Released in December of 2001, Scream The Sound is The Emerald Down's debut full length CD. With it's huge guitar swells, sexy melodies and fluid vocal harmonies the album's sonic landscape has been compared to bands such as Secret Shine, the Cure, My Bloody Valentine, Curve, Slowdive and Pink Floyd. However, Scream The Sound maintains a raw, loud and dirty edge that makes it appealing to fans of other music genres. Scream the Sound has been receiving rotation on college radio stations in the US, Canada and Europe.The CD was recorded by Andy Bosnak and Laurent Bichara at Engine Studios, Chicago, IL in just four days with no track over dubs except for vocals and some tambourine. For that reason Scream The Sound is a great live capture of the band's sound.

Westkust are a Swedish quintet who share two members with Makthaverskan, and like them they play noise pop with dual Female / Male vocals and a love of early My Bloody Valentine

On this album from Tokyo Shoegazer Atsuo from Boris contibutes drums and sound effects on 2 songs. Other guest musicians such as Shinobu Narita participate as well.

Melbourne-based shoegazers Flyying Colours return with a second EP of psychedelic pop textures tempered with sugar-rush melodies. The ROYGBIV EP is out May 12th in the US available on limited 12" vinyl and digital download.
Hailing from a country more synonymous with the beachcombers and the sunshine coast than shoegaze luminaries, Flyying Colours have nonetheless been compared to Lush and Ride, weaving smooth, tactile vocals with coarse textures with finely-crafted songwriting.
True to their name, Flyying Colours unashamedly display their influences on ROYGBIV - tone-bending My Bloody Valentine / Swervedriver guitars, ferocious bass hooks and the familiar soft hush of early 90s dueting vocals. Added to the mix is their own edgy, refreshing pop-mindedness, buoyed by the lush vocal interplay
On "Running Late" guitars overlap, playing seemingly different melodies and rhythms, as the vocals float up from the ether of the background. Hearkening back to the 80s but also at once sounding thoroughly futuristic, there's finely-textured guitar loops and lo-fi delay used to get effect throughout the record. "Not Today" and "Leaks" share the same considerable style and skill: successfully channelling not just Kevin Shield's growling, bending, wall-of-sound guitars, but also Bilinda Butcher's cooing, unintelligible vocals. The album opener "I Don't Want To Let You Down" sports a rolling darkwave groove that's like Joy Division gone psychedelic.
Formed in 2011, Flyying Colours self-titled EP received a considerable amount of attention, which was then backed up by their explosive live shows, setting them well apart from others occupying Melbourne's fledgling shoegaze scene. A follow-up, ROYGBIV is a snapshot of a band reaching for the heavens and finding themselves reflected in at all over the cosmos: a sign of greater things to come.
ROYGBIV is a co-release with Club AC30 in the UK in a limited edition of 600 180 gram 12" copies worldwide with digital download. There will be unique colored vinyl per label -- 300 copies on ruby pink for the US and 300 on purple rain for the UK.

1995年，发迹自Shoegazer运动的英国里丁乐队Slowdive宣佈解散，为他们划上了句号。
人所共知，Slowdive的两位主将Neil Halstead和Rachel Goswell随即联同第二代鼓手Ian McCutcheon另组成Mojave 3，并加盟在独立名厂4AD旗下；而Neil和Rachel在近年更先后推出个人专辑。另一边厢，来到2000年，其结他手Christian Savill则跟他的旧日拍档Sean Hewson「复合」，组成Monster Movie。何以二人是复合呢？原来早在1989年，Christian和Sean本属Eternal这支乐团，更在Bristol传奇性Indie- Pop独立厂牌Sarah旗下出版过一张单曲Breath。及后乐队因为Christian转投Slowdive而告一段落。想不到分道扬鑣近十载，他俩又可以再走在一起组乐队，以Monster Movie延续其合作关係。
All Lost已是Monster Movie的第三张专辑，也是他们转投别具个性的芝加哥独立厂牌Graveface，继去年年初的七曲迷你专辑Transistor后的2006年全新作品。
重新衡量
2002 年初，听过Monster Movie(不知其名字是否取自德国Krautrock教父Can的首张专辑Monster Movie呢？)在Clairecords旗下发表的首张专辑Last Night Something Happened，有趣地发觉他们歌曲的Chord Progression与节奏，乃跟Slowdive为同出一辙，那好让我对Christian Savill这位结他手作出重新衡量。
在Slowdive当中，我们一直视Neil Halstead为创作主脑。没错，Slowdive作品的曲词的而且确是出自Neil之手笔，然而乐队一首首梦幻、凄美、飘逸、曼妙而气氛化的 Shoegazer/Dream-Pop歌曲，其曲风却是造就於Christian的结他上。甚至追溯回Eternal的作品如Sleep及 Breathe，那不难察觉到当时他们的歌曲已有很Slowdive式结他音乐氛围。
Slowdive解体后，Neil等人的Mojave 3走上了Laidback音乐路线，跟Slowdive的曲风为之大相逕庭。然而Christian组成Monster Movie，却是把Slowdive的韵味加以延续。只是没有了那源自My Bloody Valentine的结他Droning氛围与音量，换上是清爽的结他音色。Monster Movie的音乐，大可形容为朴实版的Slowdive。
最重要是Monster Movie的歌曲，总来得如斯美丽而叫人怦然心动得没话说。

02 年秋天，Monster Movie跟Dreamend在Graveface旗下出版过一张Split单曲，令他们跟这所芝加哥厂牌扯上关係，当他们在04年发表过第二张专辑To The Moon之后，Monster Movie便正式加入成为Graveface的一份子。加盟Graveface的见面礼，是Transistor这张迷你专辑，有别於以往，是他们找来 Experimental Aircarft的女歌手Rachel Staggs为Monster Movie献唱了好几首歌曲。今次在All Lost里，Rachel继续作为Monster Movie的「第三成员」，只是大多数时候她都处於和唱的角色。
All Lost仍是一张万般动听的Monster Movie专辑，满溢如细水长流的情感。Vanishing Act正是他们那种美丽、清爽而雋永依然的歌曲，No One Can Know在鏗鏘的木结他下带来是一首如沐春风之作，而Return To Yesterday大抵可重拾回多少Slowdive时代的Noise-Pop丰采，但手法当然是清新可喜得多。要縈绕心头的动容歌曲，亦有The Stars That Surround You、The Impossible和Falling Into The Sun等漂亮而楚楚动人的Ballad，以及Acousitc-Folk的神伤小品Hope I Find The Moon。
电气怪物 Monster Movie不独是一支结他乐队，所以来到All Lost，他们也不忘彰显他们的多元化路线。所以唱片以一首Ambient乐章Behm来揭开序幕，然后又有3#这首充满电影感的电子乐曲。甚至乎，他们更打造了Driving Through The Red Lights和Vertical Planes这两首Electro-Pop曲目（后者更玩起Vocoder来）——Monster Movie玩Electro-Pop，感觉仍清爽依然，就有如昔日The Field Mice的电子曲目般美妙。
话时话，Slowdive的第一代鼓手Simon Scott站出来充当灵魂人物的新乐团Televise，他们亦已出版了首张专辑Songs To Sing In a&E。难得是这群前Slowdive成员仍活跃於乐坛。

Burger Records is proud to present the sophmore record from Israeli shoegaze and dream pop trio Vaadat Charigim. "Captured in Tel Aviv, the analog recordings for their new LP Sinking As A Stone were sent to Kyle "Slick" Johnson for the mixing, with mastering completed at Bonati Mastering, NYC. The energy of the band is marvelous, planted to the floor from the charging acoustic guitar, bass and drum section, then blasted into a sheet of wavering beauty from the subtle electric guitar overtones. The vocal tone of Vaadat Charigim grabbed me with force when I first heard the band a few years back and that same power remains true with "Ein Li Makom". Every word is sang with the highest notion and sentiment of emotional conviction, matching the sonic potency of the music that it rests upon. It's a poetic and meaningful expression of sound that makes me feel incredible and I can't thank the band enough for creating this type of sound for the world to take something from. "Ein Li Makom" has the resonance of the best '80s dream pop and shoegaze ever made, entering a world few bands are able to chart."

Very limited 12" (250) on heavyweight coloured vinyl (transparent orange with blue spots)."Were We Ever Here' is the first new material from Air Formation since reforming in 2014. Loosely based around the group of songs they were working on in 2010 before their split, the band worked on the EP in secret, stating "We thought it would be a more exciting, organic, experience if we just got on with it un-announced and released it as fast as we could." Air Formation formed in 2000, long before their spiritual forebears Slowdive and Loop were once again considered acceptable influences, and gained a devoted following for their albums Daylight Storms and Nothing To Wish For (Nothing to Lose). Their incendiary live show also saw them share stages with the likes of Vessels and Efterklang.Ten years on, the swathes of feedback and distortion are all present and correct, while adding surprising new touches, such as swooping New Order synths. Slow-building opener 'I Could Stay' comes to life in a swooning burst of fuzzed-up bass and hyperactive Ride-like drums. Closing track 'The Wasted Days' takes the entire EP into another gear, shifting from kinetic drone-pop to expansive post-rock territory, bringing this record to a close in a shower of noise The band's spark has returned. With a vengeance.

Maria False dwells in obscurity leaves the recording, like a creature coming out of its cave. Haunting rhythms, acid guitars, incantatory voice... The constant tension is the tone of their music. Their dark side is assumed, and sometimes we'd like to vanish in their cold, shiny and bright reflections...

Static Daydream is the new project of Paul Baker (founding member of Skywave and Ceremony), and their first full-length release is comprised of 11 noisy pop songs swathed in reverb and distortion.
In 2012, Paul, and his girlfriend and musical partner, Jamie Casey, began recording what would become their debut EP, "The Only One," released on Moon Sounds Records in 2014 to much adoration.
Their self-titled album on Saint Marie Records with Moon Sounds Records, released in 2015, is full of melancholic, romantic, distortion-fueled songs, dripping with reverb and classic songwriting. Inspired by 60's girl groups, 80's and 90's British noise-pop, and assisted by Jake Reid of Screen Vinyl Image and Ice Station Mastering, Static Daydream's debut is full of dreamy, hook-laden songs reminiscent of Skywave, The Jesus and Mary Chain and Slowdive.

“Colours & Changes” is the 2nd album from the UK band Presents for Sally. Formed in 2009, the three piece has taken in many influences and managed to form a sound all of their own. If the debut album showed promise of what the band could do, then “Colours & Changes” has set it in stone. The ten songs form a musical journey that takes you down several roads that all meet and make perfect sense in the end. At times melodic and beautiful, and others pure white noise with lots of delayed, detuned guitars sandwiched in between. “Colours & Changes” takes on a life of its own.
Each song seems to grow into something spectacular and produces many goosebump-filled moments but also shows a band full of confidence in what they are doing and what they set out to achieve. Having achieved RadioOne and XFM airplay in the UK with previous singles, there seems to be no reason why this album will not only match that but push the band even further.

BELIEFS started abruptly when Josh Korody and Jesse Crowe met at good friend and former Bassist, Patrick McCormack’s birthday party and couldn’t stop talking about the music of the 90’s. Through the love of My Bloody Valentine and Sonic Youth, the memory of reverb and fuzz was revisited and Beliefs was formed.
Since their formation in 2010, Beliefs have released a two song single and b-side (Untitled, 2012 HDD) as well as a full length record (self titled, 2013 HDD, Manimal, No Pain In Pop) and are currently set to release their follow up, Leaper via HDD on October 23rd, 2015. Beliefs have been lucky enough to share the stage with fantastic artists such as; A Place to Bury Strangers, Disappears, The Breeders, Toy, Algiers, Moon Duo, Beach Fossils, Suuns, and Fucked Up.
Beliefs are prolific artists and musicians in the Toronto music scene, with Crowe recording in projects PRAISES and ROLEMODEL, and Korody as a founding member of WISH and NAILBITER as well as producing countless projects at his Candle Recordings studio. Beliefs are now set to present Leaper at shows and to festivals such as Supercrawl, POP Montreal, and New York’s CMJ along side the Hand Drawn Dracula family.
