确实,Papa Roach与Rap的距离越来越大,但他们明显已经在《Getting Away with Murder》那张专辑当中做到了一定的高度,之后他们所宣扬的再革新再进步已经显得非常之无力,《Metamorphosis》里诸如《I Almost Told You That I Loved You》、《Live This Down》这样的曲目实际上很像是《Getting Away with Murder》里某些曲目的翻版。

新碟由Sixx:A.M.乐队主音James Michael和Goldfinger主音John Feldmann共同制作,而前者同样也参与了Papa Roach上张专辑的制作工作。首波单曲"Still Swinging",已于7月24日先行放出。
The Connection is the seventh album by California rock band Papa Roach. It is set to be released on October 2, 2012 through Eleven Seven Music. The album was produced by Sixx:A.M. vocalist James Michael, who co-produced the band's previous full-length album Metamorphosis, and Goldfinger vocalist John Feldmann. The first single, "Still Swinging", was released on July 24, 2012. A non-album track titled "Even If I Could" appeared on The Avengers Soundtrack.
幕后:
Jacoby Shaddix has described the album as a "rediscovery of the basic elements of Papa Roach." He states: "We kind of went back and looked at the history of our band and really thought about… Creatively, what evolutions have we gone through? When we came in, it was, like, metal and hip-hop and nu-metal, and then we kind of got more into straight-ahead rock and then we added pop elements to our band. So this record just encompasses everything we’ve done from the beginning to where we are currently as a band; it just kind of connects the dots of all the elements of our sound over the years."
In regards to the album's title, Shaddix stated it was one of many different titles the band went through. "We always just kept coming back to ‘The Connection.’" stated Shaddix. "What ‘The Connection’ means to us, it’s our connection to the music, it’s the connection of this music to the fans, it’s the connection that we make onstage with our music, it’s the connection from fan-to-fan on the social Internet marketing media world."

Californian rockers PAPA ROACH will release their eighth studio album "F.E.A.R.", on January 27, 2015 via Eleven Seven Music. The follow-up to 2012's "The Connection" was recorded at Las Vegas' The Hideout Recording Studio, which is owned and operated by Canadian producer Kevin Churko, who has previously worked with OZZY OSBOURNE, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, IN THIS MOMENT and HELLYEAH.
PAPA ROACH guitarist Jerry Horton revealed that the band worked with two producers, Kevin Churko and Kevin's son Kane, saying, "We did the first five songs with Kevin, the dad, and then the last seven with the son, because [Kevin] had a prior engagement with IN THIS MOMENT… It was a different sort of workflow, but we got into it and it was cool. And I think we came out with some really good stuff."
PAPA ROACH singer Jacoby Shaddix told Kerrang! magazine that "F.E.A.R." is "probably the most positive record we've written," adding, "There's obviously been an element of hope within the despair of the music that we write, and I think that that's always key, and that's very important to what we do, is to always have that element of hope, and that's laced throughout the record."
Shaddix, a recovering alcoholic and drug user, said he was nervous about camping out in Las Vegas during the recording sessions for the new album. He explained, "I've been sober for a few years now, and it was just, like, 'All right, how am I gonna go to Vegas and stay focused?' And I just had to put my spiritual armor on and just go out there and do my best to be creative."
Shaddix described the new album as "all things good PAPA ROACH — it's big, banging riffs, it's a very guitar-heavy record . . . It spans across the board, from heavy to reflective, to just in your face, out of control. It's just everything that we believe is great about PAPA ROACH."
The Papa Roach is :
Jacoby Shaddix – vocals
Jerry Horton – lead guitar, backing vocals
Tobin Esperance – bass guitar, backing vocals
Tony Palermo – drums, percussion

Originally released on November 3, 1992 by Epic Records.

The band released their demo also Rage Against The Machine, 11 months prior which contained earlier recordings of 7 out of 12 songs found on this album.

With politically themed lyrical content, the album artwork was notable for featuring a graphic photograph of Thích Quảng Đức committing self-immolation. Rage Against the Machine was a critical success upon release with several critics noting the album's politically motivated agenda as well as de la Rocha's strong delivery.

Rated number 24 on the Rolling Stone's list of "100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time", the album peaked at number 1 on the US Billboard Heatseekers chart and number 45 on the US Billboard 200 and has gone on to achieve triple platinum sales certification in the US and produced four singles:
"Killing In The Name"
"Bullet In The Head"
"Bombtrack"
"Freedom"

The band announced on October 9, 2012, via their Facebook page that they would be releasing a special 20th anniversary boxset to commemorate the group's debut album. The boxset contains never-before-released concert material, including the band's 2010 Finsbury Park show and footage from early in their career, as well as a digitally-remastered version of the album, B-sides and the original Rage Against The Machine demo tape (on CD for the first time). The collection was released on November 27, 2012.

A great sophomore effort, though not as important as its predecessor or successor. The title track is a classic example of the group's imaginative fusion of roaring guitars and dance beats - next time someone tries to tell you Korn was original, or any good, point them to this record and tell them the rap-metal thing had been around long before Korn, and was actually good once. And there are more great songs than just that: the funny "You Talk Too Much," which also offers some sweet synths; "Jam-Master Jammin'" is a great showpiece for Jay; a fine reggae experiment ("Roots, Rap, Reggae," one of the first songs to make the connection between the two genres - Yellowman adds a great vocal), and a bunch of songs with great riffs and turntable work: "Can You Rock it Like This?," "Rock the House," "You're Blind." The group's tendency to base an entire song on an obnoxious novelty comes along to hurt the otherwise respectable "It's Not Funny" - in this case, it's a deep, vocodored voice reciting the title track - but there's great rapping throughout ("Darryl and Joe"). Really, there isn't a single bad song on this album.

Tougher Than Leather is a 1988 studio album for American rap group Run-D.M.C. and a follow-up to their hit Raising Hell. While the new record did not maintain the same popularity as its predecessor, it obtained platinum status and spawned the favorites "Run's House" and "Mary, Mary" (a cover of The Monkees' song). Tougher Than Leather was the group's fourth effort and blended in elements of not only rap but also rock n' roll and funk, making it their most varied effort to date alongside King of Rock. "Papa Crazy" is based on Papa Was a Rollin' Stone by the The Temptations.
A film of the same name, starring the members of Run-D.M.C. and their producer, Rick Rubin, was also released in 1988.

9.0 (191 ratings) Guns N' Roses genre: 硬摇滚
release date 1991-01-01 publisher: Geffen Records
A few months after the release of Guns N’ Roses’ debut album, 1987’s Appetite for Destruction, went platinum, Axl Rose gave an interview in which he described a piano ballad he’d been working on called “November Rain.” By that point, the band knew it well: They’d recorded a demo of it nearly a year before starting Appetite, and their guitarist, Slash, remembers an even earlier version that had expanded to 18 minutes. The song seemed to torture Rose—or, at least, represented an ideal he was obsessed with bringing to life. If he didn’t get it right, he told the interviewer, he’d quit music.
The best comparison for 1991’s Use Your Illusion I and its fraternal twin, Use Your Illusion II, isn’t music, but film. The budget, the combined two-hour runtime, the scale, the fact that the band was almost never in the same room at the same time: This isn’t music captured, but music built—piece by audacious piece. Riki Rachtman, a former MTV personality and friend of the band, joked that the moment he knew they’d changed for good was during the last sequence of the video for “Estranged,” in which Axl not only jumps off an aircraft carrier into the ocean, but follows it with a sequence of him swimming with dolphins.
This, though, is where Rose’s head was at, and what Use Your Illusion represents: not the spontaneity of bar bands, but the methodical grandeur of blockbusters. The climactic held vocal note of “Don’t Cry”—nearly 30 seconds, twisting in the spotlight—confirms what some listeners probably already figured out: Rose dreamed of opera. He later said he didn’t just want to outdo their debut, but bury it. And in a way, Use Your Illusion is an even scarier effort: tender one minute (“November Rain,” “Dead Horse”) and cruel the next (“Back Off Bitch,” “Bad Obsession”), an exercise in emotional whiplash that verges on the psychopathic.
But even by the band’s own standards, it was vicious: Where Appetite talks about addiction with a sense of swagger or double entendre (“Nightrain,” “Mr. Brownstone”), Use Your Illusion offers a 10-minute death fantasy called “Coma”; where Appetite is “feel my serpentine” (“Welcome to the Jungle”), Use Your Illusion is “suck my fucking dick” (“Get in the Ring”). Of the two volumes, the second is weirder and more adventurous. Slash once compared the entire project to The Beatles’ White Album (only not as good, he genuflected), but the experience is more like The Rolling Stones’ Exile on Main St.: sprawling, dislocated, less about any single song than the rollercoaster-like effect of the larger picture. And as massive as its impact was on the shape of ’90s rock, there are elements of the albums—and II, especially—that resonate even more closely with gangsta rap: the cinematic scope (“Civil War”), the mix of nostalgia and sentimentality (“Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door”) with almost paranoiac meanness (“You Could Be Mine”).
Both of its volumes seeing release on the same day, Use Your Illusion came out at a time when a wave of underground bands was redefining mainstream rock by trading grandiosity for modesty. But 1991 also marked the death of Freddie Mercury and, by extension, the end of Queen as we often remember them. The coincidence is poetic: As Nirvana and their peers largely eschewed rock’s taste for spectacle, G N' R embodied it. Like a fading starlet leaning into a nervous breakdown, Axl preens for the camera, knowing it won’t look away.
