Jeff Buckley was many things, but humble wasn't one of them. Grace is an audacious debut album, filled with sweeping choruses, bombastic arrangements, searching lyrics, and above all, the richly textured voice of Buckley himself, which resembled a cross between Robert Plant, Van Morrison, and his father Tim. And that's a fair starting point for his music: Grace sounds like a Led Zeppelin album written by an ambitious folkie with a fondness for lounge jazz. At his best -- the soaring title track, "Last Goodbye," and the mournful "Lover, You Should've Come Over" -- Buckley's grasp met his reach with startling results; at its worst, Grace is merely promising.

After a four-year hiatus, Sade stepped into the ’90s with Love Deluxe. The album immediately envelops listeners in the roiling rhythms of “No Ordinary Love.” Throbbing basslines are the band’s compass, but distant echoes of flamenco, jazz, and ambient help shape the bluesy currents of “Like a Tattoo.” The twinkling (if a bit melancholy) tones of “Kiss of Life” momentarily brighten the mood, only to give way to “Cherish the Day,” in which Sade Adu’s voice materializes as if stepping from a shadowy steam bath.

The Low End Theory is the second album by American hip hop group A Tribe Called Quest. Released on September 24, 1991 through Jive Records, the album produced three singles: "Check the Rhime," "Jazz (We've Got)," and "Scenario."

People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm is the debut album by the alternative hip hop group A Tribe Called Quest, released on April 17, 1990[11] on Jive Records. Though the album was well-received critically, it had little mainstream appeal. The album did earn the band a devoted following, however, within the alternative hip hop community. People's Instinctive Travels was praised for its inventive lyricism and bizarre sense of humor, mixed with socially aware and literate message tracks. It is one of three albums included in The Source's 100 Best Rap Albums. It also was certified gold by the RIAA on January 19, 1996. The record was given the perfect rating of 5 mics in The Source in 1990 — according to Pitchfork, it was the first album ever to receive this honor.
