Not a new band, howver one that deserves a mention! The End of the Ocean have a new CD coming out soon, and what a corker it seems to be! Appearing on Future Recordings, it’s going to be an 8 track CD/Digital download. Track 5 has already surfaced with a teaser video, so take a moment to watch and listen and you’ll understand why I’m excited.

Russian Circles has detailed their upcoming full-length. The record is titled Empros and is due out October 25, 2011 via Sargent House; once out, it'll follow up 2009's Geneva. In the release, the band promises it to be their heaviest album to date (and without a hint of hyperbole):
"Empros picks up where the anthemic riffs and melodies of 2009′s Geneva left off and injects evermore slithering rhythms amid skull-crushing heft with all the visceral intensity of Godflesh, Swans and Neurosis. Put simply, Empros is Russian Circles' Master of Reality: a radical revision of both heavy and melody that is monolithic in its clarity and perfection. Or, like a lone surviving wooly beast emerging from a brutal winter's frost, Empros is the sound of a band shaking the ages from its shoulders with all the brutal force of a behemoth awakened."

Red Sparowes' latest offering, "The Fear is Excruciating, But Therein Lies the Answer", began with the larger existential pondering of truth, faith, order, causality, and the innate demand for an understanding of the larger world around us. While Red Sparowes’ majesty is hardly in need of story, the provision of the larger metaphor yields a heightened depth and gravity to their work.
Red Sparowes consists of guitarist/keyboardist Bryant Clifford Meyer (also of Isis), bassist/pedal steel player Gregory Burns (ex-Halifax Pier), drummer David Clifford (ex-Pleasure Forever), guitarist/keyboardist Andy Arahood (ex-Angel Hair) and guitarist Emma Ruth Rundle (also of The Nocturnes). The Fear is Excruciating, But Therein Lies the Answer was recorded August - September 2009 at Infrasonic Sound by Toshi Kasai (Melvins, Big Business, Tool). Album photography and design by Greg Burns and layout by Sonny Kay.

inni 是 sigur rós（胜利玫瑰乐团）继 2007 年巡演的纪录片 heima（听风的歌）后第二部现场电影。heima 主要定位于乐队的家乡冰岛，从地理、社会和历史的角度介绍他们的音乐，而 inni 则完全专注于乐队的演出，与 heima 万花筒般丰富多元的内容形成了鲜明对比。heima 给人的感觉是郁郁葱葱、丰富多彩，而 inni 则是淡淡的甚至呈现近乎单一的色调。inni 采用亲切与幽闭恐惧相结合的方式拍摄，使观众与乐队零距离面对面交流，同时描绘乐队与观众的感受，体验现场真实的 sigur rós。

As COCTEAU TWINS guitarist and producer, Robin Guthrie is the man responsible for creating that famous sound and opening the door for My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Ride, et al. Darla Records is very proud to offer Robin Guthrie's second instrumental album Continental. Dare I say... continental is Robin's strongest all-instrumental bliss out, or make out, record since Cocteau Twins. Robin gives more heart and soul on Continental than on his previous instrumental release Imperial. Continental is more focused, stronger in feeling, and in composition. Of course all of Robin's signature elements are here: Shimmering guitars, ethereal moods as fluid and deep as any of Eno's, and yes, he does at times thankfully bring the rock. The mood overall is classic Robin Guthrie. Fans of the Cocteau Twins and all they've spawned, please welcome back your daddy. This is the first of four new Robin Guthrie records for Darla. Robin's music is a treasure. He's one of the great all-time heroes of the current bliss pop generation, which includes Mahogany, Auburn Lull, Ulrich Schnauss, Manual, Sweet Trip, Windy & Carl, Landing, Aarktica, Yellow6, and many, many others.

2009 release, the follow-up to their debut LP Not For Want Of Trying. Sing The Word Hope In Four-Part Harmony once again takes the wide-screen expanses and beauty of Post-Rock and combines it with the immediacy and brutality of Hardcore. This is an intentionally 'accessible' instrumental record - The climaxes and breakdowns condensed into a concise 30 minutes of noise. It's difficult for an instrumental band to make a serious social statement without the use of lyrics, but Sing The Word Hope In Four-Part Harmony is just that. Set against the background of the current recession, and born out of six months of touring their debut LP, this album is a journal of four twenty-something's thoughts and experiences during tough times. Field.

It is finished! The new Our Last Hope Lost Hope album "Persist" has taken a few years to complete but it is now ready. It was recorded by eight musicians in various locations in Sweden and the U.S. between 2007 and 2010. The songs are available for streaming here and should be on Spotify and online music stores shortly. There are no current plans for a physical release, but we're open for suggestions if anyone would be interested. We really hope you'll enjoy the album!

Original soundtrack to the 2011 motion picture composed by Sigur Ros main man Jon Thor Birgisson AKA Jonsi. Written and recorded in short order, over four months this summer/fall at the famous Village Studios in Los Angeles and at the singer's home studio in his native Iceland, the soundtrack to We Bought A Zoo comprises more than half-an-hour of brand new music from Jonsi, including two full songs and nine achingly beautiful themes, plus songs from Jonsi's acclaimed solo album, Go, as well as what might well be regarded as Sigur Ros' most memorable tune, in 'Hoppipolla'. Orchestral arrangements on the score have been handled by previous Jonsi working partner, and 'Reader' soundtrack composer, Nico Muhly, who brings his quixotic genius to the string and brass sections.
