From Fermat to Minkowski 豆瓣
作者: Winfried Scharlau / Hans Opolka Springer 1985
Tracing the story from its earliest sources, this book celebrates the lives and work of pioneers of modern mathematics: Fermat, Euler, Lagrange, Legendre, Gauss, Fourier, Dirichlet and more. Includes an English translation of Gauss's 1838 letter to Dirichlet.
Between Kant and Hegel 豆瓣
作者: Dieter Henrich Harvard University Press 2003 - 10
Electrifying when they were first delivered in 1973, becoming legendary in the years since, as transcripts passed from hand to hand, Dieter Henrich's lectures on German idealism were the first contact a major German philosopher had made with an American audience since the onset of World War II. They remain, to this day, one of the most eloquent interpretations of the central philosophical tradition of Germany and the way in which it relates to the concerns of contemporary philosophy. Thanks to the editorial work of David Pacini, one of the original auditors of Henrich's course, the lectures appear here with annotations that link them to the editions of the masterworks of German philosophy as they are now available.

Henrich describes the movement that led from Kant to Hegel, beginning with an interpretation of the structure and tensions of Kant's system. He locates the Kantian movement and revival of Spinoza, as sketched by F. H. Jacobi, in the intellectual conditions of the time and in the philosophical motivations of modern thought. And he explains the motives behind Fichte's Doctrine of Science. Henrich connects this history to the poet Hölderlin's original philosophy and to the thought of the founders of Romanticism, Novalis and Friedrich Schlegel. He concludes with an interpretation of the basic design of Hegel's system.

Robot Vision 豆瓣
作者: Berthold K.P. Horn The MIT Press 1986 - 3
This book presents a coherent approach to the fast moving field of machine vision, using a consistent notation based on a detailed understanding of the image formation process. It covers even the most recent research and will provide a useful and current reference for professionals working in the fields of machine vision, image processing, and pattern recognition. An outgrowth of the author's course at MIT, Robot Vision presents a solid framework for understanding existing work and planning future research. Its coverage includes a great deal of material that important to engineers applying machine vision methods in the real world. The chapters on binary image processing, for example, help explain and suggest how to improve the many commercial devices now available. And the material on photometric stereo and the extended Gaussian image points the way to what may be the next thrust in commercialization of the results in this area. The many exercises complement and extend the material in the text, and an extensive bibliography will serve as a useful guide to current research.Contents: Image Formation and Image Sensing. Binary Images: Geometrical Properties; Topological Properties. Regions and Image Segmentation. Image Processing: Continuous Images; Discrete Images. Edges and Edge Finding. Lightness and Color. Reflectance Map: Photometric Stereo Reflectance Map; Shape from Shading. Motion Field and Optical Flow. Photogrammetry and Stereo. Pattern Classification. Polyhedral Objects. Extended Gaussian Images. Passive Navigation and Structure from Motion. Picking Parts out of a Bin.Berthold Klaus Paul Horn is Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, MIT. Robot Vision is included in the MIT Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Series.
Memory for Action 豆瓣
作者: Hubert D. Zimmer / Ronald L. Cohen Oxford University Press 2001 - 6
In eight chapters by leading researchers, Memory for Action presents our actual knowledge on memory for actions and the opposing explanaions for these phenomena. It gives an overview of the results from laboratory research on action memory and on memory for activities in social contexts, and presents recent results on memory for intended actions. Additionally, these results are put in relation to the information and to the brain modules which are necessary for successful control of actions.
Principles of Gestalt Psychology 豆瓣
作者: Kurt Koffka Routledge 1999 - 7
Routledge is now re-issuing this prestigious series of 204 volumes originally published between 1910 and 1965. The titles include works by key figures such asC.G. Jung, Sigmund Freud, Jean Piaget, Otto Rank, James Hillman, Erich Fromm, Karen Horney and Susan Isaacs. Each volume is available on its own, as part of a themed mini-set, or as part of a specially-priced 204-volume set. A brochure listing each title in the "International Library of Psychology" series is available upon request.
