Upcdownc are now ready to unlease their new Album Black Sea on Field Records conjuring up imagery of ship wrecks and sea storms, tranqu il soundscapes to titan-sized juggernaut riffs. This is the follow up to the highly successful fourth album ‘Calaveras’ releases in 2011 by Field Records.
Upcdownc are a four-piece band from Kent formed in 2000. They’ve gigged extensively throughout Kent, London and the UK playing support roles to the likes of 65Daysofstatic, Oneida, Kinski, The Drones, Bossk to name a few and as sound carriers for Damo Suzuki as well as headlining and setting up there own shows/tours.
In 2004 following a number of self-released singles and albums, they were signed to indie label Tap ‘n’ Tin Records and their first double ‘A’ side 7″ single was released in February 2005. They performed a live Xfm session with John Kennedy in May of 2005 and during the same year their second 10″ single was released. Their debut album ‘And the Battle is Won’ was released at the end of 2005 and received high acclaim from the music press. In March 2006 they visited Maida Vale studios to record a live Radio One session with Huw Stephens and embarked upon their first UK tour.
Their second album ‘Embers’ was released in 2008 and distributed in both the UK and Japan. The band left the Tap ‘n’ Tin in 2008, releasing ‘Firewolf’ on their own in 2009. ‘Firewolf’ was mastered at Abbey Road Studios being distributed once again in both UK and Japan. During 2010 the band embarked upon their second UK tour with the year ending on a high with the band taking their first steps into the European arena.
