On the verge of an historic election victory, an Arabic candidate for the French presidency sees his ambitions threatened by a perfect storm of religious, cultural, and family politics.

Chouchou, un jeune Maghrébin, débarque clandestinement à Paris dans la seule intention de retrouver son neveu. Recueilli par le Père Léon et le Frère Jean, en charge d'une paroisse de banlieue parisienne, Chouchou trouve un emploi : assurer l'entretien du cabinet d'une psychanalyste, le docteur Nicole Milovavitch, et recevoir ses clients.
Ce dernier se rend bientôt à Clichy à la recherche de son neveu, devenu "Vanessa", chanteuse romantique au cabaret L'Apocalypse. Le jeune homme y retrouve ses amis et décide de se travestir lui aussi à ses heures libres. Devenu "serveuse" de nuit, il fait la rencontre de Stanislas, un quadragénaire habitué des lieux. C'est le coup de foudre.
Malheureusement, un patient du docteur Nicole Milovavitch, l'inspecteur Grégoire, a vent de l'arrivée clandestine de Chouchou à Paris et de sa double personnalité...
Chouchou，一个年轻的玛格里布人（阿尔及利亚、摩洛哥、突尼斯三国总称）为了寻找他的侄儿，人生地不熟地来到巴黎。在巴黎郊区被一个小教堂的神父和教友收留。并且在一个叫Nicole Milovavitch女医生的精神治疗室做一些日常清理和接待工作。
当他找到了侄子时，发现侄子成了Vanessa（女孩的名字），“末日”酒吧里的浪漫歌手。Chouchou在这个酒馆里也结识了些朋友，遂决定在酒吧里做兼职。作为“女”侍应生，他在这里遇见了Stanislas, 这间酒吧的常客，两人一见钟情。

圣诞节将至，四处都洋溢着浓烈的节日气氛，艾迪再也无法忍受贫穷而又无望的生活了，他决定重操旧业给自己小赚一笔。电视里传出了影视明星查理卓别林去世的新闻，机敏的艾迪从中发现了商机。
