具体点来说，Godspeed的长篇乐章往往分为多个段落，你听到的可能是一段不安的街头演说，可能是一片Ambient声效，可能是由提琴发出的哀怨悲鸣，可能是由结他勾出的荒凉意境，却随时渐变为疯狂凌乱的Free Form摇滚弹奏，弹奏速度更是越来越风驰急激，仿似完全冲破了任何规范教条，不顾一切。我开始明白他们为何会采用Godspeed You Black Emperor!，这个源自日本某个黑夜飞车党称号，作为乐团的名字。
试过好几次听Godspeed，特别是最新的一张双CD专辑《Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven!》时，每每期待着乐章中那山雨欲来的一发不可收拾气势来临，仿佛将心中所有不快集中在一起，等待一息间全部爆发出来。是的，听Godspeed的音乐虽然很痛苦不安，但亦很美丽释怀，虽然一切只是暂时性的幻像。

50％的独立小电子 + 30％的自赏梦幻流行 + 80％的后摇，这样的一个小杂烩风格被他们自己定义成了electronic lullabies，电子童谣。有人说yui中有不少《新世纪福音战士》的声音片断，我不大清楚，不过childs成员对动漫的热爱充满在整张LP中，从封面到编曲都能感觉到。

由 Paul Marron 和 Guillermo Batiz 組成的墨西哥電音組合。Yui 內除了 electronica外，作品中還包括 dream pop，post rock，ambient 等其他原素。Yui可以說是一張非常有趣的作品，一方面有一些輕鬆的 electro-pop 作品好像 S.A.D 和 Reki ，另外亦有 epic 式作品 lan P。時而有典型 laptop artist 式簡單編排；又有長篇大論 post rock 式電音，變奏高潮起伏。曲目時有 Sigur Ros 式天籟之音；有時又滲出 Mum式的原始 analog 音效 。音樂上，除了一般的鍵琴編排，Yui 內的弦樂編排也做得頗為出色。這張 CD 碟面上印有兩個小朋友的畫像，想也必是 Paul 和 Guillermo 對自身的投影吧。天真的氣氛中頗有一點娃娃看天下的味道。Childs 曾經用" electronic lullabies " 來形容他們自家的音樂，這也不失為一個貼切的形容。

God is An Astronaut的配器虽然遵循英式摇滚的传统，但还是充满了古老冲动与激情。God is Astronaut这支柏林的乐队是2002年由两兄弟Niels 和Torsten还有他们的朋友Lloyd三人行而成的。他们的音乐清澈而具有质感，旋律优美却多愁善感，并且运用大量美妙的电子声效。2002年成立，2003年3月在他们自己成立的厂牌Revive Records发表了第一张专辑《The End of the Beginning》。2005.2第二张专辑《All is Violent，All is Bright》依然在Revive Records下发表。God is An Astronaut在采访中形容他们的音乐是“Electronic，chill out synthisised rock ”，这是由于他们受主流摇滚的影响同时又喜欢The Chemical Brothers（着名Synth pop乐队），而将两者合而为一的产物。
第一次听这张《All is Violent，All is Bright》已经让我爱不释手，在我听过的音乐中特别是postrock这类型中，God is Astronaut创作出来的声音竟然是如此独特。
如湖水般清澈，如空气般清新。虽然专辑名字中有Violent，但是猛烈程度却不如Mogwai，而因为有Bright，明亮欢快，尤胜Sigur Ros，旋律悦耳程度简直让我惊喜。第三首Forever Lost中清脆的钢琴配上空灵的吉他，我完全沉浸在那种境界，永远迷失在那优美的旋律中。
God is an astronaut是一支来自爱尔兰首都都柏林的后摇团体，风格是吉他为主的器乐后摇。《Fragile》一段轻柔的吉他开篇，仿佛来自遥远的外太空一样空灵飘渺，但要是你认为接下来是更加延长的继续下去的话就错了，歌曲进行到一半的时候，吉他开始更有节奏的轰鸣，变的更加饱满更有力量。《All Is Violent All Is Bright》带我们进入另一个魔幻的世界，行至3分钟的时候，吉他构建的空间氛围感越来越强烈，形成一种压迫感，却在你变的狂躁不安之前噶然而止。奇怪的是，我们没有感到不适，反而觉得很爽。第三首有一个很好听的名字《Forever Lost》,不同于其他歌曲的是，用钢琴弹奏取代了吉他而作为引子，显得特别乾净。整张唱片的旋律都漂亮的很，很容易被记住，但每首歌呈现给我们的世界是不同的。when everything dies！你会联想到什么？末世的荒凉，还是万物待生的希望？专辑的最后一首歌《When Everything Dies》却奇妙的将两种感觉带到你面前。
如果你在午夜十分因为某种原因而无法入睡，那么这张唱片绝对是带你进入梦幻旅行最好选择。

冰岛著名后摇乐团Sigur Ros(意为胜利的玫瑰)即将在五月份推出他们的第六张录音室大碟《Valtari》，Sigur Ros乐队上一张专辑还是2008年夏天推出的《Mee Sue í Eyrum Vie Spilum Endalaust》。
从2008年推出上张专辑之后，Sigur Ros乐队一直没有创作新作品，几位成员开始分头行动，主唱Jonsi录制了自己的第一张个人唱片《Go》，与此同时，乐队的键盘手Kjartan也录制了一张未发行的作品《Credo》。去年年底，Sigur Ros乐队在伦敦的演出现场曾被发行成为一套CD+DVD的现场专辑《Inni》。
这张《Valtari》将在5月29日正式发行，整张唱片由Sigur Ros乐队主唱Jonsi和混音师阿莱克斯-索梅尔斯(Alex Somers)一同制作，专辑中一共收录了八首歌曲，每一首歌的音乐风格都不一样。本张专辑整体的结构不像Sigur Ros以往的专辑那么统一，这主要是因为歌曲的录音时间跨越太长，其中有些歌最早是2005年录制的。
对于十分期待本张专辑的乐迷来说，现在就可以登陆Sigur Ros乐队的官方网站试听新专辑《Valtari》中的首支单曲《Ekki Mukk》。1994年，Sigur Ros乐队组建于冰岛的Reykjavík，乐队名字的含义是“胜利玫瑰”。从成立以来的近20年中，Sigur Ros已经发行了五张正式唱片，都得到了乐迷很高的评价。

Having emerged from hiatus at the end of 2010, GYBE picked up right where they left off, immediately re-capturing the sound and material that had fallen dormant in 2003 and driving it forward with every show of their extensive touring over the last 18 months. The new album presents the fruits of that labour: evolved and definitive versions of two huge compositions previously known to fans as “Albanian” and “Gamelan”, now properly titled as “MLADIC” and “WE DRIFT LIKE WORRIED FIRE” respectively. Accompanied by the new drones (stitched into the album sequence on CD; cut separately on their own 7″ for the LP version), GYBE have offered up a fifth album that we feel is as absolutely vital, virulent, honest and heavy as anything in their discography.

We don’t have much time for mythology, but we’d be lying if we said the return of Godspeed You! Black Emperor in 2010 didn’t signify a whole lot to us as a marker from which to look back on the past decade, to reflect on what’s been gained or lost within the confines of independent music culture and what’s been gained or lost in the socio-political landscape writ large. Godspeed’s music will do that to you. It is music that bears witness to, channels and transforms this predominantly terrible, infuriating, venal and nihilistically sad story we’re all living, sharing, resisting, protesting, deconstructing and trying to change for the better. We think GYBE has once again provided a uniquely moving and compelling soundtrack for these acts of analysis, defiance and ascension.

Hard to believe a full decade has passed since the release of Yanqui U.X.O., the last album by GYBE. Never a band to care for conventional industry wisdom, Yanqui was released shortly before xmas 2003 with little publicity and no press availability, no marketing plans or cross-promotions or brand synergies, with back cover artwork tracing the inextricable links between major music labels and the military-industrial complex. Driven by word-of-mouth from a passionate and committed fanbase galvanized by the group's sonic vision and its dedication to unmediated, unsullied musical communication, the album found it's rightful audience.

To suggest that such simple principles and goals have become harder to maintain and enact a decade later is an understatement. For all the contents and discontents – for all the "content" – of our present cultural moment, the idea of circumventing the glare of exposure, the massaging of media cycles and the calculus of identity management appears quaint, if not futile.

But Godspeed is looking to try all the same. The band wants people to care about this new album, without telling people they should or talking about themselves. They want to hold on to some part of that energy that comes with the thrill of anonymous discovery and unmediated transmission, knowing full well that these days, anti-strategy risks being tagged as a strategy, non-marketing framed as its opposite, and deeply held principles they consider fundamental to health as likely to be interpreted as just another form of stealth.

Deep Elm Records is pleased to announce the forthcoming re-release of Who You Are Is Not Enough, the third album from post-rock / post-hardcore heroes ATHLETICS. A conceptual record about the quest to find oneself, Who You Are Is Not Enough was written stylistically as one song separated into five parts relating to love, loss and acceptance. The 10 track re-release will include the original five part album released in June 2012 plus an instrumental version of each part dubbed the 'Find Yourself' tracks. "This is an album about finding yourself. So we felt it was only appropriate to remove the albeit very poetic lyrics in order to give the listener an option to create his or her own experience to the masterful music without any pre-conceived ideas. It's a very powerful, unique, genre-spanning album that stands on its own with or without lyrics. So fans now have a choice on how to make the most of the music" says label owner John Szuch.
"This re-release lets us showcase these songs in a different way. The vocals on Who You Are Is Not Enough are sparse for a reason: we wanted the music to tell its own story. We are now taking it a step further by including instrumental versions of each song, letting the listeners decide what these songs truly mean for themselves. Who You Are Is Not Enough was also recorded to flow seamlessly from our debut. The opening of the album is actually the piano section of the song Affliction from the debut in reverse. So we are excited to have our entire discography in the same place. We're happy to be home" says guitarist Garrett Yaeger.
"Who You Are Is Not Enough is the constant feeling that everything you're doing and all the effort you are exerting is still not enough. Sometimes your best just isn't good enough, and for somethings it never will be. Ultimately after all that self-doubt, all the failures, and self-reflection, you realize there are more important things to worry about than being good enough for some social, economic or emotional standard. This album has been a long time in the making. It revolves around a single idea that was expanded on time and time again. When Athletics first formed we wrote a song called Five Years Later which was never recorded and rarely performed. It was about a friend that had passed five years earlier. It was the most important subject I had ever attempted to write about. I was never happy with the outcome of the song, it was never good enough, it never paid enough tribute, it never captured the emotion and he deserved more. Since his passing, I have constantly measured my failures and shortcomings against the notion that he would never even have the chance to fail. Having the perspective of failing being better than nothing at all is the idea that shaped the album. It relates our collective struggles and compares them to something bigger," adds Yeager.

《1911》是沼泽乐队2011年推出的又一张古琴器乐摇滚专辑。
整张专辑只有1首作品，借鉴交响曲的曲式进行编排，分4个乐章展开，加起来足有1小时多。乐章无标题，仅借用了中国章回小说的回目以第几回命名。

对比把中国古风和现代摇滚乐进行深度混搭的《沧浪星》，沼泽的新专辑《1911》可谓是乐队一次更具野心的挑战——闯进西方古典乐的疆域。作品以古琴的苍凉意境担纲，加上摇滚乐三大件的强有力声墙，并采用交响曲式的叙事型结构作铺排，汇流成一首长篇摇滚交响史诗。这次沼泽借鉴了交响曲曲式来演绎他们独特的古琴摇滚曲风，为摇滚乐的表达形式提供更多新的可能性。
