Like a fuzzy storm of reverberating guitar distortion, melting into expansive soundscapes with male/female vocals. The debut album, 'Vibragun', chronicles songwriter Joel Bergstrom’s experiences living around the world but finding identity and redemption in his adopted home.

The two new songs from each band are perfected with the expertise of veteran producer Will Yip. Whirr’s signature atmospheric haze enthralls more than ever in what seems like a nine-minute dream. Their masterful control of soundscapes is matched only by an intensity that their shoegazing predecessors could only wish to achieve. Nothing’s contribution is a full-on aural assault: the two songs are aggressive, yet harmonious.The ongoing blown-out barrage lulls with only brief periods of quiet melody that hit like armistices. Yet, the songs are harshly beautiful in a way that perfectly captures the Philadelphia band’s definition of reality.
The split 12" comes with an etched b-side as well as a full-length Whirr/Nothing 'In The Studio' documentary DVD.

The Hobbes Fanclub highly anticipated debut LP Up At Lagrange will be available August 19th on Shelflife Records.
The band hails from Bradford, England and was started in 2008 by singer/guitarist Leon Carroll. After releasing two split cdr singles on Cloudberry and Dufflecoat Records, Leon was joined by Louise and Adam to fill in the rhythm section on bass and drums respectively. They released their smash debut 7" "Your Doubting Heart" on Shelflife in August 2012 and came over to play the NYC Popfest last year. Now they're ready to unleash their debut album and we can't wait to share it with the world!
The album packs a feedback punch in the face, hitting you with the perfect amount of distortion and melody. There is a bit of an early 90s attitude throughout the album, full of restrained production values and classic song structures. They show off their knack for writing catchy boy/girl vocal melodies up against hazy overdriven guitars and driving rhythms. Up At Lagrange is a refreshingly diverse album that will leave you wanting to listen on repeat all summer long.
The band is touring extensively this summer in the UK, playing Indietracks and other festivals to support the record.

The Bilinda Butchers "HEAVEN" is a soundtrack set to the diary by Nakajima Ume, a young woman who lived in Japan from 1836 to 1864. The diary's entries catalog her catastrophic marriage to a cruel nobleman, and her later introduction to a young, idealistic poet whose expressions of sympathy inspire her to escape from her unfortunate circumstances. When her friendship with the poet is discovered, Ume is sent away to a distant village, where she falls into a deep depression and eventually learns of the poet’s death. Though the news of the poet’s death initially disturbs Ume, she soon discovers within herself a new sense of clarity and motivation. Her diary ends with a final pronouncement: she will drown herself in order to reunite with her fallen lover.
