Original soundtrack to the 2011 motion picture composed by Sigur Ros main man Jon Thor Birgisson AKA Jonsi. Written and recorded in short order, over four months this summer/fall at the famous Village Studios in Los Angeles and at the singer's home studio in his native Iceland, the soundtrack to We Bought A Zoo comprises more than half-an-hour of brand new music from Jonsi, including two full songs and nine achingly beautiful themes, plus songs from Jonsi's acclaimed solo album, Go, as well as what might well be regarded as Sigur Ros' most memorable tune, in 'Hoppipolla'. Orchestral arrangements on the score have been handled by previous Jonsi working partner, and 'Reader' soundtrack composer, Nico Muhly, who brings his quixotic genius to the string and brass sections.

Following on from the success of 2009's "Pins and Digits", Julien Dyne announces the release of his second full length album "Glimpse" . Stylistically a continuation of the futuristic elements hinted at on "Pins and Digits" "Glimpse" offers studies in shimmering melodies, woozy beds of rich harmonic sounds that pulsate over thick percussive backdrops. Featuring the vocal talents of She's So Rad, Ladi 6, Parks, Mara TK (Electric Wire Hustle ) and Claire Duncan (Dear Time's Waste) this record contains elements of soul and indie vocals against a backdrop of futuristic Hip Hop beats . Picked up by Japanese boutique label Wonderful Noise and UK heavy weights BBE 2009s "Pins and Digits" received worldwide exposure from BBC DJ's Gilles Peterson and Benji B reaching both DJ's ' top 100 ' lists for that year. 'Glimpse' offers to raise the bar higher again, moving further into exploratory electronic forays and deeper into hazy beatscapes.
The Family Tree: The Roots 豆瓣

After four years milling over the concept and fifteen months recording alone in the tool shed behind his mother's house in Jacksonville Florida, Ben Cooper, AKA Radical Face, is finally ready to release his sophomore album The Family Tree: The Roots out October 4th on Bear Machine. It's the follow-up to his 2007 debut indie triumph Ghost, and the first installment of what will eventually be three stand alone records all tied to the theme of a Family Tree--once again separating himself from all things traditional. Hauntingly beautiful, The Family Tree: The Roots has all the makings of an indie classic. Don t be fooled by Ben s understated voice and the simple beginnings. Each song builds in layers much like the depth of its characters. From soaring tracks like A Pound of Flesh and Severus and Stone, eerily dark pieces like Black Eyes and Kin to warm enlightening gems like Always Gold and Mountains, the songs flow together with mindful artistic clarity, allowing you to fully escape into the album as the stories unravel. Based on a fictitious, sometimes otherworldly family in the 1800 s, Ben limited the songwriting to instruments that would have been accessible in that era--piano, acoustic guitar, a floor tom, and voices--only bringing in additional instruments during tracking when needed. I like storytelling, and wanted that to be the focus. I looked up genealogy charts and studied some American history for a frame of reference, then pulled from personal experiences and put it all together. Such concepts and stories come naturally to Ben, whom before turning to music wrote fiction. He switched to music after a hard drive crash where he lost his two nearly completed novels. Three albums dissecting a family and its descendants from the 19th and 20th centuries might seem outlandish to most, but for an artist whose history involves giving away compete records exclusively in exchange for mailing him anything but money, we can expect no less. One half of the band Electric President and with side projects like Clone, Mothers Basement and Patients, chances are you're already familiar with Ben s music. The Radical Face track Welcome Home has garnered over 5 million Youtube views. It appeared as the soundtrack for the I AM NIKON campaign and in such movies as Humboldt County, The Vicious Kind and the Reel Rock Documentary. Further Radical Face television support has come from shows like Private Practice, Skins, Eddie Izzard and Weeds, as well as support from Current TV who nationally aired a documentary piece on Radical Face in 2008. Most recently Ben has also lent his music to support the It Gets Better Google Chrome Campaign and the Ride 4 Water charity raising funds for clean drinking water in Africa.

Tiny Ruins 类型: 民谣

Tiny Ruins is the project of New Zealand musician & songwriter Hollie Fullbrook. It sprang from writing music for theatre productions in Wellington, dabbling in four-track recording and playing at live music and poetry nights. Samuel Prutton committed the first Tiny Ruins songs to record, in the form of rough demos, which, by way of the internet, were able to reach many more ears.
After working with respected Auckland producer Djeisan Suskov on a yet-to-be-released EP, Tiny Ruins went a-roaming in May of 2010, embarking on a small but noble tour of Northern Spain with Barcelona-based musician ‘a Singer of Songs’. A collaborative EP – ‘Little Notes’ – was born, featuring three songs from each of the pair. Recorded in an old apartment in Barcelona, it was released on December the 6th, 2010, by HI54LOFI Records (Canada) and Underused Records (UK).
2010 drew to a close with the first Tiny Ruins album, Some Were Meant For Sea, being recorded in the wildernesses of South Gippsland, Australia by J Walker (CW Stoneking, Holly Throsby, Machine Translations). Early 2011 saw Tiny Ruins playing shows in Australia supporting acts such as Beach House, Joanna Newsom, Wildbirds & Peacedrums, Holly Throsby & The Hello Tigers, The Middle East, Sonny & The Sunsets, Olof Arnalds and Grand Salvo.
Some Were Meant For Sea was released by influential Aussie label Spunk Records in New Zealand on May 30th, and will be released in Australia on July 1st, 2011.

On September 13th, 2011 San Francisco’s Girls will release their second album and third record Father, Son, Holy Ghost on True Panther Sounds and Turnstile in the UK/Europe. The album comes two years after their debut (Album), and one year after the follow-up EP (Broken Dreams Club).
On the third anniversary of the birth of Girls as a band Christopher Owens and Chet White found themselves entering the studio to begin recording their second album. More a collection of gear than a studio, recording took place in the bowels of a San Francisco office building. The two teamed up with new drummer Darren Weiss and guitarist John Anderson assembling performances and ultimately creating new music and musical relationships to carry the band through its newest incarnation.
Girls have taken what they’ve always done best and have displayed it with amazing clarity and the strongest of intent. Classic songwriting coupled with exciting production is their way. “I’m still all the same,” Owens says. “I still know I have to do it. I still love the songs and writing songs.”
Father. Son, Holy Ghost is at times ebullient and at times absolutely devastating. A truly beautiful record and the perfect amalgamation of a band’s past and present while most importantly leaving us all excited and hungry for their future.
