SuidAkrA is a melodic death metal band from Germany with Celtic folk influences.During their fourteen-year career, they have performed over 200 live shows for several European and Russian tours,as well as a North American tour.They are also known for their use of traditional instruments to augment their sound, such as the bagpipe, banjo, and tin whistle.

Vintersorg ( "Winter Sorrow" in English) is a Swedish band from Skellefteå, formed in 1994 under the name Vargatron (Wolfthrone in English). Musically, Vintersorg has covered a wide number of heavy metal genres; while the band is mostly rooted in extreme metal styles, particularly black metal and Viking/folk metal, it has also expanded into progressive metal and avant-garde metal. Lyrically, the band deals with topics on fantasy, mythology, nature, the cosmos, and metaphysics. Vintersorg means "Winter Sorrow," but the name was taken from the Isfolket series by Margit Sandemo, where the character Vintersorg is the son of a great pagan leader.

2011年3月Varg Vikernes推出了出狱后的第二张Burzum专辑「Fallen」，距上张作品不到一年的时间，手脚非常的迅速，不过他前四张专作品完成的时间也不过18个月，这样的进度也算是合情合理。姑且不论发片的速度，乐迷更在乎的是音乐内容如何吧。
这次的专辑封面，没有延续先前挪威画家Theodor Kittelsen的作品，撷取了法国画家William-Adolphe Bouguereau (1825-1905)在1899年的作品「Douleur d’amour（Elegy）」（英译：grief of love），一个悲伤的女人趴在墓碑上。在这幅全画中，墓碑的下方还有一名坐着哭泣的天使小童，画家William-Adolphe Bouguereau因早夭的孩子感到痛苦，而这一幅极其哀伤的景象正反映出他的悲恸。Varg Vikernes认为这幅画很符合这张专辑的概念，因而使用作为封面。
「Fallen」的内容是一个关於穿越黑暗（死亡？）进入内心深层，然後回到光明的一段旅程，和以往的概念类似，不过以更个人化的角度去探讨存在的议题，关於死亡与神，歌词之中的描写亦非常具有异教精神的意涵。
Varg Vikernes提到前作「Belus」，因为由制作传统金属乐录音师操刀，失去他原先预期的力道。因此他告诉新的录音师这张专辑的录制方式，不采用以往的录制方式，希望以古典乐的方式去录制，以达成他的预期效果。这样的录音方式，让音乐充满着冲击感，在听者和音乐间的摩擦，让聆听时有很强烈的共振感。每一个乐器，包含人声都富含能量，就像交响乐团演出时，各司其职，层次分明且井然有序。这样的录音，和原先的录制方式有很大的不同，不以各个乐器的声响堆叠出音墙，营造出一种朦胧的氛围；这样的录制方式，产生的结果是，就像井然有序的归放於书柜内的书本，专辑中每个乐器的声音都可以个别独立在歌曲中。
在上一张作品中，Varg Vikernes就以不同以往的歌唱方式－吟唱，让许多人感到讶异。而这张新作，加入更多的吟唱，不管是吟诗的方式，或是作为和声，在歌曲中有相当吃重的演出。同样在上张专辑表现亮眼的Bass声线，在新作中也和Varg的吟唱起了很大的作用，无论是歌曲「Jeg Faller (I Am Falling)」或是「Valen(Fallen)」中，在Bass声的律动感中，吟唱出的歌词彷如颂诗般的典雅，则是我个人非常推崇的部分。而招牌麻而尖锐的吉他主旋律，俯拾即是那砂砾般颗粒的音色，呈现在专辑中，扮演非常重要的角色，而且在这样的录音下更显的异常清晰。只是这样清晰却又各自独立的声音，让原先听惯巨大朦胧音墙的我，也感到有些不知所措，似乎还需要一些时间去体会个中滋味吧。
正如Varg所言，Fallen确实不同於原先的作品，非常实验性的录制风格，呈现出具经典专辑「Burzum」和「Det som engang var」风格的曲式，却又具备不同味道的作品。而11月底要推出这两张作品老歌新录合辑的风貌，推估或许就是这个样子，至於孰优孰劣到时再评判吧。(by eruption)
