1970年,披头士乐队再也没有录制一首歌,乐队的成员只是分开后,独自忙着自己的事情,列侬和小野洋子为自己的乐队操劳,麦卡特尼准备自己的第一张个人专辑,哈里森和其他乐队一起做巡回演出,斯塔尔则在拍摄电影,仅仅在一些公开露面的时候聚在一起,并且形式上否认有关解散的传闻。整个世界都没有真正意识到这支正处事业颠峰的伟大乐队即将解散。1970年春天,由于需要再进行混音制作的1969年初录制的单曲加工制作完成,并且作为电影原声《Let It Be》正式面世。这部电影就是披头士乐队当年灌制《Let It Be》唱片的同名记录电影。
太多的故事关于这四个人,更多音乐关于这团体,虽然已经解散将近40年,的确,本片如果对The Beatles没兴趣的观众观看,必定觉得无聊乏味,没有剧情和计画性的安排,唯有电影很单纯描述着The Beatles当年练团录音的实况,没有过多的主观纪录策划,但相信让The Beatles迷观看,处处都是惊喜,一个眼神一个停顿,都是让人猜测奇妙的人与人间的化学变化。
电影中可以看出当时的The Beatles岌岌可危,录制Let It Be的时候,四个披头之间已经有了无法弥补的裂痕:鼓手Ringo Starr受不了自己老被使唤来使唤去,一度忿而离团,好不容易才被劝回来。团长John Lennon和前卫艺术家小野洋子坠入爱河,兴致勃勃搞实验音乐和反战行动,对The Beatles愈来愈没兴趣。吉他手George Harrison受够了John和Paul无视于他愈来愈慑人的创作才华,老把他当成小弟弟,也不认真处理他的歌。全团四分五裂,只剩下Paul McCartney还极力要让The Beatles走下去。
Paul McCartney认为,早已飞越千山万水、在短短十年历经几世几劫的The Beatles,应该重返他们玩音乐的根源,回归单纯的「四件式乐团」编制,玩玩直来直往的摇滚乐,就像他们刚出道的时候在破酒吧里打拼的那个样子,他相信这样可以让团员重新找回音乐的热情。
在他的构想中,The Beatles的新专辑将会是一场演唱会实况录音,同时制作一集电视特别节目,记录The Beatles在录音间里排练新歌的情形,最后带到演唱会现场的大高潮。由于整个构想都标举「反璞归真、原汁原味」的精神,他们遂把这个计画命名为"Get Back"--这也是Paul McCartney的一首新歌。
结果事情完全不是Paul McCartney想像的那样:为了迁就电视摄影的需要,他们全体搬出录音室,来到一个冷飕飕、空荡荡的摄影棚,除了Paul,每个人的脸都很臭,John Lennon尤其痛恨身旁永远有人拿镜头对着你拍。对于Paul的热情和苦心,其他几个并不领情。到了最后,没有人有心情去想演唱会的事,他们决定在自己开的「苹果公司」屋顶架起器材唱几首歌,作为纪录片的收尾,然后大家把这件事忘掉算了。
1969年1月30日,他们踏上公司屋顶,唱了四十二分钟,直到脚下的街道被驻足围观的民众挤成交通阻塞,附近的屋顶都挂满了看热闹的人,警察才来勒令他们停止,因为声量太大了。这是地球上有史以来最成功的音乐团体最后一次的公开表演,也是后来留在Let It Be纪录片里的摇滚史经典段落。第二天,他们回到录音室,进行纪录片最后一天的拍摄,又唱了几首歌。这两天的录音,便是后来Let It Be专辑的骨架。
电影很真实纪录当时他们的一举一动,尤其是Paul和John之间的巧妙火花,看的出来当时的Paul似乎很想当一个带领The Beatles走向另一个阶段的人物,企图心控制力强,要求各团员跟着他的节奏和理念进行,却只有一个人在旁冷眼看待,那就是John Lennon,默默在角落跟小野洋子搂搂抱抱,甚至无心练团,甚至有一幕Paul和其他团员努力练唱时,John跟小野洋子既然在旁跳起华尔兹,没跟随练唱。而当Paul吟唱新歌"Get Back"时,John幽默得既然唱起”Don’t Let Me Down” ,实在太有趣的歌曲对话。

在专辑之中担任了两首歌曲的主唱的女歌手尼柯,曾经主演过安迪·沃霍尔制作的几部电影,由于他的介绍,才成为了“地下丝绒”的一员。尼柯那种冷漠、飘忽,充满着厌世的没落气息的声音深刻地影响了后来无数的女歌手。

Anthology 1 is a compilation album by the Beatles, released on 20 November 1995 by Apple Records as part of The Beatles Anthology series. It features rarities, outtakes and live performances from the period 1958–1964, including songs with original bass player Stuart Sutcliffe and drummer Pete Best. It is the first in a trilogy of albums with Anthology 2 and Anthology 3, all of which tie in with the televised special The Beatles Anthology. It contains "Free as a Bird", billed as the first new Beatles song in 25 years. The album topped the Billboard 200 album chart and was certified 8x Platinum by the RIAA.
The Anthology albums were remastered and made available digitally on the iTunes Store on 14 June 2011, individually and as part of the Anthology Box Set.

This superb compilation, often called "the red album", brings together the majority of the Beatles' hits from the earlyto mid '60s. Consequently, it plays like an overview of thesome of the most popular and indelible rock songs of all time. From the "yeah, yeah, yeah"'s of "She Loves You" throughthe amped-up giddiness of "I Want to Hold Your Hand", the minor-key melodicism of "And I Love Her", and on to the chiming power pop of "Eight Days a Week" and the tweaky feedback of "I Feel Fine", these are the songs that turned the entireWestern world on its ear.
The second half of the set--inaddition to its phenomenal songs-- is interesting in that it charts the Beatles' move from straightforward pop toward the new chapter of rock the band would help script in the late '60s. 当然,如果你已经拥有了《1962-1966》和《1967-1970》两套精选唱片,这张《1》对你的吸引力未必很大,作为一个普通乐迷,已经差不多拥有了最流行的The Beatles作品,不过如果你是忠实的「披头迷」,这张唱片的价钱还是省不了的,因为唱片的小册子印满了每一张细碟的原装封套,无论是英国版、美国版、法国版或日本版均一并印载,仿如一本迷你的The Beatles细碟全书。
况且《1962-1966》和《1967-1970》都是双唱片集,而各自收录的歌曲亦只是廿多首,相比之下,《1》就更物超所值了。
Mariah Carey在98年也曾推出过一张叫《#1's》的冠军细碟精选唱片,但就只收录16首歌,还要强硬将翻唱Brenda K.Starr的《I Still Believe》(林忆莲比她更早翻唱!)和几首未能夺魁的单曲加诸其中,比起廿七首冠军歌,也实在相差太远了!
在怀缅昔日的光辉之际,我们也应该期望着下个巨人的出现,只是,巨人得来不易,还是继续播放《Yesterday》吧……

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (often referred to simply as Sgt. Pepper) is the eighth studio album by the English rock band the Beatles. Released on 26 May 1967, Sgt.
