One night, one apartment and one mystery. Shir wakes up in the middle of the night. Her husband hasn’t come back after taking the dog out. The dog has. But where is Rami? Friends, relatives, neighbours and police come round and with each visit more marital secrets are revealed.
A psychological drama set entirely during one night in one apartment in Tel Aviv. The apartment belongs to young couple Shir and Rami. Shir is woken one evening by the doorbell. An angry neighbour hands over the dog Rami had taken out earlier in the evening. Rami has suddenly disappeared and Shir is worried because he didn’t take his phone or wallet with him.
The film follows events in the apartment during the night, where a series of visitors join the woman waiting: friends, family, the police and unexpected guests.
In the powerful dialogues and occasionally fierce confrontations, humiliating secrets come to the surface. An increasingly clear and complex picture emerges of the characters of Rami and Shir, and of the nature of their relationship, which was nowhere near as harmonious as initially suggested. The long night, during which the mood in the apartment changes, as does Shir’s, comes to an abrupt and unexpected end.

Beitar Jerusalem is the most popular and influential soccer team in Israel. It also happens to be the only one that has never contracted a Muslim player. Forever Pure follows the team over the tumultuous 2012-2013 season. The team’s owner is Arcadi Gaydamak, a wealthy Israeli-Russian with political ambitions and an extremely dubious reputation. Following a successful first few games, Gaydamak causes shockwaves when a secret transfer deal brings two Muslim players from Chechnya onto the team. Both young men have to face racist chants and choruses of whistles from the crowd; the slogans on the banners read “Death to the Arabs” and “Forever Pure.” Initially, the opposition comes from just a small group of radical fans, but one thing leads to another and it spirals into popular revolt and a total boycott. These events have huge consequences for the team – their performance takes a nosedive, there’s disunity among the players and a grim atmosphere in the stadium. This film is testimony to the devastating effects of racism.
