Alela Diane returns with new album Cusp, the long-awaited follow up to 2013?s critically-acclaimed About Farewell (AllPoints, formerly Believe Recordings). Whilst both albums could be described as born of love, Cusp is perhaps love at its purest, and most complex - for in music, one of the most transformative experiences a woman can have is also an unspoken artistic taboo: Have a baby if you must. But for goodness? sake, don?t write songs about it. Portland, Oregon based singer-songwriter Alela Diane has a problem with that.
?This music is about motherhood,? Alela says of Cusp. ?Even just by saying that, it feels like people will write you off. As women, our music is sold based on our sex-appeal. There?s a lack of spaces for women to move into that aren?t based on appearance. Those are conversations I?m interested in having.?
Cusp was written in January 2016 in a small cabin deep within snowy woods where Alela resided during a three-week artist residency at Caldera, Oregan, alone for the first time since becoming a mother. A broken thumbnail resulted in Alela?s signature finger-plucking being replaced by songwriting on a grand piano, resulting in the most piano driven album of her career, fueled by that energy that only comes with facing and falling in love with something new.

Lemonade is the sixth studio album by American singer and songwriter Beyoncé. It was released on April 23, 2016, through Parkwood Entertainment. The album was accompanied by the release of a 60-minute short film of the same name, which premiered on HBO. It features co-production from a wide range of artists, and includes guest vocals from artists including James Blake, Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, and Jack White. To further promote the album, Beyoncé will embark on The Formation World Tour in April 2016.

Steve Hauschildt will release his latest album, Where All Is Fled, via Kranky on September 25th.
Before and after the split of his old group Emeralds, the Cleveland producer has issued a steady stream of thoughtful, ambient-leaning synthesizer music via Kranky, Editions Mego and his own Gneiss Things. On 2012's Sequitur, Hauschildt introduced vocals into his analog-focused productions. Where All Is Fled is an instrumental record that "sonically harkens back to his earlier albums such as Rapt For Liquid Minister and Tragedy & Geometry," according to Kranky.
For the new LP, Hauschildt looked to surrealistic landscape paintings, early alchemical problems and recurring visions for inspiration, hiding samples of crowd sounds, animal noises and text-to-speech synthesis within his modern Kosmische compositions.
