Formed in 2015 to add body and beat to Georgia Maq’s solo songs which she has been performing for the past few years, the eight tracks on CAMP COPE’s debut discuss real life working shifts in a hospital, living in rundown share houses in Footscray and what it’s like to be a woman in the world. CAMP COPE’s soulful, indie-punk played under Maq’s raspy and robust voice have made it okay to enjoy feeling angst again.
Having already shared stages with Waxahatchee, Jeff Rosenstock, The Smith Street Band and Mere Women, CAMP COPE released their first single as a three-piece – ‘Lost: Season One’ – in January to an incredibly welcoming audience. A story of long-distance love and navigating that through your phone, Beat Magazine noted its “nu-nostalgia compounding a wistful yearning,” and put CAMP COPE on the map as a ‘Band to Watch’.

All india radio return to the lush atmospheric and instrumental soundscapes of their earlier work on their new album a low high. Guests include graham lee (the triffids) and some evocative ambient sounds from rock legend ed kuepper (the saints & nick cave/bad seeds). All india radio have just finished a collaboration with australian music icon steve kilbey (the church) who wrote the magical 'under the milky way' (rediscovered by the world in the hit movie 'donnie darko').

Chapter Music is excited to release Up To Anything, the debut album by Brisbane trio The Goon Sax. Louis Forster, James Harrison and Riley Jones are all 17-18 years old. They make pop music. They have refined tastes - they love the Pastels, Talking Heads, Galaxie 500, Bob Dylan and Arthur Russell. On Up To Anything they pull off the almost impossible, capturing the awkwardness, self-doubt and visceral excitement of teenage life, while still in the thick of actually living it. The band formed around high school friends James and Louis in 2013, and some scrappy duo-era home recordings still linger on the internet. Riley joined in early 2014, after a month of drum lessons, and the band played their first show a few months later. Chapter signed The Goon Sax in 2015 on the strength of an unsolicited demo, the first time that has ever happened in the label's history. We introduced the band to the world via music conference Bigsound last year, and singles Sometimes Accidentally and Boyfriend have since been featured on the likes of Stereogum, NME, BBC6 and Brooklyn Vegan. They've gone on to play with the likes of US Girls, Twerps, Blank Realm and Crayon Fields, and have a spot on Brisbane Laneway Festival in February. Goon Sax songs are both immediately charming and deceptively deep - Sweaty Hands examines a point in a relationship where you're seen at your worst, while Telephone addresses the heartbreaking realisation that nothing you offer your crush is enough. The Goon Sax are already masters at pairing teen microdrama with pop sophistication - but clearly, Up To Anything is just the beginning!

Sixteen years after the release of their critically acclaimed, award winning debut Since I Left You, The Avalanches return with their second album, Wildflower. Created by the band's core duo Robbie Chater and Tony Di Blasi Wildflower is like The Beach Boys' Smile re-imagined in the Daisy Age: a mind-bending cartoon road movie that's best viewed with closed eyes and an open mind.

The Preservation label presents "Becalmed", the debut album from Sydney pianist Sophie Hutchings. Having begun playing piano young growing up in a musical family, Sophie started writing properly in her teens – indeed, the opening piece "Seventeen" is named for her age at the time it was originally composed, though all on "Becalmed" have been developed and improvised on since their original form. Sophie’s compositions move from disarmingly spare and elegant beginnings to curl out with a tingling edge, propelling its austerity into urgent and epic realms. Violin, cello, drums, percussion and organ heighten the flight these pieces can take as well as dip and swell within the more dimly lit moods of gentler nuance, casting a particular spell across the range of feeling captured in Sophie’s playing. Both unfussed and exquisite though constantly evolving, the inspired measure of "Becalmed" is found in the space it inhabits between the meditative and evocative. "Becalmed" was produced in two settings, with engineer Tim Whitten – noted for his continuing work with The Necks – in Sydney and Tony Dupe , otherwise known as fellow Preservation artist Saddleback, in the tranquil surrounds of his former home studio in the Kangaroo Valley on the South Coast of New South Wales. Among other performers on the album is Sophie’s brother Jamie Hutchings, leader of longstanding Sydney outfit Bluebottle Kiss, and cellist Sophie Glasson, who has also recorded with Sarah Blasko and The Church. Seemingly from out of nowhere though essentially poured out from deep within, "Becalmed" is a shimmering, absorbing debut.

The Brisbane singer/songwriter’s second LP is all brave, incandescent mood music. Written with producer Pascal Gabriel (Kylie Minogue, Goldfrapp) in a French castle, Supercry combines tidy arrangements (pristine electronics, sharp live instrumentation) with Louise’s deeply honest lyrical turns and haunting vocals. 在音乐上，Anita还和许多人合作过，包括和Barry Adamson录制的老歌These Boots Are Made For Walking、同Gudrun Gut(EN的初始成员，是个玩电子的pljj)合作的Yadi Yadi，不过她最牢靠的伙伴还要数Mick Harvey。他在自己两张翻唱Serge Gainsbourg歌曲的专辑中，邀请Anita担任女声对唱。“我想不出还有谁的声音比她更适合”，Mick如是说。的确，她成功的扮演了一回90年代的Jane Birkin。而2001年她的第二张solo大碟Sex O'Clock也是Mick制作完成的，Anita在蜜糖似的电子节拍包裹下，吟唱着灼人的肉欲和心灵的痛苦。
对于画家Anita Lane来说，音乐只是生活中的一部分。听过她的作品后我们得承认，她在这方面，确实“很有天赋”。
这里的The World's A Girl的版本同专辑Dirty Pearl中的不一样，原来的弦乐编配换成了Warren Ellis的小提琴独奏(赞阿赞阿销魂阿~~我原谅你如此猥琐了！)我最最喜欢的Anita Lane的歌！！！！！ 后两首都是此前未曾披露过的同Nick Cave的对唱，前者（叫春之歌。。）后来收录在Mick Harvey个人专辑Pink Elephants中，不过据说单曲版本和大 碟 版 本是有不同的。
