It's entirely possible that I'm being too generous with my rating, and I admit that there are a few...oddities?...with some of the choices made here, but I was completely engaged the whole time and I really enjoy Hugh Grant in this role.
In summary, if I rated it too high, I blame Hugh Grant.

My wife and I could not stop laughing at how many pre-film production company logo splash screens there were for this movie, and I couldn't stop thinking that maybe it was just going to be a movie of production company cards shown back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back ad infinitum which made me laugh to myself even more.
Anyway, those dogs are the worst.

This movie is almost up to the snuff with the first. Josh Brolin as young Tommy Lee Jones' Agent K is wunderbar.
Torn between 4 and 4.5, but going lower for now.

You know what? F it! It's just about as good as the first two, and where it lacked is some areas (missed Sally Hawkins), it made up for in others (Olivia Colman! Antonio Banderas!).
It's also filled with just as much heart and whimsy, and I cried yet again, so yeah. Five stars.

I have a vague recollection of thinking this movie was fine back when I first saw it some 25 years-or-so ago, and it remains fine now upon rewatch.
It's a film very much of its time about how a run can really clear one's mind and how hindsight is, in fact, 20-20.
