In August of 2016 Maria W Horn and Mats Erlandsson traveled to Balada in the Terres de I’Ebre region of Catalonia, Spain, for a two-week residency courtesy of the Eufonics festival in collaboration with EMS.
The geographical characteristics a visitor first encounters in the Terres de I’Ebre delta are defined by the development of industrial agriculture. Endless rice fields stretch through the flat landscape, framed by canals of water to sustain growth. Even the air is saturated with a vague scent of rice. This transmutation of the soil impacts the sonic environment, the buzzing of the irrigation system, the hypnotic constant chirping of crickets, the loud bang from the water pump that echoes through the delta at regular intervals.
Taking the opportunity to collaborate on a project specifically made within the context of the aural environment they found themselves in, and using the resources available to them, the pair decided to make a musical work based entirely on field recorded material transformed through extensive digital editing and processing. Working quickly in the isolation offered by the residency they recorded found material at night and spent the days shaping these recordings into four compositions that move on a dense continuum between drone, noise and generative music all imprinted with the textural characteristics of the immediate surroundings of that time and place.
Through the four compositions the work shows a sonic imprint of an environment shaped by human hands over an almost endless period of time, as heard through the ears of two transient visitors processing their sliver of time in the area as it was unfolding to them.
The resulting music was performed in concert during the Eufonics festival of 2016 and was originally released on cassette tape by XKatedral in 2017 under the moniker Dufwa.

以一支有12年资历的乐队来计算，这支瑞典乐队－Koop，算是产量少的一群。成于1995年，Magnus Zingmark及Oscar Simonsson为重心成员，这是支同时带Acid Jazz，Downtemple及Trip－Hop基因的乐队。他们上一张专辑（亦是首张专辑）－《Waltz for Koop》中，加纳比节奏，甜美的男声演唱，迷幻绚丽的Acid Jazz，就好比一场令人亢奋的仲夏派对，叫人印象深刻。

Out from a concept of misery and suffering, our feeble and dying world is the subject of a new hymn to its demise.
“Mortal Coil” is Dödsrit's third full-length, featured on a yet short career though wholly filled with soul drenching moments. Featuring four tracks, Dödsrit's "Mortail Coil" hails the smothering ashes of purgatory's flames by forging a wall of soultearing riffing, blistering belligerence conjoining melody with aggression, a genuine blaze of cacophony and heart wrenching melancholy.
Consuming all in its path, this relentless maelstrom of grief finds its vision on the thunderous production - utterly powerful and blisteringly organic in all its dynamism. Such sonic virtues get sheerly enhanced by the lively rhythmic section and uncompromised ferocity. Whether on blastbeating outbreaks, D-beat infused vigour or further atmospheric escapades, pulsing impulses carry an expression and sense of craftsmanship that amazingly translate emotions into cataclysmic beats.
Drenched in anguish, a scourged narrator of tragedies spews every single word with the blood and fiery distress of a heart burdened by the weight of our sorrowed existence, a shivering performance of a tongue absorbed in the (dis)comfort of eternal grief.
Out under the banner of Wolves of Hades on Vinyl & CD, and The Hell Command on Cassette, “Mortal Coil” is a eulogy to the world in flames - to the hell we call our home.

Cold Spring presents two Swedish titans - NORDVARGR (MZ.412) and ᚦᛟᚦ ᚷᛁᚷ (TREPANERINGSRITUALEN) - teaming up for a bludgeoning dose of Death Industrial majesty.
Det Kätterska Förbund, consisting of the two giants dominating the Death Industrial world - Thomas Ekelund (Trepaneringsritualen, Dead Letters Spell Out Dead Words) + Henrik Nordvargr Björkk (MZ.412, Pouppée Fabrikk, Folkstorm etc) - has been slowly and methodically working for almost 5 years to finish the first album of this double-headed abomination. Patience richly rewarded.
You can instantly feel the presence of lurking unease as the album slowly opens up a distorted world of familiar sounds and voices, but there is something special about these recordings; the menacing aura that has been created adds new elements to the otherwise rigid tropes of the genre. Punishingly heavy rhythmic tracks, with savage incantations from both Thomas and Nordvargr, gratifyingly familiar to fans of the artists' main projects, are flanked by these death-scarred lamentations.

”Structures” is the 5th full length album from Stockholm based Immanu El – an eight track journey of contemporary, progressive pop music with its roots in the bands symptomatic sound of Scandinavian ambience.
The band started to work with this new album already while touring with their latest album ”Hibernation” in 2017. The music is entirely written, recorded and produced in the band’s own studio in Stockholm, Sweden. With "Structures", Immanu El have challenged their way of making music as well as telling stories. The vocals and lyrics drive the songs forward in a sharper and more captivating way, expressing both soul searching and social criticism more distinct lyricwise and in production. The result is the most exciting album ever made by this talented and emotional Swedish pop group.

Care is a unique outing rife with delicious dichotomy. The opening
track positions the aggressive directly against more fragile moments.
On the subsequent track medieval melodies sprout from a dense rhythmic
hiss. Witness a Middle Eastern song appearing amongst a haunted
rattling reverb in the epic ‘Tank’ whilst a beautiful force of hope can be
found within the sound world of the the closing track ‘Mend’.
The wide scope of references and constant pull of forces make this
debut offering a timeless patchwork of sonic spaces. Care is an album
which sways in such a salubrious manner one can’t help but delight in
its unique form of location/disorientation.

The infamous Montreux Jazz Festival is one of the largest annual jazz festivals, now operating for over 50 years. About the experience Anna von Hausswolff remarks,
"In the beginning of 2013 I was texting back and forth with my friend Albin Oskarsson. He wanted me to come and play at a jazz festival that he was living nearby, it was Montreux Jazz Festival. At that point I was still quite unknown outside Sweden and regardless my friend’s many attempts to contact the festival they never returned to him with an offer. I gave up the idea, he did not. Later that same year he unexpectedly died and a few years later, in 2017, an email popped up in my inbox, it was a request to open for Nick Cave and the bad seeds at the Montreux jazz festival. The tragedy that Albin was still not around to share the excitement with me gave me sorrow.
But, through the magic of music comfort came. The show was an emotional turmoil of ecstasy and grief, shared with an incredible audience and atmosphere. And, eventually, I could see his face in the venue, floating above all others, smiling and waiving towards me. I’m so happy to have been given this moment and I’m beyond grateful towards Montreux Jazz Festival, John Harris and Mathieu Jaton who so beautifully recorded this special concert that I will keep close to my heart forever and ever."
Live at Montreux Jazz Festival was mixed on the “Queen Neve” desk, previously owned by Queen (thus the name) and situated at the Mountain Studios in the casino of Montreux, now located at Svenska Grammofonstudion, Gothenburg - further capturing the magic.
