In addition, Fleming performs a selection of lieder with orchestra as well as arias from Ariadne auf Naxos and Die ägyptische Helena. Also available in a special, deluxe edition! In addition to the Strauss program, a second disc which highlights Fleming's signature roles at the Metropolitan Opera is included. 《2010德累斯顿除夕音乐会》This is the auspicious premiere of a series of New Year's Eve Concerts from the famous Semperoper in Dresden。Deutsche Grammophon is proud to announce a long-term cooperative association with Christian Thielemann，Staatskapelle Dresden and Unitel/Classica to brand a new series of CDs and DVDs，beginning at the turn of the year。Christian Thielemann，no stranger to the Yellow Label，and designated Principal Conductor of Staatskapelle Dresden，pours his expertise into Lehar's evergreen The Merry Widow，with the opeartic megastar Renee Fleming in the title role。Adding to the magnetic presence of Renee Fleming is the chocolaty baritone and charm of Christopher Maltman，both singers making their Staatskapelle bows。Short encores from Lehar's The Land of Smiles and，on this occasion，obligatory，waltzes of Johann Strauss II，round the musical event off。Fleming will also perform a few encores including “I Could Have Danced All Night” from My Fair Lady。The performance will be available in both CD and DVD formats。

被誉为当代六大爵士钢琴名家之一，并有着前辈比尔艾文斯最浓烈影响的爵士乐手，布瑞德梅尔道骨子里其实是古典音乐家。他从高中就开始演奏爵士音乐，后来进了纽约社会研究新校，追随Fred Hersch，Kenny Werner，Jimmy Webb等爵士名家学习，并被Cobb聘入他的乐团中担任钢琴手，并被Joshua Redman找来合作唱片。但他一直以来在Berklee College of Music，主修的却都是古典钢琴和现代音乐。而他后来的爵士即兴演奏中，也不时会在某些细节出现巴哈、布拉姆斯等人的音乐片段。而他在结构和音乐内涵上的深刻性，也让他的爵士演奏，不同于只是慵懒表面的沙龙音乐，而是能够引人深思与触及性灵的艺术品，也因此一些强调内在人性探索、并重视片中音乐的电影大导演，像是史丹利库伯利克（大开眼戒）和温德斯（百万饭店），都喜欢引用他的演奏。连法国电影「Ma Femme Est Une Actrice」也都引用他的演奏。

本片中这几首歌曲是由卡内基音乐厅委托梅尔道创作的歌曲集，指定要由钢琴与人声合作，于是梅尔道选中了当代最美声音的抒情女高音芙蕾明合作，并将诗人里尔克（Rainer Rilke）的「时祷书」中的「上帝的情诗」（The Book of Hours：Love Poems To God）、Louise Bogan的「The Blue Estuaries」（蓝河湾）和Brad Mehldau的老婆——荷兰籍的爵士女歌手Fleurine所填词的「Love Sublime」等诗入乐，以现代音乐的风格写成这套歌曲集，这不是爵士即兴音乐，而是将二十世纪音育，包括梅湘，普罗高罗夫乃至舒曼，佛瑞等人的艺术音乐风格，融入二十世纪各时期的音乐，包括流行摇滚和爵士乐，共同融合为独特的语法，进而呈现出相当精练而浓缩的音乐语言，并考虑到艺术歌曲短小而内敛的表达型式，所写成的作品。整套作品于2005年5月15日，在卡内基音乐厅新落成的Zankel厅中完成首演。Louise Bogan是1970年过世的美国女诗人，这是女高音芙蕾明介绍给梅尔道后，他获得灵感而创作的。梅尔道选中了Bogan毕生最后的创作「蓝河湾」。至于里尔克的诗则是采用由Anita Barrow和Joanna R.
