Welcome to the wonderful world of Alex Smoke, the young producer from Glasgow whose potent album, Incommunicado is about to be released on Soma Records. This is Alex Smoke’s eagerly awaited debut and what a masterpiece it is. Already a name to watch in the underground electronic circuit he is on the cusp of getting the recognition he deserves.

Alex Smoke is part of a new generation of producers who are blurring the boundaries between minimal, techno and electronica. This music still may live on the dancefloor but it occupies so much more. Drawing from a myriad of influences including dub, electro, grime, latin and experimental pop, Alex Smoke has concocted a deeply emotive artist album that is mysterious, melancholic and inspiring.

With ‘Incommunicado’ Alex Smoke has defined his own unique sound, which respectfully nods to DSP pioneers like Matthew Dear, Villalobos, Luciano and Lawrence, who he regards as very influential. This is an accomplished debut from a talent who is going to shine in 2005.

Lucky Shiner was mixed by Simian Mobile Disco's James Shaw and recorded in two sessions at a shady retreat in the English countryside-Gold Panda's aunt and uncle's Essex home.

Eat Books is the debut album from German electro duo Tiefschwarz. The album's mix of electro, techno, and pop, gives the album mainstream crossover appeal while still keeping their underground vibe alive. Eat Books features a whole host of guest vocalists including Chikinki, The Rapture's Matty Safer, and Massive Attack collaborator and Everything But The Girl vocalist Tracy Thorn. The single 'Wait And See' is also included. Fine. 2005.

Fabric presents yet another brilliant audio journey – this time by well respected German techno and house stalwart, Michael Mayer. Mayer runs Kompakt - the much admired German imprint and distribution network along with the revered techno and house weekly "Connfusion." Mayer, along with co-conspirators Superpitcher and Tobias Thomas have been key players in shaping the envelope pushing sounds currently coming out of an city in Germany which is rapidly gaining a reputation as a fertile bed for creativity in both music and the visual arts: Cologne.

A 16-year turntable veteran Michael is a staunch disciple of the 4/4 sound. Michael says, "The only thing I pre-determine is that I play 4/4. The rest happens by accident. I love the deeper side of music, obviously, but I like it raw and kicking. There has to be some pop sensibility too but... not obviously. The structure of my set is very pop influenced... I love to play... songs... things you can whistle on the way home." Fabric 13 sees Michael doing just that – a brilliant collage of melodies, and tight, tuff beats that will keep you whistling listen after listen!

Following their acclaimed self-titled debut album of unique Nordic electronic sounds, Kiasmos (Ólafur Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen) return with album highlight "Looped," featuring an ambient, textured sound made from acoustic instruments next to a variety of synthesizers, drum machines, and tape delays, as well as a grand piano -- perfect for home listening and equally danceable. UK electronic producer Dauwd (Kompakt, Ghostly) delivers a chilled club version of "Held." Ukrainian pianist and fellow Erased Tapes artist Lubomyr Melnyk presents a unique re-interpretation of "Burnt" in his signature "continuous music" mode, performed on two pianos.

Efdemin has been one of the key artists on Curle since his 2007 debut for the Belgian label, with big releases such as ‘Acid Bells’, ‘America/The Pulse’, remixes from Martyn, John Beltran & Matt O’Brien, and of course the mix-cd ‘Carry On, Pretend We’re Not In The Room’. The long-awaited follow-up ‘Please’ includes two tracks from around the 10 minute mark; ‘Farnsworth House’ and ‘Blount’. That last one Efdemin made together with his good friend and fellow Dial artist Kassian Troyer. Enough with the talking, time to get into the music!

Tour de France Soundtracks (renamed to Tour de France for its remastered release) is the tenth studio album by German electronic music band Kraftwerk. It was first released on 4 August 2003, through Kling Klang and EMI in Europe and Astralwerks in North America. The album was recorded for the 100th anniversary of the first Tour de France bicycle race, although it missed its intended release date for the actual tour. It includes a new recording of their 1983 song of the same name, the cover artwork of both releases being nearly identical. The announcement of the release caused much anticipation, as it had been 17 years since the group had put out a full album of new studio material (1986's Electric Café, also known as Techno Pop).
The album received positive reviews from critics and was a commercial success. It reached No.1 in Germany, the top 40 in the UK, as well as No.3 in the US dance charts.

Danish electronic duo Blue Foundation last released a full-length album back in 2012, and, generally, have been pretty quiet over the past few years. Although they've never been a band you could say was going to blow up into the mainstream, they've always given the world a unique sound that's worthy of being known about ("Eyes On Fire" and "Fundamental" are two tracks that we love from them).
