Disney Pixar's Up Soundtrack flies high behind the first-class compositions of Michael Giaccino. The music will be especially memorable to those who have seen the film, but even if you haven't been to the theater to watch the movie yet, the Up Soundtrack is a treat to the ears.

This album represents what is akin to a piano recital. As a piano student I never participated in this standard ritual (the recital). The pieces that I choose are not ones that are terribly difficult to master and typically serve as pieces that I play to "keep my fingers nimble". I felt compelled to try a project recording classical music, by the masters; such as Mozart, Bach and Beethoven. I learned much more from the process of recording these pieces than I had anticipated. With all that being said, here it is, for your listening pleasure, completely free of charge. Download, listen, relax, take a walk in the park with this music, or fall asleep to it. Whatever your application of these songs, I hope they offer something to you.

I'm fascinated by the human voice. I love the different ways that people sing--from the early-morning call of the muezzin, to the melancholy lament of the fadista, to the lonely Mongolian long song echoing across the mountains. When I write new pieces, I try to share a bit of that love.
The Drop That Contained the Sea is a collection of commissioned works, reimagined and arranged for chorus and orchestra. Each of the 10 pieces is sung in a different language, exploring a different vocal tradition. Each piece also deals with water in a different form, arranged in the order that water flows through the world: melting snow, mountain streams, rivers, the ocean, and so forth. And like my last album Calling All Dawns, the end of the album flows back into the beginning, reflecting the endless nature of the water cycle.
Finally, the title The Drop That Contained the Sea comes from a Sufi concept: in the same way that every drop of water contains the essence of the sea, inside every human is the essence of all of humanity. In keeping with this idea I've introduced a water theme in the prelude, and woven subtle variations throughout the album. It contains all seven notes of a major scale-four descending and three ascending-mirroring the flow of water through our world, and representing the vast ocean of melodic possibility contained within a single scale.

Calling All Dawns is a song-cycle in three movements: day, night and dawn. Each movement corresponds to a different phase of life--life, death, and rebirth. In short, it's 5 songs about life, 3 songs about death, and 4 songs about rebirth. There are songs of joy, mystery, and hardship, reflecting the complexity of our mortal selves. There are songs of the deepest, darkest sorrow to accompany us through death. And finally, there are songs of triumph and exultation that bring us roaring back to life, beginning the cycle anew.

The twelve songs are sung in twelve languages, including Swahili, Mandarin, Hebrew, Irish, Farsi, and many more. The lyrics themselves come from a variety of sources, both sacred and secular: Japanese haiku, Maori proverbs, the Torah, the Bhagavad Gita, and many more. Each song flows seamlessly into the next, and the album ends on the same chord that it opens with--thereby representing the fluid, cyclical nature of the universe. It carries a strong message of unity: that regardless of race, culture and religious belief, we are all connected through our common human experience.
Calling All Dawns was recorded at the world-famous Abbey Road Studios with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Lucas Richman. Performers on the album include the Grammy-winning Soweto Gospel Choir, Grammy-nominated opera singer Frederica von Stade, Portuguese fado sensation Dulce Pontes, early-music quartet Anonymous 4, and Iranian singer Sussan Deyhim, J-Pop star Lia, and an ensemble of over 200 instrumentalists and singers. It was recorded and mixed by three-time Grammy-winning engineer John Kurlander.
Calling All Dawns is Christopher Tin's debut album. It was started in 2005, and released October 1st, 2009, nearly four years after its conception.

马丁史柯西斯邀请Kim Allen Kluge与Kathryn Kluge担任【沉默】的原创音乐创作，史柯西斯特别跟两人强调，他不要日本音乐或是葛利果圣歌(Gregorian Chant)，他要的是自然的声音，Kim在读了原著小说之后，瞭解导演的用意，夫妻两人在这样的指示下，打破了电影音乐的传统惯例，在这部电影的原创音乐裡放入了彼此之间存在著矛盾的各类型音乐，还有令人难以捉摸，饶富禅意的音乐。
Kim Allen Kluge与Kathryn Kluge以小说作为创作的起点，夫妻俩觉得音乐应该逐渐化身成为电影中的雾、石头、海、风、雨，他们认为作家远藤周作在书中以这五种大自然的天候、意象、物质做为主导动机，两人把这些主导动机解读为那可能是上帝透过大自然对天主教教士洛特里哥说话的声音，但洛特里哥却听不到的声音。此外，他们认为在洛特里哥与卡尔倍置身迷雾中，水裡浮现神秘脸孔这些情节段落时，音乐则是为电影提供了一种幻想，幻象的作用。
综合上述的理论，Kim决定为电影创作一篇全新的「神道」(Shinto *视自然界各种动植物为神祇的日本原始宗教)音乐，他与老婆谱写了许多梦幻曲，然后，也用音乐来描述电影裡的印象或声音，他们在有著日本琵琶、十七世纪室内乐常见的古大提琴(viola da gamba *一种能呈现巴洛克音乐风貌的乐器)，象徵日本与葡萄牙的音乐为核心的乐曲中，融入了由日本音效团队所录製的蝉的声音与海的声音，两人经常用听起来像是蝉在哭泣的声音来表达片中殉道者的恸哭。
【沉默】的原创音乐就像是大自然的声音与人类情感之间的和谐共鸣，是一篇永恆的音乐作品，也是一篇独特的音乐作品。
