2003年3月19日，Chara发行新专辑《夜明けまえ》（音：Yoake Mae，即Before the Dawn / 黎明之前）。这是Chara的第九张个人录制专辑，同时这也是她在索尼发行的最后一张非精选辑。专辑收录了此前发行的单曲《初恋》和《みえるわ》。
整张专辑由Chara担任作曲和制作人，首发周进入Oricon公信榜第17位，连续5周进入Top 300。

日本极微声音艺术家Miki Yui03年的近作，电子音效微小到让你难以注意，仿佛是一个安静的夏日午后的感觉。挺有意思的一张专辑。
This is perhaps the most minimalist music I've ever heard. It consists of a bunch of field recordings and stuff like that played at changing volumes and mashed together in various ways. Everything's constantly fading in and out and in and out. It requires a lot of attention, and it'll definitely take a few listens to fully absorb. Occasionally I forget I'm listening to the album, because so little is going on. Pretty good overall, though...a nice relaxing and slightly mysterious atmosphere is created.
