Bastille are a band from South London, England, formed in 2010. Bastille started out as a solo project by singer-songwriter Dan Smith, who later decided to form a band. The quartet consists of Dan Smith, Chris 'Woody' Wood, Will Farquarson and Kyle Simmons. The name of the band comes from Bastille Day; the day Dan Smith was born.

Dead is the debut studio album by Scottish hip hop group Young Fathers. It was released on Anticon and Big Dada on February 4, 2014. The album was the winner of the 2014 Mercury Prize.

London quartet Desperate Journalist - Jo Bevan (vocals), Simon Drowner (bass), Rob Hardy (guitar) and Caz Hellbent (drums) - will soon follow up their one EP and two singles with a self-titled debut album. Recorded almost entirely live in Soho’s Dean Street Studios, the full-length was jointly produced alongside Keith TOTP and mixed by the band themselves.
“The album was recorded over five days at Dean Street Studios,” they explain. “We wanted to make sure the record reflected the energy and directness of our live shows so the way we recorded was live with some guitar and vocal overdubs.
“The songs are all one word titles because: a) it’s hard to name songs without some kind of restrictive structure to it; and b) it reflects the ethos we have of making sure everything in each track needs to be there - we don’t like excess. Everything needs to be immediate and streamlined.”

2008 debut from the '50s obsessed trio. You'd expect any self-respecting young North London band that boasts an average age of 16 to spend an inordinate amount of time filling their iPhones with remixes downloaded from blogs, rather than cutting their tunes onto 78s. But then brother-and-two-sisters Rock 'N' Roll enthusiasts Kitty Daisy & Lewis are no ordinary band. The three siblings - now aged 15, 18 and 17 - first came together onstage at a Country and Rockabilly jam in a North London pub. Five years later the '50s music, fashion and technology obsessed family have built a massive word-of-mouth audience through a stream of rapturously received gigs and festival appearances. 10 tracks.

Laura Marling has announced her follow-up to 2013's Once I Was an Eagle. The new LP is titled Short Movie, and will be released on March 23 via Virgin EMI; that's the artwork, above. In addition to announcing the LP, Marling has unveiled its title track in the form of an animated music video directed by Art & Graft.
