Diving（潜水）是一种下沉的状态，过程是缓慢、柔软而轻盈的，当潜入深处时，复杂而清晰的幻想开始显现。这是Deep Water在首张专辑《Diving》中想要表达的——先是陷入温柔而炽烈之中，一如先行单曲《Run Out》及《Wild Thoughts》所体现的甜蜜和轻松，及至完整专辑发布，我们在甜蜜之外却也看到了下潜般的沉沦。
这是Deep Water献给当代青年男女的一曲曲爱情赞歌。在专辑创作过程中，两位成员选择了一种温柔的方式，分析拆解爱情中的种种境遇。开场的《After The Party》用阴郁的合成器音色将人拽入水中，并开始下沉，随即带人一路领略爱情中会有的种种情绪：愉悦的、心碎的、令人生厌的、鼓舞人心的、情欲的、平静的皆如数呈现。《Midlife Crisis》是有关中年危机的自我调侃，《Run Out》及《Wild Thoughts》是温柔而俏皮的甜蜜，《Bind Me!》指向受控制带来的愉悦，收尾的《He Said Nothing More》则直接指向沉默。整张专辑听完，你似乎能发现，这是一颗有着坚硬外表的糖，内里却包裹着甜蜜的爱。
乐队两位成员各自有自己的音乐项目，一位是朋克吉他手，一位有另外的电子项目。在打算摒弃掉原有的音乐标签，尝试融合出一种新的音乐色彩之后，Deep Water于是在成都组建。正如其名字，他们的音乐是暗色调的，但却温柔的，是夜晚城市静谧无人之处的一点光亮，也可以是冬夜里燃烧出滋滋声响的一堆木炭，低吟诉说给那些未眠的人听。
