La Dispute is a five-piece band from Grand Rapids, MI. Most frequently referred to as Post-Hardcore (but sometimes also Progressive Rock and Screamo).

A sister album to Yesterday I Thought About You, Balance contains ideas which were initially conjured up during YITAY's development but never got fleshed out until now. The first movement establishes an undulating, thorough soundscape, at times shrill, at times serene. The second lays down distant block chords as the foundation of a call and response pattern that comes from a place of longing, yearning for balance, a thing we all strive to obtain. But it’s a difficult concept to maintain, and an easy one to let slip between your fingers.
I recorded the piano sections in both tracks in December 2021, which was a few months before I recorded all the piano parts to YITAY. In Spring 2022 I had about 10 different distinct piano ideas functioning as seeds that I could form into cohesive concepts. The piano passages you hear here were originally in consideration for inclusion in YITAY, but ultimately didn’t make the cut. In Sept–Dec 2022, I revisited some of these preexisting ideas and retooled them into a full project.
I try to release something under the Macaque Sauna name every New Year’s Day. This is the 3rd year in a row I’ve been able to pull it off, and the 1st I’ve released on Cyan Sun.

Metropolis Metropolis is an abbreviated version of the most recent Electronic Music soundtrack for Fritz Lang’s Metropolis (1927) by the Techno music producer and cultural icon Jeff Mills. Unlike his first soundtrack where tracks addressed specific segments of the film in a track listing form, which was created and released in 2001, this version is more a symbiotic mix of compositions that proposes a nuanced representation of the plot and storyline.
As an electronic symphonic music creation, Mills proposes a few interesting points in the schematics of this album. 1- the positioning and role of the listener as the soundtrack is based on the environment of the scenes, rather than pure transcription, 2 – as a storyline that takes place in the year 2000, the choice of sound elements refer to some future commonality and foresight between the genres of Classical and Electronic music – between man and machine. And 3, in many parts of the soundtrack where sounds are played in unison. This is symbolic of the hopefulness the storyline works towards.
