Down" having reappeared earlier in the record). "Taste" is one of their finest pure pop numbers; the moody/driving "Here and Now" rates well, and the five-minute "Nowhere" is a nasty distorto-freakout. [Nowhere was remastered and reissued by Ignition U.K. in 2001. Added to the 11 tracks featured on Sire's U.S. edition are the four selections from the equally wondrous Today Forever.]

今年的确是英伦音乐丰收的一年，我们看到了许多老将的复出，当然也有许多崭露头角的新人，而最轰动的莫过于这对临时组合，之前我已经大幅报道了这次合作，而且也让大家提前欣赏了他们的Ep作品，The Rascals也许对大家来说还相对陌生，我本人非常喜欢，只是现在越来越觉得他们的音乐有浓重的猴子味了，激进复古的朋克口味，突出的吉他Riff无论从演艺技巧上来说甚至都可以说是在模仿，那其实并不是我想要的。不知道Alex给他们灌输了多少理念，这次倒好，乾脆直接把领头的Kane拉过来合作，难道真的有点相见恨晚的感觉？前几天已经听过了专辑中的大部分歌曲，不过知道今天才收齐，按照Alex自己所说的，这会是张偏流行的作品， Bacharach-style pop？不清楚是啥风格，又或是创造他们自己所独特的风格来膜拜那些他们所欣赏的乐队，听来比较夸大，傲慢，甚至被外界评论为愚蠢的想法，但你还是不得不佩服他们的无畏。其实仔细看看Alex所写的歌词，简简单单大多透露出这次合作的愉快和舒心之旅，能找到Kane这种知音似乎比得大奖还要过瘾。而 Alex，Kane的和声真的可以说配合的相当不错，说不上唯美动听，但至少难以释怀，蠢蠢欲动的情感迸发，随着飞驰的鼓声和吉他的拨弄让整个境界得以升华，对我来说，没有辜负自己的好奇心，也没有辜负这次看热闹的人。

English indie rock band The Vaccines, formed by Justin Young, Freddie Cowan, Árni Árnason and Pete Robertson, is finally ready to bring back their music to our lives.
The band is set to release their awaited new single called “Handsome” as first cut of their upcoming third studio album, scheduled to be released on digital retailers sometime this year via Columbia Records.
The single will be released on iTunes (UK) on March 6, 2015 including a special Reimagined remix made by Dave Fridmann as B-Side.
