刁克利，博士、教授、博士生导师，中国人民大学外国语学院副院长、英语系系主任。主要研究方向为文学理论、作家研究和文学翻译，出版专著《西方作家理论研究》、《诗性的拯救：作家理论与作家评论》和《诗性的对话：美国当代作家访谈与写作环境分析》等，编著《英美文学欣赏》、《英国文学经典选读》和《翻译学研究方法导论》等，译著《成为作家》和《哈克贝利·芬历险记》等。

蟫（yín），蠹鱼也，以书为食。每当预感生命将息，蟫族就会将此生所有记忆，植入最后一批卵中，于是祖辈累积的见识，都会在幼蟫身上得以延续。蟫历来都是银灰色，寿命有限，却有一条红蟫一百多年来一直住在一部《慈云楼藏书志》里，似有心结未了。随着书的流散，红蟫见证了兵荒马乱的动荡，历经了与同族的分离，最终竟回到了早已沧海桑田的故乡——上海。
